Any Twilight fans here ???

DD and I loved the first movie and are biting at the chomp for the next one.

SADLY it will be opening night the night before the cruise - so I am going to be sitting at the Hyatt :)

what are the chances that DCL will premier the "NEW MOON" zilch right - sigh

I can tell you that on Sunday ( the day we get back to NH ) my butt is going to be at the movies!!

Sorry, no. What school is she in?

Karen

She is a professor in the medical school-her speciality is infertility. . I was a nanny for her and her husband- Matt Gornet, Ortho Spine Surgeon (he has his own practice in St. Louis), while they studied at John's Hopkin's Univ. Med School, here in Baltimore. Awesome couple with awesome kids! So, I have visited St. Louis many times and almost went to Wash U. . I ended up staying with my DH in Baltimore when they moved.

I'm a hugh fan. . getting ready to read book 4 and I am so upset that the movie is being released on Friday. . I might be at the movie theater at Port Canaveral to see it prior to leaving. . unless they have it on the ship? Is there any way to find out the movies that will be showing?

BTW-- We are staying at the Raddison the night before, is anyone else? We have a 10am shuttle to the ship.

Happy Saturday everyone! Just got home from DD's baby shower. Was a nice way to end a stressful week.

As for Alaska, I have always wanted to go there, but, I can only imagine how expensive Disney would be for it compared to other cruise lines.

I'd love to learn to play Bunco!

As far as the med school -- it's the 800 pound gorilla around WashU and since I'm on the Hilltop (I mean Danforth campus) I don't go over there all that much. Sorry, can't say that I know either of them (and blissfully, I no longer need fertility treatments!).

I'm in too. Not a clue how to play.

(and blissfully, I no longer need fertility treatments!).

Amen to that.

Back to Patch swaps - I planed some GS thinking days and also a father daughter dance for our cluster. I'll bring some of the extras I have left over to swap. Don't know what else to do with them.

I read all the Twilight books b/c dd wanted to read them and I thought I should first b/c of all the discussion about them. I'm still not sure what I thought about it. Its not like my addiction to Harry Potter.

Have we added any more sailors to our group yet? DH and the kids still want to have a turkey cruise regatta at castaway cay with 1adult/1kid teams some time in the afternoon. They want me to order trophies, but I've been holding off to see if there was any more interest.

I'd love to go to alaska too! Some day.

Tell me more about this regatta.....

Just learned what a Regatta was last spring. My daughter took up crew last January. Her school took first in State and she ended racing at Nationals in May in a light weight 8 boat (came in 10th). Unfortunately she has given it up already this year. She is a junior, part of a professional performance group, has 3AP classes and the rest GH and could just not see another 20+ hours a week in her schedule. She loved it though.

Don't think she will want to give up hanging with the teens at CC to race.....

Hello everyone...

Bunco at sea would be fun!! We could do it in the Promenade Lounge one day.

Sorry to dampen hope, but there is no way that New Moon will be shown onboard; it is not a Disney/Pixar flick. We'll get the new Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey and there is a premiere that week with (I think) Jim Travolta and Tim Allen (a comedy.) G-Force should still be showing as well as leftover summer movies.

The movie is actually premiering at MIDNIGHT Thursday night, so you intrepid fools could catch that one before your travel day to MCO. (Hey, you could sleep on the plane that way.) Also, if you have a car and are in Orlando, you could go out to either Downtown Disney or Universal's Citywalk and catch it there. Citywalk has a "movie and a meal" deal for $21.95 which is a bargain for this (or any) town.

I'd like to hear more about a regatta -- DexH and DD would most likely love to do this. Real kayaks/boats or toy ones? DD wants to do the Teen Wild Side excursion again. (There's a cool teen excursion in St. Martin but it doesn't say at what time it is so i don't want to mess up our whole day for a 1 hour excursion there.)

We are doing a day tour with Bernard in St. Martin -- was someone else going with him, too? pirate:

PS - in case I didn't say it: TEAM EDWARD:cloud9:

DD is Team Jacob. She is studying "congruent angles" and such in geometry and needed some examples... I suggested making a drawing of Jacob's abs :rotfl: She was all for that

^ we will be at our condo that night - not sure if we can do that - but I know for sure that I can probably (PROBABLY) wait till I get back to NH

OH my yes I am totally a TEAM EDWARD
DD is a TEAM JACOB - she has him on her screen saver and wallpaper!! ehehe

Leah is Team Jacob as well. He's all lined up in her master plan of 5 husbands. Kevin Jonas and some singer from the Maine are two more of her DH's. Can't remember who the last two are. :rotfl:

I haven't read Twilight. Is that a good book for the cruise???? It's been so long since I have read for pleasure so I'm looking for something good. Any other recommendations?

We've decided to go to MVMCP the night before the cruise. Today is DS(now 14) birthday so we're giving it to him for his birthday present. He'll be so excited because he really wants to go and we originally told him no.

Here's the card I made for him -- didn't have a lot of time so the edges aren't as clean as i would like. But, he won't care.:goodvibes

:cloud9:I think Twilight is a great book - I saw the film first with DD and loved it - DD had read the entire series and warned me when I started it I would be hooked. I started reading New Moon last night at 10 - at 1am this morning I was still reading (over 200+ pages down!) - I am usually a 10ish bedtimer - so I am hooked - I love the way she writes - I actually feel as I am in the book watching it unfold.

I am supposed to go to the gym in a half hour - but I was thinking of a nice sunday afternoon reading session - ehehehe - with a nice nap! :cloud9:

I have two more books to read after this on the series - DD feels I won't be able to wait till the cruise to read the last one -

Alwayslisad,

I agree with you DD. Once you get started... I think the last book was the best. Can't wait for the new movie to come out.

Elsie

I have decided I am putting the last book away tonite - right by my PACKING stuff - I plan on reading that book on our first SEA day in Quiet Cove - oh my - blissful Magic!!!

Always good to bring books, but I have noticed that I generally don't finish as many as I would have liked on the cruises...seems there are always other things to do...

But now we are out for the night as we are off to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band....best live show ever in my opinion....last year they were still doing a full 3 hours.
