Hello! We just relocated so we'll be flying to WDW from Tulsa. I know our trip isn't until March, so there's no sense in buying tix this far out, but I'm just wondering if anyone out there has flown this route and knows what flights normally cost? It will give my some sort of idea of which prices to jump on. Thanks in advance!!

$200 per person is a GREAT fare anymore. The cheapest I've gotten it in the past 6 years is $171 (and that was in 2000). Usually Southwest is the best and in the past you could get it for $79 each way fairly easily (which came out to be approx. $202 round trip) If not $99 each way comes out to about $233 round trip. However for our upcoming trip in September the cheapest I've seen it through Southwest was $104 one way and $134 the other - the super low internet rates sold out FAST this past time. Delta does have a direct flight from TUL to MCO and the last time I checked it was sitting at $225.60 pp. I had watched it from $276.60 to $286.60 to $296.60 and back down and finally bit the bullet and booked it at $276.60 because I had a credit that would cover one ticket. Of course a week later it dropped to $225.60. I have seen that particular flight as low as $215.60 but never for the dates I needed :) Depending on if the trend continues of airfare going up I would say anywhere from $200 - $250 is a good fare from Tulsa.

I live in Tulsa . . . am obsessed with Disney :goodvibes and could go every year. I didn't respond because WDWorBust couldn't have said it any better. She's absolutely right. Used to be $200., or less, was exciting and I would jump on it. Now, we will be lucky to pay under $250. a person. May not be able to convince my DH it's such a cheap trip anymore.

Thank you! This will be our first trip to Disney, so we're all excited! The last trip DH and I went on was a cruise out of Miami. We flew from Omaha, NE for around 225 a ticket, so I guess $250 to get to Orlando isn't so horrible. (Wish we had somewhere flying for those awesome $17 rates! lol) It's just slightly painful to have to budget $1000-1200 just to get there. Of course, it's better than 2 days there and back in the car with 2 little ones! :teeth:

We moved to Tulsa recently (from Kansas City but before KC we lived in Omaha!). I went to WDW in April and paid $226 on Southwest but I really watched their website closely for several months. I miss the non-stop SW flights from Kansas City as well as the lower fares. When we lived in KC I always figured anything around $200 or lower was pretty good. Now with our new location and the fuel prices I think I'll have to be happy with anything around $250. :)

Just FYI- the drive from Tulsa isn't unbearable. We've made it twice now and although I wouldn't classify it as fun it's doable. I just hate having to take 4 days out of a vacation to travel - but I know when/if we have a 2nd child and are having to buy airfare for 4 we may be driving more often. Anyway - I'll take flying anyday over driving - but the drive really isn't as bad as it could be.
