Tuesday will be Swedish Meatball day!

Hi

Love this thread! My dh's family comes from a long line of Swedes.

I love those meatballs! Yes, and baking them is SO much easier than standing over the flying pan, LOL

Then just warm in crockpot a couple hours before serving, YUm.

Herc.

Crockpot!!! Another great idea! Thanks:D

Krisu - you are making me homesick for my Grandma's Swedish meatballs. We also had potato sausage and herring. We always opened presents on Christmas Eve when we were with my grandparents.

Another Norwegian here too!!! In fact I just ate a Lohengrin for dessert! (Let's see how many people here know what that is:p )

I bought a meatball maker at a Norwegian speciality store. It looks like 2 melonballers together, sort of like a salad spoon and fork. You just dip it in cold water and it makes perfect meatballs in no time, nice and small too!!!:D

Besides the meatballs we will be having:
korv (sausage)
sill (herring)
ham
pickled beets (inglagda rodbetor)
picled cukes (inlagd gurka)
limpa bread
lingonberry sauce
and of course Glogg!!!:D
Christmas Eve is THE big night, and we still dance around the tree!!

Dancing around the tree!!:p :p :p
I remember bringing a boyfriend on Christmas Eve to my uncle's and seeing the look on his face as we all joined hands around the tree. :p

Thanks Krisu, you've just brought back a flood of wonderful Christmas memories for me.:D :D
