Thanks....I tried to...I really did! :rotfl: It actually wasn't bad, but it was long (meeting at lunch AND no prep today:scared1: ) and rather chaotic. The meeting at lunch was this lady from the union coming and saying we are going to put the administration in check (they are violating our contract left and right but they strike worse when you call them on it....this could get REALLY ugly!) Some kid left milk in his backpack and it exploded all over the place, WHILE we were baking cookies (from scratch) in a toaster oven and then this girl bumped her arm on the oven and burned it. And this was all happening at once. At least tomorrow is Friday! :woohoo: (AND I'm going to New Orleans!)

...but enough about me....back on topic!...

I LOVE that shot of the side of the castle...and the sky is SO blue! For some reason, as many times as I've eaten at Cosmic Rays, I've never sat near Sonny Eclipse! And I haven't seen a bus that empty in a LONG time! And you're wearing those cute Tigger/Tiger shirts. :goodvibes

And congrats on the 3 pounds! That's an accomplishment! After this trip I need to work out...TWO people asked me if I was pregnant yesterday (I'm NOT)...um, rude much? :sad2:

Whew! What a day! That just sounds like something out of a movie. I hope everyone was ok, minus the 2nd degree burns! Yikes:scared1:

You are like the 15th person to comment on how empy the buses were in our pictures. They were. The crowds were nice, even though the shot down Main Street looks a little crazy!

I don't know why but I thought it was next weekend that you were coming down here. I am actually going to be in NO this weekend and next. Guess why I'm going this weekend???? Yours truly will be rocking it out with NKOTB!!! Ahhhh yeah, New Kids On The Block are back! I was extremely obsessed when I was younger and I am sooooo excited to go see them. I know I know, I'm pathetic!

So, have a wonderful time and think of me when you're eating all of that yummy delicious and rediculously fattening food! Can't wait to hear all about it!

It sounds like you had a really nice morning. I keep smiling when I think of Aubrey singing It's a Small World. Sha Baby! That must have been so cute. Ariel is Courtney's favorite princess too. I guess she can relate to her because she is a teenager too. Just think of all the calories our children save us from eating when they eat our food. :rotfl2: I love the bunches of balloons too.

Yeah, it was pretty priceless. I wish I could upload the video for you to see. I am working on it! Again, I am frightened of the teenage years. This stage with Aubrey, it truly has been the hardest I've ever had to go through with her. Even worse than the newborn no sleeping phase, teething phase... I am praying for patience every day!

After we got the kids home and settled, I decided to head out and explore the resort a little. This ended up being my favorite thing to do during nap time. Jason didn't mind. He enjoyed the quiet time on the couch watching football!

I headed down to the Marketplace and found that the gift shop was extremely small. I was on the hunt for a Beach Club coffee mug and picture frame and they had neither:confused3 I was very suprised by this since the other resorts that I've stayed at had gift shops the size of my house! A part of me was a little relieved because now I was not tempted to buy a ton of junk that I didn't need:thumbsup2 I browsed a bit and decided to purchase a card holder that you wear around your neck. I had never seen these and it ended up coming in very handy. I had it on at all times. It made it very easy to get to my card key when I needed it quickly and it was also water proof so I could wear it in the pool. I higly recommend this little $6 investment!
home0033.jpg

I also decided to buy a little journal to document all of our wonderful memories specifically for my trip report. I am so glad I did this because I would not have remember all of the details of our trip. Now looking back on it, it was a bit of a blur. I can't remember what day we went where and what we did:laughing: Boy, I must be getting old!
home0012.jpg

I also picked up a refillable mug. We really didn't need this but I've gotten one on every other trip so it's a tradition. I didn't realize until I got back to the room that the mug did not have Beach Club written on it. It was just a generic Disney mug. Guess that's what they've started doing. I was kind of bummed about this but I guess that means I'll be able to use it in the future?? Don't know.
home006.jpg

After I made my purchases, I headed towards our room but then felt a strong urge to go check out the pool. I couldn't handle it. We had been there over 24 hours and still had not gotten in the famous Stormalong Bay!!! I walked over to Hurrican Hanna's and decided to treat myself with an adult beverage. They had a lot of yummy beachy drinks to choose from, but I decided to go with one of my favorites... a Mojito! And boy was it yummy. This would not be the last time that the Mojito and I would meet! I was really enjoying my alone time and was going to sit on the beach to finish my drink when my cell phone rang. It was Aubrey. Both the kids were awake and ready to go swimming! We had a few hours before we were due to leave to Hollywood Studios so it worked out great!

I went upstairs and got changed. We all headed down to the pool and jumped it. Man, can I just tell you, this pool is unlike anything I've ever seen. Aubrey loved playing in the sand and making sand castles. I have to take a second to talk about this sand. I was a little worried about it. I love going to the beach but I cannot stand tracking sand into the house. There is nothing worse than a sandy bathtub or a sandy bed:scared1: I was worried that this might be a problem because of the pool. Well, somehow Disney managed to use the perfect kiind of sand in this pool. It was magic sand. For some reason, it didn't stick to you when you got out the pool. I think it was because it was a really large grit kind of sand, not like what I'm used to at the beach. I know this will probably sound really gross, but it was kind of the consistancy of kitty litter! It was so comfortable to walk on and it came off so easily. On the same note, the sand at the beach was so fine that it just blew off of your feet! It was almost like powdered sugar. I tell you, they think of everything. I did not see one grain of sand inside of the resort. Genious! Alright, so back to the pool. Aubrey and Jason decided to hang out in the sand so I took Brendan over to the lazy river to relax. He was still not feeling well and I'm pretty sure he had a fever. Mother of the year, I know. I rented one of their clear tubes and eased my way into the water. Brendan was so happy laying ontop of me. In fact, he fell asleep for about 30 minutes! Everyone we passed was saying things like, "oh what a good baby" and "he's so quiet!" Little did they know it was because he was sick! He really enjoyed floating in the water though. I think it made him feel better. I have a picture of this but it's on my disposable water proof camera which I have not gotten developed yet. You'll just have to use your imagination. It was a really cute sight. I was planning on doing a post in the future of resort photos. I just can't wait until then to show you this pool. I want to be there right now. Maybe if I blink my eyes really really hard.....

Here is a picture of the bottom of the big water slide. I decided to do this first before Jason. I mean, how scarey can it be right??? Well, let me just tell you, that thing is fast! But sooooo much fun...

Here's the main part of the pool where Aubrey loved to build her sandcastles...

All of the kids meals are served in sand buckets with a shovel so there was never a shortage of them!

As much as I didn't want to leave the pool, it was time to go back up to the room to get dressed for dinner. We were headed over to DHS for dinner at one of our favs - Sci-Fi! I thought the kids would get a kick out of sitting in the cars. Little did I know what was in store for us...

The only way to get to DHS from BC is to take the boat. We headed out to the dock and waited for our ride. Here are some pics...

This is one of my favorite pics. It's kind of an artsy shot of the kids down the dock. I love it...
disneyday2-2056.jpg

As I was enjoying my new camera and taking a hundred pictures, I heard someone call out "Disney Tiger?" I really thought I was hearing things but turned around just to make sure. Guess what happened???? DISMEET!!!!!!! I was so excited! There, getting off of one of the boats, was my friend Texas Belle!!! I jumped up and down and we hugged! I had been reading her PTR and knew that we would be at the BC at the same time but never did I think we would actually run into each other! She was with her husband and daughter and they all recognized me and my shirt! She said that she also saw my bag which gave me away. I was just so excited. We both took pictures to remember this serendipitous meeting...

disneyday2-2059.jpg

I got so wrapped up in our little visit that I didn't realize our boat had arrived. We said our goodbyes and I was off. I was just giddy. I thought it was too cool that I had run into one of my DIS friends.

Carolyn, it really made my day seeing you and your family. I have told so many people that story but no one can really appreciate it without knowing the DIS.

On that note, I must say goodbye for now. Tonight, DH and I have a date:love: We are going to Oktoberfest at a local restaurant. I am sooooooo excited. We are big beer drinkers and LOVE Oktoberfest. The food is delish too. So I need to go shower and get all prettied up for him:flower3: I'm not sure if I will be able to post tomorrow. I have a busy day. We have a birthday party to go to and then I'm headed to New Orleans to see New Kids on the Block. Oh yeah, I'm going. I am so excited!!!!! If I don't get to post, I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Up next, Sci-Fi Dine in Theater. My kids will be needed therapy after this one!

The pic of Aubrey at the lollipops is too funny!
My DD was really tough at 3 too. She is a lot easier to deal with now, but she still has her moments.

Glad the kids enjoyed the rides so much!

Storm a long bay looks great!!!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the concert!!! :cool1:

I just read your whole report from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed your pre trippie and your trip report. I'm subscribing so I don't miss a moment!!!!
I'm from nearby Thibodaux , Louisiana.

:thumbsup2 :cloud9:

Isn't is so fun to meet other disers. Especially when you know them from a pretrip report. I am glad you met up with her. I can't wait to hear about Si Fi. We ate ther for lunch one day. I enjoyed your update as usual.
It is nice that you had time to yourself. I like the pictures of you waiting for the boat. We stayed at Boardwalk in 2006 and your pictures reminded me of when we rode the boats there.
I have had a busy weenkend too. We had Brennan's sleep over birthday party last night. The boys stayed up till 4:00am . I pretty much did too. Remember that I spent the first part of the week painting and staying up with a cranky teething baby. I am beyond exhausted. Tonight is Courtney's homecoming dance. I can't wait to see her leave with her boyfriend all dressed up. She is growing up soooooooooooooo fast. I am tearing up writing this. I will post a picture for you later. Her dress is pretty. She is sleeping at her friends house after so I don't have to wait up. Praise the Lord! I might go to bed at 8:00. I am so tired. It is really hard having a baby and a teenager. I have to wait up for one and get up with one.:scared1: This is funny. At Easter break Courtney took drivers ed. Grace learned to crawl that same week. I had one learning to crawl and one learning to drive.

I just wanted to say hi. I am from Louisiana too. Disney Tiger is doing a great job with her trip report. I hope you stick around. I am from New Iberia.

I love the pictures of the Y&BC pool! Ahh I can't wait to be there in December!

I also love the shot of the kids on the dock...very cute!

I have an Ariel photo just like Aubrey's :) It was taken before the kids were born, when DH and I went to see the West coast Mouse in 1998. It was my first time meeting my favorite Princess, and just like Aubrey, I went all shy when it got to be my turn! LOL! So I totally understand! :)

Lovin' the updates, and love the new ticker/countdown! :yay:

I just realized that I didn't respond to your post. Don't know how I missed it! So sorry about that. I sure would never ignore you on purpose:)

Aubrey loved seeing Ariel. She started to warm up to the characters during the trip. I just have to remember meeting Ariel to her would be like me meeting, lets just say NKOTB, and going all bashful:rotfl: Sorry, I have New Kids on the brain right now. Stay posted and see why:lovestruc

The lollipop thing was pretty funny and I love that picture. It's certainly worth a thousand words. They did love the rides, more than I expected them to. The concert was unbelievable. I'm so glad I went.

Wow! That thank you for reading all of my ramblings! That must have taken you a while:surfweb: I'm so glad you did! I promise I usually post more often than I have this weekend. I've just been busy re-falling in love with NKOTB!

Thanks for subbing in!

Can I come with you in December??? I need to be back there.

The shot on the dock was a fluke but it came out really cool!

Well, I'm back from New Orleans. That went ENTIRELY too fast. I :sad1: when I had to leave. Seriously. I was NOT expecting that to happen!

So....one of my friends went to the same concert as you on Saturday night. And another one of my friends is going tonight (in Dallas I think). I guess it was a good concert.

Ack! You just posted...gotta go read it!

Hello everyone! Hope all is well. I am curled up in my bed trying to get some sleep but can't. I am so wound up from my exciting outting last night. I am going off topic here and hope that I don't bore some of you to death. I have a feeling there are a few 30 somethings out there that will grately appreciate this post.

Ok, so a few months ago, a friend of mine who lives in New Orleans asked me if I wanted tickets to go see New Kids on the Block. I'm not quite sure how to describe to you the love affair that I once shared with these boys. I was in 7th and 8th grade and had a severely unhealthy obsession with them. My walls were covered with pictures and I literally listened to their tape until it broke! When my friend asked me if I wanted to go to this show, I said sure. Why not. It will be a fun trip down memory lane. Let me just tell you, I am now officially in love with them again, specifically Jordan Knight. We are getting married.

They put on an awesome show. I have to say that I was a bit skeptacle. I wasn't sure how they would be. After all, it's been 15 years! Well, they sure suprised me. They are in probably the best shape they've ever been in and really put on an awesome show. Not too shabby! I just have to share these pics and then I promise to get back to my report tomorrow. I just need to revel in the memory for one more night. Ok, so here goes....

The show starts and I literally had tears in my eyes. Why in the world was I reacting this way??? I was instantly transformed back into a 14 year old with big bangs!!!
nkotb040.jpg

One of the first songs was The Right Stuff. Here they are doing the famous dance, which incidentally, I know every move of!
nkotb054.jpg

Awwwww, Joey Joe is all grown up...
nkotb046.jpg

Then they suprised us by coming out and performing in the middle of the crowd, 50 feet away from us. OMG!!!!! Jordan was absolutely singing to me. No doubt about it:love:

After this, they came out and sang their first number one hit "I'll be loving you forever." Uhhhhh, I'm still hoarse from screaming.

Here are some good shots from the end of the show...

Ok, and here's the best part. While it was not the finale of the show, it was defintely the best part for me. I now have a new wallpaper on my computer.

Ok, Ok, I'll stop now. I do apologize to anyone that just got nautious due to my teenage-like rantings. It was so fun to feel like that again. Ahhhhh, to be 14 and convinced that I would one day be Mrs. Knight. Nah, I'm happy just the way I am, but it sure was fun while it lasted!!!!!

PROMISE, more Disney tomorrow. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest:rotfl:

I want to hear all about it!!! Hope you had some good food. You couldn't have asked for better weather while you were here. It was BEAUTIFUL this weekend. Did y'all go to Bourbon? We were there last night after the concert. I couldn't tell you the last time I was there. It was packed, girls everywhere from the concert!!! Glad you had a good time. Sorry in advance for the OT post:rolleyes1

I am glad you had fun. Sometimes we mommies just need to get away. I went to bed Saturday night before the LSU game was over. I thought they had lost until last night. I swear when I asked Faron when he came to bed if LSU had lost he said yes. My friend told me last night they had won. I heard Faron wrong. I was just so tired. I went to bed last night at 8:30. I hope I am all caught up on my sleep now.

The bus ride over to DHS was pretty uneventful as far as I can remember. One interesing thing did happen. First, there were not enough seats so DH and I were split up. He sat with Brendan and I had Aubrey. We were sitting next to a nice lady who admired our LSU Tigger/Tiger shirts and said that she was pulling for the Tigers in the game that night. She was an immediate friend:) Aubrey was a bit squirmy and kept asking me to take her shoe and sock off. I figured she had an itch so I told her it was ok. There seemed to be nothing wrong so I made her put it back ok. The lady next to me pointed out the fact that there was a huge splinter in her foot!:scared1: Yeah, I didn't see that. Mother of the year, right here. I felt so bad. Of course, I didn't have any tweezers on me so I would have to deal with it later. She was walking ok and not complaining anymore. I felt about 2" tall though can I tell you!

After a few minutes, we pulled up to Hollywood Studios. Our ADR was for 6:00 and it was around 5:30 so we leisurly walked towards our destination - Sci-Fi! I was so excited about this. I think we have eaten here on every trip and I couldn't wait to show the kids. As we walked towards the sourcerers hat, I snapped this pic without Jason even knowing. It came out pretty funny...

disneyday2-2063.jpg

Here's something that I had never seen. The Pixar area was new to us so we were excited.

We finally made it to
disneyday2-2077.jpg

and chcked in.

We decided to wait outside by the car and let the kids burn off some steam. It's amazing how much fun they can have playing in a fake car that doesn't do anything!
disneyday2-2081.jpg

They call our name and we head in. Our car was all the way across the restaurant near the wall, right next to the exit. This would come in very handy by the end of our meal. We were seated in front of a cute older couple, Aubrey and I in the front seat, and Jason and Brendan in the middle seat. The couple was in the back seat. I had decided to order Aubrey her own meal this time so that Jason and I could be free to get what we wanted. And we did. I ordered Aubrey a pizza, Jason got a Blue cheese wedge and steak salad, and I got a steak! Brendan was getting increasingly fussy but I just blamed it on the fact that he must have been hungry. Our food came but Brendan would not eat. He was miserable. He obviously was not feeling well and was letting us, and everyone around us, know it! Well, the cute little couple behind us was not amused and kept shooting us evil stares.:headache: Meanwhile, Aubrey is enjoying her pizza and getting a kick out of all of the movie clips that were playing on the big screen. She got a bit scared of a few of them, but for the most part was distracted by her pizza. Eventually, Jason decided to get his food to go and took Brendan out. Aubrey and I would finish our meals and come meet him. This is when all hell seemed to break loose. After Jason left with Brendan, Aubrey finished up her meal. I guess she was now able to focus all of her attention on the movie clips. Ok, let me just tell you, she is not a fan of the colossal man!!!! I could tell things were headed in a bad direction so I called Jason to come back in and get her while I paid the bill. By the time he made it back to our table, she was in hysterics. And when I say hysterics, I mean, she was standing in the aisle between the cars, frozen in fear, screaming like someone was ripping off her fingernails! Seriously, her screams really could have been dubbed into some of those movies and no one would notice. And this was not a cute little "Oh, how funny. She doesn't like the movies." No, people around us were in shock. I think they thought something was really wrong with her. I did not receive any smiles of understanding or compassion. They were more like, "get that crazy kids out of here" kinds of stares. Which we did, immediately. I got all of our food together (we had each been able to take 2 bites) and vacated that place asap! It was horrible. I felt so bad. She STILL talks about those movies and begs me to never take her back there. Uhhhhhh, I never even considered the fact that this may have been a scary place for the kids!

Jason and I were besides ourselves and headed for the gates. Our plan was to walk back to the resort instead of taking the boat in hopes to calm the kids down. Even in our haste to get out of the park, I managed to snap this pic and it turned out to be one of my favorites. Looks like a postcard...

disneyday2-2084-1.jpg

We made it to the path that took us back to the Boardwalk and our hotel and all was well. Brendan fell asleep instantly, poor little man. Aubrey loved looking at all of the reflections on the water. Jason and I just shook our heads and laughed the whole thing off. Wow, lesson learned!

We got to the boardwalk and I ran into my DIS friend again. They asked us how dinner went so we had to share the story. Aubrey also shared her feelings by saying "big man bad!!!" That's what did it, the Colossal Man. What silly movie, but man she hated it! We headed off to our hotel and all I could think about was that whirlpool tub. It was calling my name.

What a night! When we got back home, the kids were beyond tired and went to sleep immediately after their baths. I was beginning to have DIS withdrawls and decided to get out my laptop. Being DVC members, we got free internet but I could not find the ethernet cord anywhere. I ended up having to call the front desk and someone sent it up. I was so happy to get onine and check email. I poured myself a glass of wine and got out some Chex Mix. It was nice to unwind. Time flew and I realized it was probably time for bed. I was excited about the next day and we all needed our rest. We settled into bed and were asleep in an instant!

Up next, Animal Kingdom and a dream granted!

Awwwwwww I am sorry about Si Fi. Poor Aubrey. I hope she didn't get bad dreams from this. Did you remember to take out her splinter? Grace acted up when we ate there too. Faron took her out and I finally got to finish my food.

The picture you snapped on the way out is beautiful. It really does look like a postcard.

We got to disney on October 4th after I drove all night. I did stop and take a 30 minute power nap outside a gas station. We celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday while we were there. We had a blast!!!

Belinda

I loved your NKOTB story. I'm glad their show was a success!!!!

That picture of the hat as you're leaving is AMAZING!!!

I'm sorry Sci-Fi didn't go well. :sad2:
It's tough to guess ahead of time what will scare kids. :confused3
Hannah has really surprised us with some of the thinks she has paniced over.

I'm so glad you had a great time at the concert!!! :cheer2:
The photos are great! I really enjoyed hearing about it!

You are sorry for the OT post? As if this post is not off topic? I'm not even the TR author!

Gotta start with a JFK story....I know you love those! :rotfl:
Anyways...let's see I flew in Friday night. Last week was a beast. Between Monday evening and Friday I got a combined 19 hours of sleep. I was so tired I was a mess. I got confused using a metrocard (train pass...something I NEVER mess up!) and it jammed in the machine on the way to the airport. The guy needed pliers to pull it out. By the time I got to the airport and through security it was 7:20 and my flight was boarding at 7:35. The TSA people were yelling at people on the line to go away and wait in another line and the TSA lady was getting mad because nobody was moving and yeah it was just another evening at JFK. The gate agent couldn't pronounce New Orleans so it was like "Flight 115 to *turns away to read the sign* N... N... New Or... Le... Ans. is boarding now at Gate 10." :headache: You'd think, being in NEW York, he'd at least get the "New" part down without too much trouble, but no. Maybe it was his first day?

Anyways the flight was fine. I slept most of the way :woohoo: so I was actually somewhat coherent when I arrived. I woke up early enough to see us fly over Lake Ponchartrain and the cars on the causeway and the moon shining off the water and some swamp on the edge by the airport. Landing was so smooth I didn't even realize we had touched down. The airport has a sign "We're jazzed you're here!" I decided I'd be jazzed if I could find a bathroom. :rotfl: Turns out, I WAS jazzed when I found the bathroom. They have AUTOMATIC SEAT COVERS! Who knew? :rotfl:

Anyways...my friends picked me up and took me to their house. They live down in St. Bernard Parish. So it was a little bit of a drive, but they have a really nice house. And they have furniture from the Wilderness Lodge (you know how they sell the hotel furniture when they renovate).

Well on Saturday my friend drove me around Chalmette, Meraux, and the Lower 9th Ward to show me Katrina's wrath and to see some swamp and pelicans. It's still really bad down there. :sad1: Their block is mostly occupied with people in houses, but a lot of the others are not. It's really quiet down there.

Then we had a BBQ. It was at this point I was introduced to the Louisiana way of BBQing. Good food...I'm still full. There were like 10 people there. After some of them left, 4 of us went up to the Lake to look at it. Then we went to eat at someplace in Bucktown...I think that's where we were. Then we went back to their house and I got to go in the attic. I was laughing so hard at this because it was full of Mardi Gras beads and cups and stuffed animals..etc. She let me take some. I even found a little stuffed Piglet. I was like "LOOK! I FOUND PIGLET! THERE HE IS!" :rotfl:

Saturday we went to get beignets and coffee and we went to the Riverwalk and the French Quarter and the French Market and then we rode the streetcar. Oh and I got to learn how to pronounce Tchoupitoulas. That could come in really handy some day, I'm sure. :lmao:

It was wayyyyy too short. I had a great time with my friends and I saw a little bit of the city but there's a LOT I didn't see. Next trip we'll go to City Park and St. Charles Avenue and some other places. And hopefully the weather will be just as nice - it was awesome! :goodvibes

Okay, you got way more than you bargained for. You did say you wanted to know all about it, right? :rotfl:

Hey Girl! Cool NKOTB photos! Your love of this group shines shines shines! ;) I hope your DH isn't too jealous LOL!

DisneyTiger:
Your story is just wonderful, I love the one about Aubrey and her first time to see the castle, that is just priceless... plus how she loved Pooh and Peter Pan. Your children are so cute.
Thanks for the cute picture of us. That was so much fun seeing you. We also enjoyed seeing you on the BoardWalk, Rae was a little upset at me because I didn't share with her how precious your children were and she really wanted to play with them at Stromalong Bay. (She's such a great Babysitter) I'm really enjoying your pictures and looking forward to more.
Oh yea, I'm a little old for The NKOTB but I do remember their music and just loved it. Your pictures are great.. How much fun that would have been.
Thanks for everything....
