We booked our Tulum Ruins excursion in advance and were planning on taking our 2 yr old along. But, after reading other posts on this board about the Tulum excursion it sounds like it may be too exhausting for a toddler. For those who have been to Tulum, do you think it's a mistake to take a 2 year old? Is it possible to bring a stroller along?

I appreciate any advice you can give.

We went on a Tulum excursion with another cruise line, back in 1993. Even though it was early March, it was very hot and humid. There was a long bus ride each way. There were no "stroller friendly" paths among the ruins -- the paths were unpaved, uneven, and rocky. Yes, it was an amazing, memorable excursion, and we had an excellent guide.

I would recommend saving Tulum for a future cruise when the child is older. If you go now, you could have a hot, tired, unhappy toddler.

I agree totally with Horace Horsecollar. The pathways are not stroller friendly, its hot and humid and it would bore a 2 year old.
I love tulum and have been several times. The first trip I took my boyswas at 7 and 9....perfect.. they have been back and love it, but 2? I would book Xcaret instead for your 2 year old.

it was hard for our son, who i think was seven or eight because it was just too darn hot. Made me wish we hadn't gone at all...

We were in Cozumel back in March of 2000, our daughter was 7 and she did not go to Tulum with her Dad and brothers. We did the Atlantis sub. It would of been too hot and humid. We went with no kids January 2001 and it was hot then too so I would tell you this excursion is not for a young person but it is up to you. (The ruins are not stroller friendly.) Enjoy your cruise, Kathy

We opted for the San Gervasio ruins instead of the Tulum ruins for us. After looking at the total Commute time and the time we spent at the actual ruins in Tulum, I knew that it would be too much for my active 7 year old.
