Turkey Day Gang 2009

Love the prom pics and her dress. She looks so happy. I hope she had lots of fun. The boat and the lake were beautiful and what a great setting.

As for airfare, I don't know. I wish I could help. I'm only hoping for southwest to come out for a good fare to get us back home. We're flying down on Air Tran. Right now the Air Tran rate to come home is $209. Gotta love Thanksgiving weekend. If I wait till Tuesday 12/1, I can get $67. Something wrong with that.

We went and did our passport applications this morning. Another step in the right direction.

Been looking at hotels in Port Canaveral to stay at for the 2 nights before the cruise and a rental car to get from MCO on Thursday night and for driving around on Friday. Will be spending that day with my aunt and uncle and cousin who live in Orlando. Plan on getting the rental back Friday evening to avoid paying the additional day when we really don't need it.

Happy Mother's Day!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

YEAH! I just booked our airfare for our flight from BWI to MCO!!!!! $67 each on Air Tran. Now hoping that somehow we'll get good airfare to come back. We're going to fly now!

We're not driving !!!!! YEAH!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I know you're psyched about that! Congrats! Our Airtran price from Richmond going down is $69, but coming back on Saturday $144 (and not leaving MCO till 7pm). I'm thinking we might still drive. Last year, I held out till the last minute and got a HUGELY discounted fare. I guess it will depend on how the economy is and how the airlines are doing come November. I never mind the drive down to Orlando, its the drive home thats AWEFUL!!

Oh, and we recieved our Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party tickets in the mail Friday!!!!!!

Jodie

Wow - found a $79 return flight from MCO to Richmond on Saturday direct, but its at 9:25am. Disney tells me that there is no way I'll make that flight since the earliest we disembark is 7:30 + it can take time to get through customs.

Anyone taken an early flight before post cruise?

Jodie

Oh Jodie. What a shame it's not just a little later.

I would do the drive too if we had to. We're about 3.5 hrs north of Richmond, depending on traffic (of course, we all know how the D.C. traffic is).

ok I did it - I booked the JetBlue - $1000 for the three of us - we leave Boston on the 15th and back on the 28th -- my worry now is the depature flight from MCO to BOS is at 12:18 - if we have first seating and breakfast is early in the morning on saturday - we should have plenty of time to get through all the security - right?

I hope to use the new Disney luggage thing for our return flight - so that will save time too.. I hope....

:confused3

help??

we booked Jet Blue this week too! $1300 for the four of us from Syracuse. Going down on the Thursday was only $94 each but coming home on the Saturday was a bear! :( Anyway, we're getting into Orlando at 10 am Thursday morning!!

Coming home, our flight doesn't leave till 6pm...we'll have to find something to do all day!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all our Moms!!!

Hi everyone,

Sorry, I've been away for a bit. I had a lot of pages to read through to get caught up. Just wanted to stop in and say Happy Mom's day to all the moms.

Karen

I would be very careful about early flights out, no matter which seating you have. You can arrange to be on the first group off the ship, but there is still customs which can be very quick, or not, depending on what you may have purchased, then the bus ride and then security etc...From past comments, even though we drive, we know plenty who have flown...anything before noon is very risky and mid afternoon may mean sitting in the airport a bit, but it also means not stressing yourself trying to rush to the plane...just my 2 cents.

A belated Happy Mother's Day to all who are so blessed!!!

trace, not much to do around the port. But if you could rent a car for the day, you could go over to Downtown Disney and shop around for a little while and get a bite to eat. That would be too bad if you kept up the Disney experience a little longer.;):thumbsup2:woohoo:

My experience with Customs is this, a piece of cake. Like Lisa said, it depends on what you buy. Pretty much, all I have ever had to do is drop the piece of paper in the box or tray and go on my way.

We are also considering a late flight as well (7pm). I was wondering the same thing. Depending on the weather, we could always spend a day at the beach???

Jodie

Well, if you are on Disney transportation, I doubt that a day at the beach is viable, though it might be so i suggest asking, but i think more likely you will be able to do something near Lake Buena Vista.

This is true - wouldn't work with Disney trans. We take cbshuttle.com. They will pick up anywhere in Cape Canaveral and transport you to the airport.

Jodie

We're thinking of foregoing the Disney transportation and get a car for the day. Downtown Disney would be good...how about Seaworld? Would it be worth it to go there?

You can get a day room at the Hyatt MCO for around $75 and just kick back and relax:thumbsup2 or hit up the pool:cool1:

I didn't know you could do that - good to know!! I don't remember seeing their pool. Is it nice? I'm guessing its indoors??

Jodie

hi all!

Question for you..I ordered our bands and they have given me a new suggestion..

They have new bands that are white on the outside, blue on the inside. When engraved, the blue shows up (blue on white). They thought this was neat and wondered if we'd like it.

Not to throw a fly in the ointment, but what do you think? Have any of you ordered them in blue yet..if so, we'd stick with the original plan too, cause the idea was for everyone to have the same colour.

I told them we'd think about it and get back to them.

:rolleyes1

Oops...just been told the two-colour band does not come in youth sizes, so we're back to blue, like before...

Okay, I"m outta here before I confuse myself and others anymore...
