TTC thread take 2

I really needed that laugh. Thanks girls.

2 funerals this week. One this afternoon for Hubby's uncle, and one Friday for his Grandpa. :sad2:

That's tough! Especially right before the holidays.

Well ladies, its only a little over a week til my b-day and I said if things didn't happen by this birthday, they were never going to happen. :guilty: So I think I am officially throwing in the towel. :guilty:

So shocker of all shockers AF arrived on Saturday, or at least she is attempting to rear herself;)! I started BCP's on Saturday as well. I'm hoping that's what I was supposed to do,:crazy2: start them on the first day of my new cycle. I have a call into my RN to double check. I guess we're off and running. Nervous and hopful. . .

So sorry Deb - the letting go is so hard.

:thumbsup2

Hey, you guys want to help me plan our fall trip next year? Ken's given me free reign and I need input! I'm going to cover the Food & Wine Festival and also the MNSSHP.

I would love to find a resort close to EPCOT again. We loved CBR and may go back. Thing is.....I fell in love with BWI. :lovestruc But with ttc, not sure if we could do it. Kenny doesn't have a preference on a hotel. We'll be going Oct. 25-Nov. 1. We are going to do the DXDP plan this time since we didn't this last time and ran out of credits. :scared1:

Help!

Gabbie

Gabbie - we like staying at the BWV. But, we did a ton of "Resort" stuff and not as much parks on that trip. I always say that the only way I stay DLX is if we spend time at the resort - otherwise we stay value or mod. Just my opinion.

Update!

RN called this am and told me that our donor passed all her tests!:thumbsup2 She then listed off a bunch of dates and what i'm supposed to do. The fact that I started my cycle early, I gotta tell you she's barely here and I'm thinking it's cause I started the BCPs the same day, is helping us to do this a little faster then I expected. So I am on BCP's until 12/25 with NO SUGAR pill break. Then on 12/9 I start Lupron, 10 units a day; on 12/29 I have an U/S at 7 AM; 12/30 I start Estres; between 1/8 - 1/13 will be the egg retreival; between 1/11 - 1/18 will be the transfer.

Goodness! Well, we're not out of the woods yet. Nothing is done or over until after January so we are still on the roller coaster, HOWEVER, I am so excited that we are moving. I was getting nervous because things with the donor were, to me, going slow. ;)

OK so I may go puke a little bit now! :upsidedow :crazy2: A little overwhelmed but happy but overwhelmed. . . ;)

Oooh Ellis, it's happy dance time!!!!! Fingers, toes, and everything crossed!!!!!

Hey Girls

I haven't posted in awhile but had some questions. My Dr put me on clomid a few months ago. I took 50mg the 1st 2 cycles and 100 the 3rd cycle. It did regulate my cycles to exactly 35 days when they had been around 60 days. However I never did get a + OPK even though I did see a predictable temp rise all 3 cycles, however my Dr doesn't think I ovulated. My DH also had his swimmers tested and everything was fine there. Anyway now my Dr has referred me to an RE at a fertility clinic and my appt is next week.

I am curious what to expect them to say the next steps will be? My progesterone levels were also low. I have heard of people having to give themselves shots does that make you ovulate and/or progesterone levels increase? I just want to prepared and research before I my appt as to what options they might suggest? My insurance will pay for 2 IVF cycles so I am curious if they will jump to doing that or if there are other things we should try first. Also how many months is normal for taking clomid before you have to take a break and how long of a break do you have to take from it?

This is all new to me so any of you that have been through these steps and can give me some advise would be much appreciated!!!!

Did you ever have follicle scans (ultrasounds) to monitor the growth of your follicles? If not, an RE may want to do that to see how your follicles grow. My Dr always required 20mm to do an IUI and I didn't get there without Clomid. The last two IUIs I also did progesterone.

I did 3 rounds of Clomid IUI with my OB/GYN (all failed) before being referred to the RE. The RE wanted to do injectibles with IUI as our "next step." I was ovulating, though, so I"m not sure if that makes a difference. I would think your RE would want to see if you are actually ovulating before jumping to IVF.

Thinking of all you ladies! Sounds like a lot of you will be busy!! I hope to read good news soon. :goodvibes

Hi there!

First off, good for you on checking on your insurance first! Insurance can be very surprising sometimes. That is great that your Dr. did a clomid trial with you already as well. You may even have another one dependent on the results of your tests. I am assuming that your dr is sending your file to your RE which is very important. You may want to put a call into your dr as well and ask her/him if there is anything you should bring to the RE's attention. You will more than likely have a battery of blood tests, ultra sounds and a Hysterosalpingography (ps by the way i had to look it up to get the correct spelling;)) The bloodtests will tell about any abnormalities. I looked back at your previous post and you said you had PCOS.:headache: They may come up with a plan for treating that in a different way as well. The Hyster will be able to tell whether you have a blockage in your tubes. There is a fairly new blood test, and I don't know your age, but if you are older you may want to request that they do it. It is an AMH test and it looks at your Ovarian Reserve. From experience, I wish they had done this earlier rather than later.

I wish you the best during your consult with your dr. It can be overwhelming but remember if you have any questions a good RE will give you his/her number or the clinic number to clear up anything. Also you can always share here and cause that's what we're here for! We learn from eachother's experiences:goodvibes.

Take care and check back in soon!
