Tusker House is now 2 dining credits!

@speeb I did some research!
if you look on the details of each of these three, they are listed as a part of the Disney Dining on Thanksgiving Day event. If you try and book on Thanksgiving Day, the entitlement is 2 credits, if you try a different day its only one!

Here is my screenshot from Tusker House for my September dates.

Here is my screenshot from Tusker House for my September dates.

Was that just searching the day and looking at the entitlement on the main page or actually trying to book? When I actually try to book, there is another place to click on dining plan entitlements and it says 1 credit.

Sometimes I think they have glitches and others I think it's intentional.

What better way to soften the blow in 6 months... Leak it now everyone freaks out then they retract it and say sorry not till 2017, everyone going between now and then is happy and all the 2017 people are prepared.

I'm feeling this has become the Disney way to introduce price increases. Too many "glitches" have happened lately on things like this that's it's making me realize that maybe their IT department isn't really that incompetent, but instead is smarter than we think or give them credit for.

So much panic and frustration over what is looking more like nothing. Nice work!

I searched for Tusker Housr for my day in September and I clicked on the more dining plan info.

Start to make a ressie. Then upper right click on Dining Plans accepted.

I still get 1 credit unless you are on Thanksgiving Day. Then it says 2.

This is what I don't get...

That dining plan is NOT mandatory. Why do people say "guess I can't eat there anymore..."

It's like Stockholm syndrome.

It really is scary. As I said elsewhere on this thread - when it first came out, the DDP was an excellent deal. It gradually was priced up to become an OK deal, to now it is no longer any kind a deal and if you don't use it wisely (i.e. Using 2 TS credits for Tusker House) it actually is more expensive than OOP. Even if this turns out to be a false alarm, it's no longer a "bargain" to be on the DDP. (Free dining is another story - and another argument.) But people still seem to fall all over themselves to use it.

That is just static. It wont change per date. You need to start to make an actual reservation. See my above post. There is another place to click on entitlements and from my research that seems to change per date. So far I have only hit 2 credits on Thanksgiving Day.

I can confirm what you are saying. I started the process of making a reservation for 2 on Thanksgiving day and it showed 2 entitlements for lunch. I canceled that and started to make a reservation for lunch on the day AFTER Thanksgiving and it only showed 1 entitlement for lunch.

They may be counting on the new rides and shows to hit one out of the park in the next year or so, but in the meantime they're so desperate to bump up (maintain) revenues that they literally don't care who they annoy in the long term, as long as they can catch a few thousand unaware newbs buying package holidays in the net of "credit increases".

That is what I have been finding.

This post shows my screen shots better with what I have found. No official word from Disney but its looking more like a special event/day change and a glitch on the main static page.

I hate to stereotype...but my gut tells me that the remaining love for the dining plan is reserved for many that are fixated to a particular promotion that is offered about 8 weeks a year in fewer and fewer quantities...

That segment is very vocal on places like Disney websites

I think most others are either take it or leave it or actively have begun to hate it.

I never even used the dining plan for CRT. Could never bring myself to spend 2 credits on any meal (not even during free dining). I always paid OOP then used the extra credit somewhere else.

That approach really falls apart if you wanted to do several character meals over the course of a trip. We like doing 2 table service meals a day (breakfast and dinner) maybe once. But not enough to it several times.

I think you just proved my general point...

If you are navigating around the dining plan out of pocket and spending money...

Then the dining plan isn't working for you...great for bob Iger though

And months ago several knowledgable posters informed me that they believe that there's a decent chunk of people who don't pay the tips and actively think it's ok. That is appalling as well.

I'm not telling the individual what to do...but collectively...on the whole...the customers need to move towards a better practice.

Disney dining is almost broken at this point. We all let it happen through different means.
This, i would guess a good chunk of people on the DDP think tips are included, i would as well if i didn't stalk the Dis. People need to include this in estimatesahead of time before deciding that DDP is worth the cost too.

This is why if I go next year I will have a car. I won't be held hostage and fleeced on vacation. I have no problem going to Black angus or Outback, are they premium? Not by any means, but you are getting the quality you pay for. I understand not wanting to leave the parks for dinner, it can waste time. However, the cost benefit for me is better going offsite.

When Canada went 2 credits, did the cash prices increase too? I can't see them not raising the cash price to keep the Dinning Plan savings narrative accurate.

(this isn't the only reason, I also don't like depending on the busses)

I thought the EXACT same thing...but again (as much as you can trust strangers) trusted sources said they were aware of "tactics" or an attitude of "penalizing" Disney (by robbing the workers who have nothing to do with Disney profits) by doing it intentionally and pleading ignorance.

Like long time, dozens of trips travelers.

I'm still appalled.

It did jog my memory though...I can remember some acquaintances - who knew better - making comments that they " werent paying more" for the dining plan after the took out the tip and the appy...

...That can only be interpreted a few ways...

Did they raise Le cellier? Absolutely

What most people here are not taking into account is why price increases work. Disney attendance is NOT made up of just the people on this board, or indeed just repeat visitors. In fact, it is overwhelmingly people who have never been there before. For them, they will think that 2 credits is normal, because that will be all they have ever known. It's much the same in my workplace. Students get all bent out of shape about some issue. Then four years later they have all graduated and the new crop has no idea that the issue ever even existed. By and large, Disney visitors, much like college students, have very little institutional memory. We can rail on and on about price increases here until the cows come home, but in the end, it won't matter one bit. Why? Because the amount of money Disney makes off the readers of this board is literally lost in the noise. It's fun to think that by complaining about Disney pricing here you're making a difference, but in the end, you're just deluding yourself. And most of you will just go anyway even though you were complaining, and pay the price increases. I know I will :)

I really get tired of the fact that any time virtually anything dining related is discussed around here, some people have to come out of the woodwork to bash the dining plan. Yeah, I get it. Some of you think that the dining plan was invented by Adolf Hitler himself. And you think we're all morons for using it. And for some reason, it seems to actually make some people mad that some of us choose to use it.

The truth is, there is a value in the DDP for some people, and there isn't for others. Some people lose money on the DDP and some save money. Anyone speaking in absolutes ("the DDP always costs more") is just flat wrong. And, regardless, why do you care so much how other people are choosing to spend their vacation money?

We have always done the DDP and will continue to do the DDP. Yes, even if some character meals go up to 2 credits a piece. And I guarantee you that the math will still work in our favor. Because I know our family and how we like to eat on vacation. As always, YMMV.
