Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

Gosh, you go to work and find out you've packed up and moved! It is SERIOUSLY frowned upon being on the internet at my work so I never check in. I'm still too new to push any rules. Sorry I'm not helping with the 10 posts a day. But I"ll do 2 tonite.

And about the flu/germs - I TOTALLY understand. I'm paranoid myself. There was someone coughing at work and I was keeping my distance. Been popping Vitamin C's like crazy to fight off this sore throat I've been feeling coming on for the last 2 days.

And can anyone have time to help me fix the logo I was working on with dd? I had free photo shop and didn't finish it in 30 day trial period. I wanted to tilt or curve the white words to be on the oval and I also wanted to have burgundy turkey's - like the one on a platter on your dinner table -on the left side opposite the skulls. Does that make sense? But right now I'd be thrilled to just have the words on the oval and skip the turkey or put the skulls back.

Sounds like a great plan. Looking forward to you all meeting th DH David.:scared1: Do not know how you can keep up with your schedule, makes me tired just thinking about it.:lmao:

See you on Sunday.
Judi

See you on Sunday, 15 November!:goodvibes

Came home today and Andrew had already opened the 30+ pound box of shirts and had them sorted by sizes all over the dining room table. No....he's not excited at all :thumbsup2!

So, we sorted the shirts into piles....went back and checked our list again....yep, we have everyone's shirt! For those that ordered Youth XL please know that you will be receiving an Adult S -- apparently the Youth XL was out of stock so we went with the next nearest size.

Steve is at the PO getting flat rate boxes. We will ship all of them out tomorrow. I will post later if I still need an address or 2.

Karen

OH - and did I mention those are supposed to be ship steering wheels behind the turkey on my ticker? DS still thinks they look like snow flakes. I'm just going to continue to call them big ship steering wheels. It works for me.

Shirts yeah!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

And dd12 has been studying the map for delivering FE gifts. Tonight she started quizzing me on the ship's lay out. Mom - what deck is the spa on? Is is bow or stern? What deck is the movie theater on? What two restaurants are on the same deck? Is it topsiders or beach blanket on the Magic? Yep, the excitement is pretty high around here...

Lisa,'

Got your PM. Something is wrong with the PM function right now so here's what I've typed 3 times over there. I think we are fine. I'm shipping yours tomorrow (and everyone else's too...if I can get all the boxes packed and labeled tonight) so you should get yours by Tuesday. I'll verify when I drop off and if they say anything more than Tuesday I'll go to plan b!

78 shirts takes up a bunch of room. If I had thought I would have taken a photo and posted it (or asked Wendy to post for me since I never can get that to work right).

Tomorrow afternoon it's back to grants for this chickie. Gotta have them all done by Monday morning :worship:. Thank goodness Steve is the kind of hubby that wants to do all the driving on vacation -- this time I won't argue I'll just sleep and maybe read a book or two.

Night everyone...too many late nights have made this chicky crabby and considering I have ameeting with my staff tomorrow I think I had better put on the "nice" me in the morning. Maybe I'll take them all bagels....

Karen

Wow....the small priority mail flat rate boxes are REALLY small....like large paperback/small hardback small! I'll let everyone know but it looks like I've got the right shipping for AlwayslisaD; Dustermom02; Jeniamt/Miss Judit; DB4Huskers; Mickeyhugger; lynnivey and lcoasterdisfan. Everyone else, I'm sorry, but it looks like you may owe me a few dollars on shipping. I'll know for sure after I head to the PO tomorrow but I had planned on using the small boxes for up to 4 shirts and I did really well to get 2 in them!

OK...that's it for me. Night everyone!

Thanks for doing that.

You can go to the DCL website and pretend you are making a reservation for our sailing. The site will show cabin availability for each category. The last time I checked there were still cat 4s and cat 6s available. The only thing you cannot check on line is suite availability.

Lisa

Last I checked both cat4 and cat 6 has 8 rooms showing as available. I think they may have more but just show 8 at a time.

Lisa,
Maybe you should see if you can get some Tamiflu just in case. I was able to get DS the H1N1 vaccine (flumist) and the seasonal flu shot. I hope they hold.

I think you have to HAVE the flu right ? to get Tamiflu ?

I didnt get the H1N1 as I was not front line -- I am planning on calling into my friend at Employee Health and begging for a dose of the vaccine

You don't have to have the flu to get Tamiflu, just a prescription. Start searching your friends and relatives list for practicing doctors.

Note on children taking Tamiflu: The child-size tablet is only approved in Europe. There is a prediatric strength available here but only in liquid format. Once the phamarcist dispense the liquid, it has very short shelf life. So it may not be practical to get it unless specifically for the cruise.

Was going to watch the Twilight BlueRay today but son's football practice got in the way. Well there's always tomorrow.

Good morning everyone

Karen I cant thank you enough for doing this for us - it is so wonderful - you are a princess!!

Oh I am a HUGGER-- meaning I LOVEEE to give hugs -- and YES I know that is not politically correct...sooooooo if you dont WANT a hug - please let me know - after two years of talking to most of you - I feel like we are friends - so I dont want to invade personal spaces - so just holler if you dont want a POOH Size gal huggin ya!!!

I will look into finding a way to get the Tamilfu perscription. Not sure if my PCP will allow that, but maybe one of my Doc friends or Employee Health can assisst...

DD fell last night at work on a slippery floor - wrenched her neck and shoulder. She was all upset that she had to fill out an incident report. She is afraid she will get in trouble. I had to assure her that it is POLICY at our hospital to do that and she should not get in trouble unless she was doing something wrong that caused the fall. She said she was not doing anything wrong. That the floor was slippery due to being the dish room. She gave me her schedule and her boss gave her the day before we leave so that she can "rest" before vacation. HEHEH -- DD has that stressed Senior look - too many classes / work every night / 3 hours homework everynight - she is very excited about this vacation!

ok - well TGIF all -- talk to you tonite -- everyone have a great day!

Lisa:cloud9:

Pretty soon we can say we are cruising next week! :cool1:

I think we are going to book a 4 night cruise on the Dream while we are onboard. I'd love to go for one of the 5 nighters, but I'm the only person who does payroll and they all fall right around payday in summer 2011.
