Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

I am doing up my gifts and I need to know if the following are boys or girls:

room 2582 - Grayson
room 2583 - Jordan
room 6570 - Mason
room 6582 - Mason
room 7008 - Taylor
For the LK4 family, are their two different Leah's (aage 14) in the two different rooms (5022 and 5520)

Thanks! Can't wait until next week.:cool1:

On the FE list, the names are color-coded: blue = boy ; pink = girl

Grayson, Mason & Mason are boys ; Jordan & Taylor are girls.
(yes, there are 2 Leah's)

BTW, we need your first names on the FE list....

Oh, now you want in on the FE's... I've only been talking them up to you for a year and a half!!! Some people may not be able to exchange with you b/c they have sealed and shipped their FE gifts or have run out of supplies (as I have). You'll need an actual Fish Extender (which I offered to make you a year ago... but no, now you want in a week before I leave - my sewing room is closed for business!) You know I'm just giving you a hard time, I'll help you guys come up with something if you are really interested.

Are you sure Dory wants to participate? She definitely doesn't get all this Dis Board stuff! Plus, the idea of coming up with something creative was stressing her out big time.

J,

You know D. I certainly don't want her to stress. However, I don't want to miss out on the fun! Give me a heads up on what I need to do. I'll run with this ball so D and the kids can relax. Anyway, many thanks to all for the warm welcome! As J stated we are lifelong friends and having our family's share this experience together is very special. Looking forward to meeting everyone. FYI...look for the bald guy that looks like Yul Brynner and no I don't buff my head that shine is indeed natural! :woohoo:

Got some news on what the weather will be like on cruise day. It may not be good. The weather channel's website is forecasting 60% of storms with a high temp of 80. These forecasts this far out tend to change. Let's hope that is the case for cruise day. Hey at least it will be warm!!!

Charlie

Praying for change in weather and something else:lmao::lmao:

Last year it was very cold (by Florida standards) the day we boarded. We wore jeans and sweatshirts. It was the only time it was too cold for Mason to swim after boarding. However, by the next day, the weather was picture perfect!! :thumbsup2

I updated the FE map to include the last few rooms additions.

At the top of the FE list, you will see 2 links -- one to the updated map (including the last few families who joined the FE) AND I also left the link to the original map.

FE room list

I know Wendy will include a map in the mini-nav onboard, too.

By my count, it appears there are currently 123 total people (children and adults) listed on the FE list. Please let me know if I am not correct. Thanks!!

Lisa

Lisa - Hope Mason feels better quickly.

I think all of you guys needs to put yourselves in bubbles for the next 8 days! Come on... we cannot have any of you getting sick now. Please, please, please feel better. Pixie dust and prayers to you all - Get better.

Elsie

Thank you very much Elsie!! He is already feeling better!! :thumbsup2 There is nothing like a boring afternoon at home doing the work that was missed at school to perk a child up!! ;) :)

I had my post surgery dr. appointment this afternoon!! According to my dr., I am the poster child for successful surgery recovery!! She was amazed at how well I was doing 9 days post surgery!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 Nothing like a family Bar Mitzvah and Disney cruise to help someone recover!! She gave me the green light to go back to work tuesday, as long as I promise to keep sitting to a maximum and driving to a minimum. :confused3 Also, no lifting heavy objects for a while...I guess Chuck and Mason will be in charge of the luggage next weekend!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

woohoo - it is official - I AM ON VACATION!! woohoo woohoo
:banana::banana:

I sure hope all that are feeling under the weather get better realllly soon!~

DH was back in ER this morning :( :scared1: not a good thing at all - we hope that the new meds will work as we are leaving in 1 day

DD texted me while I was in VT to tell me that she was sick to her stomach and felt like she was going to pass out ----

"OK JUST SHOOOOOT ME!!!!"

DH is now on the couch -- just had some chicken soup --
DD is at work -- and hopefully will make it through that - I think it is nerves as she is stressed over all the assignments her teachers packed on her for her time away from classes - I think they went overboard myself - so she is stressing trying to figure out how to do it all and still have fun... poor kid....
She said that even though she is #8 in her class and high honors -she is almost 99 % sure she will live at home and take her prelim classes at the tech - she said the cost of the tech compared to college is amazing...and she said she can still reach for the stars when she is ready :) also she loves working at the hospital and doesn't want to leave there - I have a good kid!! She is soooo excited about having her last week in the STACK - I hope it lives up to her expectations!! :flower3:

Lisa,

Tell everyone in the family to get well...and that it is an ORDER! My mom (she's a retired RN) used to tell everyone in our family that when we'd get sick and we'd politely thank Nurse Ratchet for her kind and caring compassionate nature....LOL!

Seriously though, please do tell everyone to get well. We want to see you all on the cruise and not hear about anyone missing anything!

Went to my mailbox at school today to find a little note to send home to the students:

A student in your grade level has shown flu-like symptoms...

After talking to my teammates come to find out that in the 3rd grade classroom next to mine there is one confirmed case of swine flu. She went home yesterday with a very high fever and was taken to the doctor and is confirmed. The school isn't allowed to actually say a confirmed case of swine flu, but the principal was notified that it is.

And time to sanitize heavily every day and lots of cleaning in my classroom.

Lisa -- hope everyone is feeling better. Your poor DD - I'm sure she'll find some time to have fun on her vacation.

SteffyLou-- keep those flu germies away!

Well, I'm off to meet DH at the middle school for a parent conference with the algebra teacher. It's a yukky night up here in Maryland.

It is actually cool here in South Florida...temp may dip into the upper 50's tonight, but all is good tomorrow w/highs back up near 80...and btw I am not rubbing it in...our temps equate to CC..

Chuck:cool1:

I have been to CC twice - and both times had HORRIBLE weather - no swimming - nothing - actually CHILLYYYYYYY
first time was April 2003 and then again in November 2006... I want a NICE WARM/HOT day on CC :)

Almost end of work day out here.

Got an email today about my son's flag football team (I'm the assistance coach). We made the BOWL GAME!!! That means we score highest in sportsmanship among all the teams. (Flags don't keep scores) The bad news is Bowl game will take place on Nov 22nd. I was expecting the notice would come last week and Bowl game be this weekend since our season ended couple weeks ago. I feel a little guilty not being there. Oh well, I just have to wish them luck.

Chun

You guys are scaring me with all your sick stories :scared1::scared1::scared1:

For those who are having symptoms, get well soon.

Those who are healthy, take care of yourself!!!

Almost want to lock up my family until the cruise.
