:flower1: Hello and Welcome to my very first Pre-Trip Report! :flower1:

My name is Casey, I'm 22 years old and I've been in love with any and all things Disney since birth thanks to my Disney Addict parents. I've been to Disney too many times to count at this point and I always find new things to love every time. I have an unhealthy addiction to anything involving Epcot, Figment is my main man and every time I hear the original "One Little Spark" I tear up.

So I'm very excited for this upcoming trip for a whole lotta reasons. We have a larger group coming with us, which is always fun; my lovely boyfriend gets to experience my familys obsession first-hand; we’re bringing my sisters best friend for her first trip to Disney; and last but not least, my mom and I have been having serious Turtle Krawl cravings and even with the recipe, nobody makes it like Disney. Enough about me, lets start with the basics here:

Who:

As for the who, we have 9 people in our party that'll be with us at various points during this trip. I've already done my own introduction so lets start off with some pretty important people:

Mom and Dad

These two are to blame for the complete and utter Disney obsession in my house. They live to plan these trips and they work hard to feed their Disney love. They're DVC members and have more Disney art in the house than family pictures. My moms absolute favorite thing to do during our vacations is get a drink from one of the resort bars, find a secluded bench, smoke a cigarette. My dad's just a big kid when it comes to Disney and with how hard he works to support our family, he deserves to get to go to his happy place every year.

Krissy

This right here is my partner in crime when it comes to every and all things Disney. Shes 19 years old and has no idea how to act it. Last trip she decided to carry Sully around with her everyday and take "sullfies" of him everywhere and with whoever she could find to show her boyfriend back home how much fun Sully was having.

Kelsey and Alex

These two interesting humans are 16 years old and best friends. Kelsey's my little sister and Alex should be. This will be Alex's first time in Disney and everyone's pretty excited for her to see everything, especially the castle for the first time. We're also kinda hoping Alex will convince Kelsey to come on some of the rides shes been afraid of going on, like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, fingers crossed.

Andrew

This handsome devil is my best friend in the entire world and he just so happens to also be my boyfriend. The last time he was in Disney was about 2 years ago when he and I were both dating other people and we went with a group of friends. He tends to roll his eyes when I start talking about plans or anything like that but he's starting to come around as the countdown winds down. I have a feeling I may be able to convert him to an addict with enough time.

Craig and Craig Jr.

These two are pretty much family at this point and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Craig's like a second father to all of us and Craig Jr is the annoying little brother I never had. They're very close family friends and I'm sure it's going to be a blast having them come along.

When:

So I'm pretty late in this pre-trip report game considering we've been planning this trip for months already and we leave in 30 or so days. But anyway, for some reason my family has a tendency to plan a trip during one of the busiest/hottest times possible but we always manage to have a great time. Like I mentioned earlier, the dates vary for everyone in the group so it can get a little confusing. My parents, Kristen, Kelsey and Alex are heading down July 1st-July 11th; Andrew and I are going July 3rd-July 11th; Craig and Craig Jr are going July 4th-July 8th

Where:

Well this one was obvious to us since my parents are DVC members and we honestly cannot get enough of this place. We're staying in Old Key West for the entire trip. My parents have a 2-bedroom villa for the first couple of days and when Andrew and I get down there we check into another 1-bedroom villa so we'll have plenty of room for everyone who comes. And of course we shall see where on the resort property we end up staying, we request the hospitality house every year and we've never been disappointed so lets keep our fingers crossed we get the same area.

Oh and the second, very important, reason we always stay here is this little baby right here:

The Turtle Krawl is definitely mine and everyone's favorite drink on property and if I wasn’t staying here I would definitely visit often to have one. One of Andrews favorite stories was the last time we stayed here together, whenever he and whoever he was with would start walking to the bar, the bartender would see them coming and start making this perfect concoction

Why:

Trips to Disney have become a family tradition that is greatly missed if we skip a year. We've tried saving money and going to other amusement parks for a weekend or so instead of traveling to the world and we always regret it. This is just our yearly expedition to the one place we all can't get enough of. Plus we never pass up an opportunity to bring loads of people down with us, especially if its their first time.

We have a lot of this trip planned out already because as I mentioned, I'm really late in entering this report but there's still plenty to do as we get closer and closer! So join me as I drive Andrew and the rest of my family crazy with plans and Disney music for the next 30 days!

Joining in! Sounds like a great time, and it is just around the corner! That Turtle Krawl...boy oh boy, that looks tasty! May have to make a pit stop at OKW to try that one! I am starting to want to visit the world every year as well, I really hope to become a DVC member...5 year plan! :donald:

Thanks for joining! :wave2: Yeah there's no way I'd be able to feed my addiction to his place without DVC, I highly recommend it especially if you're like me and NEED to be here yearly, at least :earboy2:

Day 1 Itinerary

As I mentioned in the intro, I'm not actually going to be arriving on July 1st with the rest of family but of course I couldn’t not plan those 3 days for them. So Day 1 will start with Mom, Dad, Krissy, Kelsey and Alex.

The first day starts bright and early on Wednesday, July 1st with a 5:59am flight out of JFK. We usually take early flights when going to Disney but this may be the earliest we've ever booked a flight. That means they're going to be picked up from the house somewhere around 3:00am while I'm sound asleep in my nice warm bed.. Completely kidding, I'll probably be up with them and crying as they leave because I still have 2 more days to get through before I get to leave.

They're set to arrive at MCO at 8:33am and from there they'll make their way down to Magical Express and head over to Old Key West

Since they're taking such an early flight down, I'm imagining they're going to probably grab a bite to eat at Goods, the quick service at Old Key West and head out to Magic Kingdom.

Fastpasses:

Peter Pan's Flight - 11:05am-12:05pm
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - 12:10pm-1:10pm
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - 1:30pm-2:30pm

After they play around for a while in Magic Kingdom, they're going to head back to Old Key West to check into the room, since you can't typically check in until the afternoon.

Dinner reservations were made at Olivia's Café for 5:35pm at Old Key West. This is a definite family favorite and I can't rave enough about how much I love this place, from the food to the cast members to the drinks, its great.

Now if I know my family at all, I know they're going to go back to Magic Kingdom after dinner to finish off their first night watching Wishes and I'll probably sitting at home with Andrew drinking wine and watching Netflix like any other 20 somethings do in the middle of their week.

29 more days to go! Until next time! :figment:

Intro (Part 2)

Somehow I completely forgot to include the most important part of my family in the intro! I'm terrible :sad2:

The two very important family members that I forgot to include are my furry little babies, Kiara and Kahlua. Kiara's the mutt on the left and Kahlua's the mutt on the right and I honestly couldn't tell you what breeds they are. They may not be coming with us but they'll definitely be part of the trip report, and I know they'll be helping us pack when it comes time.

And I must include the furry flying babes that live with Andrew, Stitch and Rocco. You'll never guess which one I named… Anyway, they're Sugar Gliders and I can't handle how cute they are :stitch2:

Day 2 Itinerary

Day 2 is traditionally Epcot day and this year is no exception.

The day would start with having breakfast in the room since we usually pack cereals and pancake mix and things like that, unless we have ADRs. For the first few days in the parks, we usually head out the door relatively early so we take full advantage of the day and get as much done as we can before the heat and crowds take over.

Fastpasses:
Spaceship Earth - 9:55am-10:55am
The Seas with Nemo and Friends - 11:40am-12:40am
Soarin' - 1:30pm-2:30pm

Lunch is usually spent in The Land at Sunshine Seasons before Soarin'

After Soarin' there will probably be a break in the day, head back to OKW, hit the pool and relax for a bit before dinner.

ADRs for this night is at the Liberty Tree Tavern, which is one of my Dads favorite restaurants. It definitely has to do with the hearty food serves family style and you can get more of everything which is right up my Dads alley.

After dinner, I would imagine they would stay in the park but I honestly don't know what they'll end up doing.

And the countdown continues! 28 days!

Day 3 Itinerary

Since my family can't seem to break tradition, day 3 will consist of exploring Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The day will either start one of two ways, either they'll be having breakfast in the room like usual or they'll go to the park early and head to Starring Rolls.

Then they'll be off to do their fastpasses which I so graciously arranged.

Fastpasses:
The Great Movie Ride - 10:15am-11:15am
Voyage of the Little Mermaid - 11:45am-12:00pm
Star Tours - 1:25pm-2:25pm

They decided to skip Rock 'N' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror this time since my parents wont go on either of them and we have other days planned here.

Lunch will more than likely be at the Backlot Express and the rest of the afternoon will be spent wandering the park and hitting up my dad's favorite attraction - One Man's Dream.

ADRs for this night is 50's Prime Time Café. My dad loves this place, especially the meatloaf and we all just adore the atmosphere and the cast members.

But now to get to the most important part of this update. I CAN FINALLY START MY VACATION!

Andrew has work during the morning but I convinced him to take a half day so we can finish packing, taking the dogs to the kennel and doing whatever else needs to be done.

Craig volunteered to drive us to the airport so we'll probably leave around 3:00pm for our 5:00pm flight out of Newark, which is just must easier to fly out of than JFK. Scheduled to land at 7:43pm and we can make our run for Magical Express!

I was promised that as long as I text my Mom when we hit Disney property, she would drinks waiting for us so that’s definitely on the agenda.

Once we get to OKW, we check into the 1-bedroom villa, drop our stuff off and head to Magic Kingdom, which is open until 2:00am. I went ahead and booked some fastpasses just in case we needed them, even though I know we probably won't make at least the first fastpass due to timing, but I know Big Thunder's line is never too terrible on nights where they have Extra Magic Hours so we can hit that one up later.

Fastpasses:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - 8:20pm-9:20pm
Space Mountain - 9:20pm-10:20pm
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - 10:20pm - 11:20pm

Dinner for us will probably be Casey's Corner since I love their corn dog nuggets.

We'll probably wander around the park until we physically cannot anymore and then head back to the room.

Day 4 Itinerary

As everyone already knows, July 4th is one of the craziest days of the year for the parks and of course, my family always ends up in Disney for the holiday. We did this last year also and it worked out pretty well so we decided to use the same system we worked out last time.

This is the only day we booked a breakfast ADR and we decided on 'Ohana for this trip. Last year we ended up at Chef Mickey's, which I adore but we gotta change it up once in a while. Plus who doesn't love getting a visit from Stitch during breakfast?! :stitch2:

After breakfast , the day is pretty much up in the air. The only thing we know for sure is that we're not touching any of the parks until the evening. What we're probably going to end up doing is resort hopping and shopping since its probably the easiest way to beat the crowds.

Craig and Craig Jr. are set to arrive today, I'm not completely sure what time but is should be the early afternoon.

Dinner will be a quick service wherever we happen to be at that time.

My plan for that night is to head over to Epcot and do some drinking/eating around World Showcase with Krissy, Andrew, and Craig Jr. I just really need my fix of, Avocado Margaritas, German beer and School Bread.

Fastpasses:
Meet Disney Pals at Epcot Character Spot - 5:10pm-6:10pm
The Seas with Nemo and Friends - 6:25pm-7:25pm
Test Track - 7:25pm-8:25pm

How yummy does that look?!

Then we're going to find a spot and watch Illuminations. Now I'm not completely sure what we're going to do after the fireworks. Both Epcot and Hollywood Studios are open until midnight so I guess we'll just decide that night what we're in the mood for.

Getting closer! 22 days! :figment:

Day 5 Itinerary

So day 5 is my day 2 and Craig and Craig Jr's day 1 technically and it will also be our first full park day. :cool1:

The plan is Magic Kingdom at this point, which I'm quite excited for. As all days typically begin, breakfast will be in the room and I don't mess around when it comes to time in the park so we'll be out of the room relatively early.

Fastpasses:
Jungle Cruise - 10:05am-11:05am
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - 11:15am-12:15pm
Splash Mountain - 12:45pm-1:45pm

Lunch will hopefully be early since we try really hard to beat the lunch crowds so somewhere between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Splash Mountain we'll go looking for food.

ADR for tonight will be Biergarten at 5:15pm, but my mom wasn't a huge fan of it last year so its possible there's going to be some changes with reservations but we'll see. I love love love this restaurant, like the atmosphere makes me so happy and I'm a huge fan of German food so I'll probably keep this reservation and whoever feels like coming with me.

After dinner we may try to take the Monorail back over to the Magic Kingdom to see Wishes but that depends on how much we all have to drink that night.. I mean we are eating in Germany and they have pretty legit beer choices. :drinking:

Day 6 Itinerary

Ridiculously excited to finally get to go to Epcot during the day! This is my absolute favorite place in the entire world and I have an unhealthy obsession with all things Figment. Like always, everyone up and out early to go see my baby Figment. :figment:

Fastpasses:
Journey Into Imagination With Figment - 9:00am-10:00am
Soarin' - 10:25am-11:25am
Spaceship Earth - 12:20pm-1:20pm

Lunch, as always, will be at Sunshine Seasons since I think its one of the best CS options in the park and we have our fastpasses for Soarin' right around lunch time.

ADR for tonight is The Turf Club Bar and Grill at Saratoga Springs at 5:30pm. Definitely one of my favorite places for dinner and I feel like it’s a hidden gem since it never really seems to be crowded.

After dinner, we'll head over to Hollywood Studios since it's open later tonight with closing at 10:30pm.

Its getting closer!

Day 7 Itinerary

Day 7 is our Hollywood Studios day. Its definitely gonna be weird without the hat but I think it looks so much better without it. It reminds me of Hollywood Studios when I was a kid and I really do think it was better back then. This day may not have to be as early as the other mornings since our first fastpass is a little later in the morning.

Fastpasses:
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - 10:40am-11:40am
Toy Story Midway Mania - 12:25pm-1:25pm
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue - 1:25pm-2:25pm

ADR for this night is Raglan Road in Downtown Disney which I'm particularly pumped about. I mean who doesn’t love Irish beer and pub food? Also, this would be a good night to explore all the new areas and stores in Downtown Disney, which means I'll probably end up spending all my money.

I'm thinking tonight may be a good night to just take the boat back to Old Key West and hang around by the pool.

I've always thought Old Key West looked like a pretty place to stay!

You're so close to your trip!! I'm 25 days out and losing my mind, lol!!

I've always thought Old Key West looked like a pretty place to stay!

You're so close to your trip!! I'm 25 days out and losing my mind, lol!!

Ahhh I know, I'm about to hit single digits and I'm not sure what to even do with myself, I'm so excited! :figment:

I've been slacking way too hard on finishing this report but I'm determined to finish before we leave.

We finally got around to doing our online check-in for when Andrew and I head down on the 3rd and its so nice seeing this when its all done.

Day 8 Itinerary

Anyway so day 8 will be our Animal Kingdom day since that’s the only park we haven't been to yet. Another relatively early morning and we’re off to hang out with my friends, the giraffes.

Fastpasses:
Kilimanjaro Safaris - 10:15am-11:15am
Kali River Rapids - 11:30am-12:30pm
Dinosaur - 1:45pm-2:45pm

These fastpasses weren't my choice because I'm beyond terrified of Dinosaur. It's not like I don’t know that the dinosaurs aren't going to actually come after me but for some reason while I'm on the ride I can't comprehend that and I'm honestly fearful for my life. I don't think there's been any picture taken on this ride where I'm not ducking into the back of the seat in front of me. Last year, I was bribed to go on this ride with a baby Simba stuffed animal.. I'm a child.

My protector right here

ADR for tonight is Kona Café, another first for us. I've checked out the menu and some reviews and its somewhere I've wanted to try for a while now so it should be a good night.

Also, since we’re going to be having dinner along the monorail line and this was always on our plans to do during this trip, I'm thinking this night would be a good option to head up to the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower. This has become a tradition for us in recent years because you really can't beat watching Wishes with this view and if you're lucky and looking in the right direction you'll see Illuminations also. I recommend this place to anyone with DVC membership because its an awesome experience. I'm not 100% sure we'll be doing this on our 8th day, we may do it another night so we can include Craig and Craig Jr since they're set to head home today so we'll see how it all turns out.

I absolutely adore this view

So we're officially down to single digits and I'm pretty much unable to function properly.

Like that’s a beautiful sight

And now back to figuring out the rest of the trip

Day 9 Itinerary

For our 9th day, we've decided to spend at least the morning in DHS but we probably won’t be getting out super early like the rest of the days.

Fastpasses:
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - 10:15-11:15
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - 11:30-12:30
MuppetVision 3D- 1:30pm-2:30pm

The rest of the day is pretty much up in the air. The only thing I'm sure about is our ADR for this night is Via Napoli. We tried this restaurant for the first time last year and fell in love. The only thing I didn’t like was having absolutely no self control, like I mean we had a large pizza for an apppetizer and everyone still had their own entrees, and I guarantee we'll do that again this year. The worst part is walking all the way back to the buses after eating yourself into a coma.

Day 10 Itinerary

Day 10 will be our last full day in the parks and I'm already sad writing about it.

There isn't much in the way of plans for this day and any fastpasses we have are later in the day. I'm imagining we'll probably either head to Magic Kingdom for the morning or just take the morning to hang out by the pool.

Later, in the afternoon, we're going to be heading to Epcot.

Fastpasses:
Spaceship Earth - 3:25pm-4:25pm
Test Track - 5:00pm-6:00pm
The Seas with Nemo and Friends - 6:40pm-7:40pm

The ADR we have for this night is La Hacienda de San Angel but we may not keep this one. I know my family wanted a night to eat around World

Showcase and just hang out and this may be the night, but who knows. We'll probably send the night in Epcot, watch Illuminations and stay super later since its open until midnight.
