Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

Sounds like a good plan! I wouldn't consider Garrett too shy but it wouldn't hurt for him to know a couple of kids before going in!! Our last trip they never wanted to go to the kid's club. Towards the end of the week, Garrett was really enjoying it and wanted to go. I definitely know he would love the Lab with the video games, dodgeball, etc.

Lynn

My older DS is 8yrs old and had fun meeting up with some of the kids prior. I think it will be great to meet up the first day so they can all get acquainted. My younger one is a bit shy and may take a bit to leave him in the kid's club.

For you magnet professionals.....since I'm going to have to print my magnets off at work on the color printer (won't be able to print on magnetic copier paper) should I laminate them first and then add the magnetic paper to the back? Do I need a laminator thingy or can I buy that myself and do at home? Sorry to sound so clueless!!

Thanks!
Lynn:flower3:

If you put them on photo paper you do not really need to laminate

I laminate them first....I can go to a school board building and do them cheap. Places like office depot will laminate. Then I just cut strips of magnet and put it on four places on the back.

Happy sign making

Hi all,

It's gorgeous here...highs are about 78+ degrees which is wonderful.

Can't wait for the cruise.

20, 18, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13...

I laminate at Kinko's...a couple bucks each including the backing, but a small cost compared to the trip so...

Lisa- Hope you are feeling better. . we'll be right down the hall on the cruise if you might need anything - like a cool, frosty beverage. . If you have a medical note can you get a lounge chair by the pool??:rotfl:

This is #2 of my 10 posts!

Thanks!! That sounds like a great idea!! :thumbsup2 :cool1: My only problem with the lounge chair idea...is right now I would need someone to actually help me sit down and get up from such a low chair!! :upsidedow

We're definitely going to have to get our boys together! My Garrett is 7 and Nicholas is 5. I'm going to try to see if they'll let us move Garrett up to the next kid's group since we were just on the Magic in June and he's been there and done that!! I hated to separate my boys but they really didn't hang out together before. So maybe if our boy's hit it off, the 2 older ones could hang and out and Nicholas and Mason could pal around. Both of my boys are huge Halo fans!

Lynn

I hope our boys can hang together too! My Nathan is 7 and I also want to move him up to the Oceaneer Lab. He's a little shy on meeting new friends so I'm hoping to hook him up with your boy.

When our Mason was 7, the youth activity counselors offered to move him to the next age group (at that time it was 8-9, now it is 8-10) because he had already experienced the 5-7 activities a few times. He actually chose to stay in the 5-7 group...he loved the activities soooo much he wanted to do them again!!! :thumbsup2 Mason is the youngest child in his class at school so his friends are all older than he is, but he still chose the 5-7 group rather than the 8-9 group.

However, now that he is 10 and most of his friends are 11, we will see if he wants to be bumped up to the Ocean Quest group (11-13) or even if he will be offered the opportunity? :confused3 Most likely he will choose to stay in the Lab age group (8-10), he loves the activities and the counselors a lot!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :)

Can anyone do a rundown on when we are meeting and what plans we have ??

I know we are all wearing our Tshirts on boarding day - but after that I am clueless

We are almost completly packed - ready to rock and roll - :) :)

Lisa

Holler if I am around I will help you INTO the lounge chair and out if needed :)

magnet question

Who posted the nice Thanksgiving graphic with the ship and the leaves??? I really liked it and was wondering if we could "borrow" it too??

11 more sleeps to go....and soooo much to do!

I picked up my first pair of prescription sunglasses today to get ready for the cruise. Just waiting for my contacts to come in so I can SEE. :3dglasses

We are almost entirely packed already except for FE gifts and our carry on. I'm just a tad bit excited you can say.

Well I have one out of school conference next week so only 9 more days to teach before we are cruising!

6007

It is a sideways room ALL the way up front. I think we are the second room from the very front.

Two new experiences for us- never been in the front and never been in a sideways room.

I'm waiting to print out the list and map until the last moment. We are going to put our gifts together onboard and just bought extras in case there were more people who join.

I can't believe how soon it is. I really have to say that time has flown by. We put away Halloween decorations and started to get out Christmas already! I would keep the Christmas tree and decorations up all year. Actually, I love the Disney village so much that does stay up all year! :thumbsup2

Well, I had a momentary :scared1: tonight! I went to tan (yep...I know silly and vain but....) and then walked to Jimmy John's to pick up sandwiches for dinner (Steve and I are both swamped at the moment) and my wallet was GONE!!!!! My first thought was oh my word...how am I going to replace my debit card, drivers license, AmEx, etc....before the CRUISE!!!!

Fortunately, I went home and found it in (of all the places) the bathroom. Nope, not sure how it got there. Except that now I know I've lost my mind!
