Turning Japanese: A Disney Nut Does Tokyo Disney!

Crimini - I am the person who posted very early on who was at TDL the exact same dates as you. Thank you for all of your hard work on your trip report, I'm afraid we take a ton of photos and they just sit on our computer. We always say we'll do the trip rpt next time...
Just fyi, we usually go to Hong Kong every few years and always plan our flight to go thru Narita. We layover in Tokyo for about a week and now can see 2 Disney parks in one trip. I find that the airfare to HK is often cheaper than the airfare to Tokyo and I have never had to pay an extra charge for the additional layover time. Just something to think about.

couple more things, there is a tonkatsu restaurant in Ipskari that I like a lot and a change from park food, but I am partial to the Country Bear Curry House... Also I bought a really cute white tshirt from TDS that had symbols of several different attractions, I also bought a fun red and black fleece jacket at HKDL, wish I could have bought more clothes and lots of cute cookies and crackers!

I just found and read your entire report...great job! :thumbsup2 I would love to visit Tokyo...it looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for reading! I look forward to reading your Disneyland TR. I went in 2001 but was only at Disneyland for one day and I haven't been to DCA. So I'm planning to go for a few days next year. Hope you have a great time!

Thanks for the tips! I would love to see your pictures. ;) My DH loves tonkatsu, so when we go back hopefully we can go to the place at Ipskari. I'm definitely going to save up for next time to buy some cool TDR attire and some yummy take-home treats!! I'm gonna spend at LEAST three days at the parks as well.

Two questions for you if you don't mind:

1) Which airline do you usually purchase your plane tickets from?

2) How do you like HK Disney? I've been thinking I'll wait a few years to go there so there will be more attractions - they seem pretty scant at the moment. What do you think?

My favorite park in The world is TokyoDisneySea and I'm there just about every other weekend. One quick note--Universal Studios Japan is nowhere near Tokyo. It's actually in Osaka. That's about a 4 hour expensive Bullet train ride from Tokyo. On the side I've been to every Disney Park in the world, was born and raised in Georgia(just a hop skip and and a jump from WDW) If you ever make it this far let me know and I'll hook you up with half price sponsor tickets and meet you in DisneySEA to translate.

So where's your Tokyo Disney TR? ;) I'd love to read it!!! :thumbsup2

I'm fairly new to Disboards and in fact my PC skills are lacking, especially in how to post pictures. I've never done a TR. Although I'd love to share some pictures of the different events that happen, like the Stitch event in Tokyo Disneyland. If I can ever figure it out I will share.

All I can say is WOW:thumbsup2 Disney Sea is amazing.
That would be so cool if WDW did just one new thing like that. I know its owned by a different company so that probably will never happen. Thank you so much for writing your TR I'm sure it will help people in making a decision whether to go there or not. Glad you had a good time. Thanks!

HOWDY - thanks for reading!! You know, I read the other day (in my countless hours of Disney-related surfing) that Disney Imagineers actually did help plan DisneySea! So maybe someday relatively soon they will do something like that at WDW. I wish they would stop spending money on refurbishments and start spending on a few cool new rides. I also read that Disney's next big venture is a park in Signapore or Shanghai, so we're probably outta luck here in the US, at least for while. :sad1:
