Turkey Day Gang 2009

Hi all!

Jodie, how did the kids like camp? Andrew has been dying to know.

Jen, your daughter is absolutely adorable and I love the dress!

Good to know about Southwest...now if I can just get some decisions made around here....:rolleyes1

Your daughter is adorable. Love those red curls. Did you make her dress? Love it!!!!! Hope you find a good deal. I got an email last week with a PIN for $1284 for 5 days/4 nights with tix and dining for 4 people. I'd love to get a room only code - even to just stay onsite without going to a park would be nice. Since we won't be staying onsite - I'll probably use some Marriott points.

I was down in Annapolis last week and I'm going back down on Sunday night - for work. I stay there when I need to be there more than 1 day. 2 hr drive in traffic gets tiring.

Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I did make it... I'm making a bunch of outfits for DD3 and a few for the other kids. I post regularly on the Disboutiquers Thread. Some incredible Disney custom outfits are crafted by the ladies on that thread.

It hasn't been so great here in Annapolis lately... hot, stormy and buggy. The mosquitos have been breeding by the millions with all this rain.

formal night- DH and the boys will be wearing suits. The boys will have suits for DS13's Bar Mitzvah in August so I want them to get my $$$ worth. I don't know what I'll be wearing yet.

As for pirate night- no idea. DS9 might bring along his Captain jack hat/wig that he wore for Halloween this past year. Never know about 13 yr olds and what they will do and won't do.

How many:

will dress up for formal night:

will dress up for Pirate night:

We are definitely in for pirate night. I'm wondering how formal an 8yo boy needs to be. I'm definitely not buying him a suit. Would dressy khakis, dress shirt, tie and navy blazer be dressy enough? DH has a tux he will wear (if he can get into it :thumbsup2 )

Pirate night is a go for all three of us

Formal night is being debated right now - DH does not want to go full dress up like the past two times - he wants to be in a suit kind of outfit -
I have not decided yet what I am going to wear - (didn't get all the weight off that I wanted - hehe - bad me )
DD has so many beautiful gowns/dresses that she could dress up for the entire month of November

DH usually will wear either a suit or dress slacks, shirt, tie and navy blazer. DS will wear khakis, shirt, tie and navy blazer. Me, I usually wear a nice "church" type of dress as opposed to formal wear.

As far as pirate night...DS will dress up in something (at age 11, I think), but DS and I usually do not. Who has the room to pack all this stuff? I mean really, with all the swimsuits, sandals, shorts, etc....:rolleyes1!

Hope this helps.

Karen

Pirate night-Mason used to love to dress up. Last year he refused and would only wear a pirate t-shirt w/ cargo shorts. Chuck and I usually wear some sort of pirate t shirt and jeans---unless we are at Palo.

Formal night-Chuck will wear a suit, I will wear a dress (not a "formal" dress) and if Mason joins us, he will probably wear a button down shirt and khaki's--that is what he wore for Thanksgiving last year which is the semi formal night.

Hi all,

Well, Steve "thinks" :worship: he will have Thanksgiving week off! Andrew and I are on :cloud9: and can't stop :jumping1: and :love1: him!

I guess sometimes pixie dust can be found unexpectedly :tink:!

So, it looks like we may be going with the Turkeys again this year (fingers crossed)! :woohoo: Now, I have to get cracking on my fish extender gifts. Boy oh boy...do Andrew and I have a good idea this year!

Sign me a very, very happy Karen! :cheer2::dance3:

Hey Jodie,

Glad the kids had a great time! I'm hoping Andrew will go next year...I'd guess he and Cary would be in the same cabin. Who knows, if he does decide to go, we could pick up the kids at the airport and get them down to Rolla for you (you too, if you decide to come back to the heat!).

Karen

Formal night: I will wear my tux and my fiancee will wear a dress

Pirate night: I will wear a pirate t-shirt and my fiancee will wear a wench blouse and vest with a Goffy pirate hat

We may take you up on that. Its so nice for you to offer! I think the only week they can go next year is June 13th. My mother is taking the entire family to WDW - tentative date is June 19. How old will Andrew be next June - 11? Cary will be 12. I think they would get along well.

Random question for Mickeyhugger - I saw an old old old post of yours on a Mex Riviera thread. Did you guys ever do a Mex Riviera cruise? I read lots of negative feedback about that itinerary - bad ports and cool weather. Just wondering (its in the back of my mind for 2011).

Sorry for the digression - suppose we should get back to the upcoming trip. Its getting so close - can't wait!!!

We looked into the Mexican thing and decided that it was not for us. Water is to cool for our liking, ports look to be so so, and to much negative feed back all together.

Hi Jodie and all!,

We've got tons of flexibility with next year so I'll see what we can do as to the week for going to camp.

Well, gotta pack for a business trip....leaving for Lisbon, Portugal tomorrow and I need to figure out what to pack!

I'm thinking along the same lines as you.

Karen, have a great trip!!
