Can somebody explain this place to me? What buses can I catch from here? Do any go to the resorts? Thanks!

The TTC is the central hub, where the buses do run to all the parks, the resorts, and the DTD area and resorts as well. It is also a hub for the monorails and I think there is also a ramp for the ferry boat as well. I cannot remember exactly where it is.

It is great too, because there are plenty of restrooms, vending machines, etc as well while you wait.

The first time I was down there, it was very confusing to me, because I was trying to get on as much of the transportation as possible on my first trip. I have learned better now, as I go down each year, I try something new. It has made it not so overwhelming!

The TTC does not have WDW resort busses or DTD, only offsite resort busses. I think there are park busses.

If you drive to Magic Kingdom and park, you don't walk into Magic Kingdom. You are really parking at TTC, where you will access the monorail or ferry to get to Magic Kingdom. It is the central monorail hub, so you can also catch a monorail to EPCOT or one of the monorail resorts. Plus, busses run from there to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney. There is a gift shop, vending machines, restrooms, and a customer service/ticket counter. It's also a very easy walk to the Polynesian.

!

The TTC is the transportation hub for the Magic Kingdom. There are no disney resort buses at the TTC though. The disney resort buses are right outside the MK. There are buses to AK and to DHS, I'm pretty sure there are no buses to Epcot, but you can hop on the Monorail. From the TTC you can take a monorail over to the MK or you can take a boat.

The above in red is totally incorrect..

1. There are no WDW buses to any of the WDW resorts - except Shades of Green - from the TTC.

2. There are no WDW buses to DTD or EPCOT from the TTC. All WDW buses to DTD are from WDW resort hotels. The monorail to/from EPCOT is also at the TTC. The other WDW resort buses are at the MK.

3. There are WDW buses to/from the AK and DHS at the TTC.

4. The ferry boats to/from the TTC and the MK are located there.

5. Resort and express monorails to/from the MK are at the TTC.

6. Off-property hotel shuttle buses and LYNX buses are at the TTC.

7. Taxis are available at the temp drop-off/pickup parking lot at the TTC.

We've been to the MK many times, but have always used resort busses. This time my folks will be with us, and I'm sure they will prefer to drive. How much time does it take to park, get a tram to the TTC, switch to a ferry (or monorail), and get to the MK?

I also wonder which will require more walking: driving/parking/ferrying or just taking the resort bus. Mom is breaking in a new pair of knees, I don't want to wear her out before we're even through the gates!

Thanks!

I don't think there would be a big time difference in taking the busses direct to MK vs. driving to the TTC. I indicate this while also factoring in any possible wait times at the resort for the bus.

The big advantage to taking the resort busses is the hassle factor. Not transferring from a car to the tram, then walking and then transferring to the monorail or ferry.
