Hi all,
Thought I would ask my dvc family what you thought of the Turf Club. We have never eaten there before so I'm a bit hesitant.
We've decided - over the last couple of weeks - that we'll be spending Christmas week at Disney. Because I'm so late in planning there is really not much of a choice for dining - aside from parks - didn't want to try those with the crowds - so we could have either Turf Club at 6pm or Artist Point at 9 - too late for the kids. What do you all think? I don't read anything about special meals for Christmas so I'm assuming it's the regular menu.
TIA!

From my (admittedly limited) experience at the Turf Club, it would be OK. I found it alright, but nothing special.

I would consider the parks too, if you can get in anywhere. Epcot might be OK, as it is very large, so the crowds don't seem as bad until you are trying to leave after Illuminations! Animal Kingdom (being the least "Christmas-y" of the parks) might not be bad either, but has limited options (although Yak and Yeti is fantastic, IMHO).

We've been to Turf Club 3 or 4 times in the last year & half and have had great meals and service every time :thumbsup2

Do a search on Turf Club. You will find plent of reviews (mostly positive). Personally, its one of my family's favorite. Truly the best kept secret.

My in-laws ate at Turf Club one night and had nothing but great things to say about it. They were the last ones in the restaurant (around 8:30pm) yet they said the service and food was wonderful, no complaints whatsoever!

We love Turf Club and have never been disappointed. We'll be having Thanksgiving dinner there. I was looking forward to choosing off the regular menu but just found out they will be serving "traditional Thanksgiving dinner" with a limited a la carte menu. I'm not a big fan of turkey so hopefully they'll still have other things I like.

I'd like to echo the positive comments about Turf Club. The food is excellent, it's a quiet, comfortable atmosphere, and the service we have had has been fabulous. It's a must do on our family list!

Christmas dinner at the Turf Club Grill? I'd be one happy camper! Even if it wasn't Christmas themed food, I'd still be loving my ol' favorite, the Apple Cinnamon BBQ Ribs, with their outstanding mashed potatoes!!

Thanks for all your positive responses! We're really looking forward to this now. Christmas dinner at our Home away from Home...

Please let us all know how Thanksgiving dinner turns out. I'd love to hear about their menu!

We ate at the Turf club during our Oct 08 trip and it was one of the family favorites. My group gives it a big thumbs up :thumbsup2 .

BTW I have Christmas dinner reservations at the Turf club. Did them months ago. Hope to see you there. :yay:

We stayed at SSR this past summer -- joined DVC while on our trip and added onto our vacation by staying at SSR. Had a few meals left on our DDP and decided last minute to try the Turf Club -- we thought it was fabulous. I would highly recommend it.

We actually were hesitant to try Turf Club, not because we heard it was bad, we just figured why eat where you stay when there is so much out there at the parks and DtD to try. One of the Disney podcasts I listen to had a review of Turf Club and absolutely raved about it. And they continue to rave about it. So I tried it solo on a trade show business trip, and was very pleasantly surprised. Took my wife just a couple weeks ago, and she was amazed as well (it helped that we had tried Sci Fi Dine for the first time the night before, which was awful and overpriced). They have a very interesting Ceasar salad (actually grill the lettuce), I had the steak sandwich and onion rings- very delicious. After eating there my wife commented that we really had missed something by passing it over on previous trips. It will now become a regular tradition to eat there.

We love the Turf Club!! We have eaten there five times, twice in one trip!!

The kids loved the horse race the Cast members had them enter too. They brought out little wooden horses, much like at whispering canyon, and they also had little prizes for the kids too. It is very quiet as well and the steak and their special potatoes are wonderful!!:cool1:
