Turn down service

Trivial, I know, but does anyone know if they still have the turn down service (if requested) at the Beach Club Resort?

I know turn down generally comes standard with CL. I have never heard of otherwise being able to request it (but if you can that's awesome!).

My understanding is that turn down service is now only available at club level rooms. I think it used to be a perk at all the deluxe level resorts but now it is restricted to club level only. I don't know if it can be requested at non-club level rooms. When we stayed at the Grand Californian in 2004 we had turn down service in a standard theme park view room. When we returned in 2006, turn down was at club level only. We had turn down at Animal Kingdom Lodge last year but we were staying club level.

Please educate me....what does turn down service do? I assume open up your sheets and fold over which takes two seconds...so I am missing what else they do that is worthwhile? Thanks, always wondered about this!

When I was at the GF in a regular room, turn down was automatically included and they removed the quilt (quilts no longer used), left chocolate on the pillows, closed the drapes and left a lamp on so we could see when we came in at night. On my CL stay at AKL they did all of the above and turned on the tv which was a total waste of electricity. Plus they always left it on what I called the pig channel because there was a wild pig in the corner with animal facts, which was annoying if I had left the tv in a station thinking I would catch a show when I got since the parks were closing early.

All in all, it is not a service I would go out of my way to request or pay extra for.

The other thing we had when we had turn down service at the GF was a change of towels if we had taken showers in the afternoon. Also at the GF the had little fact cards that they left with pictures from Alice in Wonderland.

In November we were not CL at the GF but had turn down service even though our room service was a nightmare. We were gone all day and kept coming back to uncleaned rooms but turned down beds with chocolate on our pillows.

We always requested and got turn down service in a regular room at the Poly. The last time was 2014. Not sure if it's changed. You just call housekeeping when you get in your room and they add you to their rounds. We always needed towels for more showers and it worked out great to get a fresh set every evening.

I'm almost positive I saw it listed as a benefit of either the premium dining plan or the platinum as well.

I was going to say that. It's lucky enough to get regular housekeeping these days at a Disney resort. Don't think I would want to try to get them to come back.

I may or may not have thrown a fit since our mousekeeping envelope was always gone every day like magicpixiedust:, but no one bothered to even just take out the garbage or change the towels. :furious:

I was at the BWI in March, and called housekeeping to ask about turndown. I was told it's only offered for club level rooms. (insert sad face) I like having it, since sometimes we shower in the afternoon, and it's nice to have fresh towels for the morning.

That trip, our room was more than I've ever paid at Disney (even with 30% discount plus extra Orbitz discount) so odds are no more deluxe resorts for me any longer! Not worth it for just a place for me and DD to sleep!
