Hi Everyone, I am new to the DISboards. I thought that I knew alot of things about Disney but I was wrong. I need your help. Is there Turn Down Service at the BoardWalk Villas? I know that you can pay for daily housekeeping but can you get TDS and is there a charge? We are going to WDW in August & I would like to know. The kids would get a kick out of it! Thanks!

We asked for turn down service last Sept. and were told NO!!!! Are you renting points or did you booked though CRO? We booked though CRO and daily housekeeping was included.

Turndown service is not available at values, mods or home away from home accomodations (ie villas and cabins).

Just to add to what Tammi said, the only Resorts you can ge turn down is at the Deluxe Resorts. It is an automatic service on the Club Level floors, so if your on a regular floor you have to call and request it. However I think I read some where that the Grand Floridian is the only Deluxe Resort to offer turn down service as to all guests (without requesting it) and not just the Club Level guests.

I didn't use that terminology in this situation, because it can lead to even more confusion. The Boardwalk is considered a deluxe resort, so it's easy to make the assumption that what's applicable to the Inn would be true for the villas.

I understand where your coming from, so I thought I would post what I said for others who are not sure about turn down service.

Besides I think if you read the post the OP and yourself clearly said the Boardwalk Villas, so no mention to the Deluxe side of the Resort.

Clear to us, but not necessarily to someone new ;) . Even after years on the DIS, there's still some Disney terminology that confuses me.

We received turndown service on our 2 bedroom BWV this April every night for 9 nights. They even did the sofa bed! My friend who was in a studio called and asked and also received it after she saw ours. I requested it on the first night and tipped very well every day. We reserved through CRO and paid money, not points. Maybe it depends on who is working that week? It is definately a request thing, not automatic.

Considering others have requested it and been told no, I would say that it does depend on who is working. Sounds like it's definitely worth a phone call to housekeeping though.

Thanks everyone for your input. I used my points but I am going to ask. I think it's worth a shot, all they can say is no. All I really want is the beds made each and not full blown housekeeping. Maybe that may be an option? I'll let you know when we returnprincess:

There are some "pay as you go" items like replenishing toiletries or towels more often, but I didnt' see anything separate for just making the beds. You might have to pay the full cleaning rate, which could be between $30 and $75 per day requested, based on teh unit you have.

We are staying in a 1 bedroom. I thought that I saw somewhere that daily housekeeping was $25/day. That sort of stinks that members have to pay for daily housekeeping. Maybe there is a different rate for members? I am going to inquire about it and I'll let everyone know. Thanks so much for the info! I love this place!!!

Members pay for any extra days beyond what's included. For a 1 bedroom unit, that's $45 per day requested. Guests who go through CRO don't pay anything. It's treated more like a hotel suite, with daily housekeeping included in the nightly rate.

$25 was for a studio, it has since gone up to $30. Housekeeping is paid for through member dues on points reservations, so to keep the dues cost down, DVC has limited housekeeping and allows those who want the service to pay separate ("pay as you play" program). I've been a member for almost 8 years and like the limited housekeeping. I don't want or need someone in my room everyday. When you pay cash for the room through CRO, the cost of daily housekeeping is included in the room rate, I wouldn't say it's "free".
