Turkey Day Gang 2009

Congratulations! I was hoping you would post soon. I love the name Cameron.

Oh, and I should mention... the rest of our group is booked for the early dinner and the new room is booked for the late dinner. Hopefully we can get that fixed. Has anyone had any luck switching dinner times? We listed just two of us in the new room, one adult and one child.

On our last cruise we requested early seating but only late was available at booking, however, we did end up with the early seating at 6pm. We didn't know that until we got to port though.

Don't you have a big group going? Is it possible to book one of your children with your parents rather than getting another room?

We just added my uncle to our group and he's booked late dinner too but they told me not to worry about, it he'd get bumped up with us. BUT, I still haven't made myself cancel my brother in law's family's room or my inlaw's rooms. (MIL finally told me Sunday for certain that they are canceling). They are adjoining cat6's and its killing me to cancel since the price on each room went up $1200, but that will release 6 early dinner seatings. I guess I should just do it. Still, it pains me.

My mom had to cancel as well. :( She was really excited at first to be going on her first cruise, but I think her hip replacement last fall has really taken a lot out of her.

We have four families mixed up in four different cabins so we could all get the rebooking deal. I hope it's not too much of a pain once we get onboard to put everyone's charges on their own card, and to get room keys for the room they'll actually be staying in.

I'm thrilled that they extended the buy four/get three nights free offer through August. We just booked a 7 night trip over the July 4th holiday! :cool1:

On the pic of the day thread it shows a KIOSK for pics - are they on the MAGIC now? we will be able to view our Shutters pics there and only have printed what we want? does anyone know?

Hello all...I have not been on in awhile, though Lisa has been keeping up w/things. That said, come this summer, I will put together the dinner link once again. It will definitely be late seating and I will probably try for one of the earlier two rotations rather than the last one, depending on how the nights fit with the current schedule...and dining rotations have been known to change on short notice, but I will do what I can.

If Lisa has not already posted, we will actually be taking a cruise on Liberty of the Seas later this summer just to try something different. Lisa of course has already established herself on the cruise critic version of disboards relative to that cruise.

Chuck

Check with Lampy he said that he was handling it:confused3 see page 73 post 1083 looks like everyone is already linked.

Rob

Chuck or Lampy, thanks for getting us all linked. We're quite grateful.

Lisa, I'm jealous...you have to tell me about the Liberty of the Seas! One day we will live in FL and will take cruises just because we are close to the port too!

Karen

I was able to link all of our ressies with my "girlfriend". We wanted the rotation that gave us Parrot Cay on pirate night and Luminares on Thanksgiving....Just seemed the thing to be dressed up on Turkeyday....BTW I ALWAYS tell this story when people ask about late and early....On our second sailing we had just got back from a GREAT day of shore excursions and I had a beverage in my hand heading to the internet cafe to check on DDs when I heard a bunch of people yelling and running down the stairs, yep, G-parents , husband, wife and kids....Mom yelling "hurry up we are going too be late!" Dont know about you but 2 teen girls and my DW....there is a LOT of "stuff" going on prior to dinner.....:rotfl2: Also remember, 1 time zone to Florida for us and 2 more changes on the eastern sailing, so 5:30 is 2:30...8"30 is 5:30 for us FYI

Hey Ron you might want to check with everyone before you start linking everyone up on a particular dining rotation:scared: At this point some people may want early seating and we are looking at a particular night that we want to do Palo.

It's funny b/c we actually looked at other options for a "summer vacation". We looked at cruises to Alaska and family camps around the U.S.. However, once you added airfare and hotels, the prices were out of our budget. Liberty sails right from Miami and there are a lot of kid friendly activities on board. :thumbsup2

Lisa

Hey Lampy, if April and myself aren't linked with everyone yet, we would like to be linked. Not sure when you took care of it.

Had to look back at 3 pages of posts!!! Been away for a little while. April and I have been busy with wedding plans. Only 2 major things left to take care of!!! Invitations and caterer. This cruise will be a welcome break!!!:woohoo:

Nine months from today, we will arrive at MCO for our stay at the Hyatt!:cool1: (I always love that night. We're usually too excited to sleep!) Sounds like a Disney commercial.:rotfl:

Priscilla

Hi all...we just made reservations to go to WDW arriving on the 4th of July, staying for a week at the Wilderness Lodge. Gotta love that 4/3 offer!

Karen

Karen - we're taking advantage of the same offer at the same time! :thumbsup2 July 3 through July 10 at POFQ. :cool1:

My family and I have not cruised since the summer of 2006, but we have booked and are paying on a Turkey Day Cruise in 2010. We looked at doing a Thanksgiving Cruise in 2009, but it was too much money too quickly.

My wife had to cook a 32 lb. turkey last year. She's going to boycott soon if I don't give her a reason to do another turkey. Besides, I'm looking forward to having a Thanksgiving holiday without the cleanup for once.

Keep checking pricing. I wouldn't be surprised if the cat 12 was discounted at some point.

On another note, is anyone planning to do MVMCP Christmas party the night before the cruise (Karen, I think you mentioned you might)? We've never done it, and it looks like fun.

Woohoo :)

I just booked (via email) my two excursions for St. Thomas and St. Marten -

We are going to do the tour with Bernard in St. Marten and Burlie in St. Thomas.....

I read some of the reviews on both of these and they were good - so lets HOPE!!!

Oh boy...another thing to plan...shore excursions!!!! Hmm....need to add that to the "to do" list too.

Karen

If anyone wants the information on the two excursions I booked let me know - they are very inexpensive and all day trips - shopping swimming and siteseeing!
