Turtle Talk Lines Are Getting Crazy

We went two weeks after Easter in 2005 and the lines for Turtle Talk weren't so bad. I don't remember the waiting area backing all the way up to the escalators. But this year (also 2 weeks post Easter) the lines were crazy. I was just really surprised by the fact that the room had three showings worth of back-up during a day that wasn't really that crowded for anything else.

I'm wondering if they'll make it a fastpass attraction soon.

I was sorry that we had to miss it, but we saved it for last in the day, mistakingly thinking that Soarin' and Test Track would have the longest waits.

I think this started out as a cute diversion, but quickly became a hit. A nice problem to have if you are Disney. We saw it right after it opened (November 2004 I think) and CMs were begging guests to come in. The room was maybe 1/2 full. My kids benefitted from some fantastic interaction with Crush. We left felling truly amazed at the magic of it all. We skipped it last time because of the big lines.

I have heard a lot about this lately. I guess this is why it has been added as one of the Future World attractions that stays open past 7 pm.

Lines have been consistantly long (read: outrageous) for a while now. Even though it is geared toward preschoolers, Crush is a delightful diverson, especially for those who know Epcot pretty well and want to take things at a leisurely pace.

We're hoping for FastPass soon, too.

"Turtle Talk" is wonderful, and worth waiting in line for a while! We saw it twice during our recent visit and saw two totally different shows. My favorite moment came when a little girl told Crush that her dad didn't believe they were going to talk to a turtle. Crush asked where her dad was (he was in the back of the theater). He (Crush) carried on a little small talk with the dad, then said, "Hey dude, you're totally talking to a turtle!"

A larger theater would alleviate the length of the lines, but much of the intimacy of the show would be lost. The way it is now, Crush is able to interact with people all over the theater.

This show could easily be held in multiple theaters (with staggered start-times) simultaneously.

The entrances could be separated and "disguised" (the queue would get "re-routed" inside a hallway) so that the guests didn't realize there was more than one "Crush" at a time.

(This is the way so many more guests get to meet Mickey in Toontown.)

I hope Disney decides to add more Crush theaters.

Three theaters could "eat" the crowds MUCH faster.

That is a wonderful idea. And with all of the Living Seas renovations going on, this would be a good time to get moving. If only the powers that be were thinking the same thing. But they must know that Crush is creating a big crowd in the lower level - hopefully they are brainstorming too!

I agree that TT definitely needs to be doubled, FP-ed, or SOMETHING to help ease the wait time! We saw it when it was new and loved it...my daughter still talks about it!! Last December, though, we had to skip it due to the wait My autistic DS could not tolerate the crowded, disorganized queue the way it was set up (the end of the line hit us right at the entrance to Living Seas!) The GAC only permitted us to use the FP queues when available. FP would have been great!!

It certainly seems odd that "Living With the Land" is a FP attraction, while TT With Crush is not.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at least it will have FP by our next visit in November!! "CHA!!"

This was one of my favorite shows! We had to go back a 2nd time so the kids could sit right up front and my Dnephew got to be part of it. . The lines were kinda long, but I thought it was so worth it! We were amazed by the show. It is a must see if you have kids, and as a parent you will laugh so hard!

My DD7 *really* wants to "meet" Crush. I hope that the line isn't too scary when we get there. Even if it is, oh well! LOL.

They do need to fix the way they have the lines. We stood in line for so long and watched people getting into the handicap line and getting in. They just followed the handicap people in and no one questioned it. We saw this happen a few times. Also when you get near the front of the line, people push their in and if you don't push back (which I hate) you might not get in.

i was in epcot this past Tuesday....Turtle Talk opened at 10, we got to Turtle Talk at 10:10 and found at least an hour's wait...(and this was a rainy morning, the rest of the park was deserted) ...we skipped it, unfortunatly

Another part of the reason the crowds may be so huge now is that there is not a constant flow into the entire pavillion itself. With the beginning portion of the Living Seas closed off, guests enter at their will through the exit of the pavillion, thus creating ZERO crowd control for the pavillion. Once the new ride opens, Disney will have more control over the amount of people in the "sea base alpha" section of the attraction. Not that this will stop the crazy lines, but it may alleviate them some.

We waited 30 minutes on 5/4 - it was some time between noon and 1:00 PM. I definitely thought it was worth the wait, but agree that they should add additional theaters or make it Fast Pass.

I went on 5/11. I wish it opened at 9 when the rest of futureworld opened. But since it didn't open until 10, I went to get a FP for Soarin first. Got in line at 9:40 and was admitted to the first show (even though there seemed to be quite a line ahead of me).

I agree. We just got back on Friday and the biggest wait we had anywhere was 5 minutes! The only attraction we didn't do that we wanted to do was Turtle Talk - the CM said it would be at least 35 minutes and with no FP we just couldn't wait. They really should consider FP for this show.

We were there on May 1st and skipped it, the wait was about an hour. We were back on May 3rd and the wait was over an hour at that time so we skipped it again. I really wanted to see it though I hope they can figure out a way of getting more people in and out more efficiently.

Last March we did Turtle Talk just because we were at the Living Seas and saw people walking into the theater and thought- hey, why not try it? We were 22 and 57 years old.... so obviously not the crowd the show was directed at but it was awesome! We both loved it and agreed it was something we'd love to do again. We're going in September- hopefully by then they'll have a FP or this sketchy, under-the-table setup Robo here suggested!!
