Turtle Cay Resort, VA, anyone experienced?

I'm thinking down the road and I know my DH would like to go some place using our points other than going to WDW, so I was looking at this resort on the DVC website and it sounded fun for a family with beach, pools, Williamsburg and BG nearby. Just thought I'd see if anyone has been here.

I remember reading about this one before...it's in a great locations. The reviews I have are iffy though...

We stayed across the street from it last year (the Ramada on the Beach), and TC looked pretty nice. There is also the Boardwalk Resort, it's oceanfront; so if you're going to try a trade to VB, that's what I'd try for.

As I remember, the only thing is that it is not on the beach side of the street. You have to cross the street to get to the beach. I've never stayed there but it looks great.

If that doesn't bother you VB is a great place for a vacation.

Thanks for the responses! I appreciate that link kweaver, I'll have to go back and search that site more. MAC 3--let us know how you like it when you return. Did you trade your points for that vacation or did you just do that on your own?

Ssh.... I didn't trade points for it. I won a free trip as part of Member Days last summer. We were trying to make this year vacation as low cost as possible. We are saving for DCL 2005.

So we are driving down, accomodations paid for by DVD, so it's just food and fun.

I will be sure to resurrect this thread to post my findings. To be honest I am a bit nervous though. Especially when your used to DVC standards.

Thanks! I believe it was the first year that they did this. All you had to do was fill out a questionaire with names of other DVC'ers (you could walk around and ask others at the party) What year they joined? Someone that traded out? ect....

Then all the ones that were filled out went into lottery and they chose 1. We got lucky! I hope they do it again this year!
