Welcome EllNat11
hope your stay is short *fingers crossed*

I'm Kathleen we have been "trying" to get pg for 17 yrs this Dec. We did several IUI's then gave up and started foster care instead. We have adopted 4 special needs kids, have one pending adoption (long story) and we got a newborn in July who is like the missing puzzle piece to our family. We hope he gets to stay forever :lovestruc He got us to our goal of 50 kids so that was exciting.
We don't try anymore but still always have that little bit of hope each month :rolleyes1

OK ladies... I'm hoping someone can give me some insight into this. We are in the midst of our first Clomid cycle. I went in Wednesday (CD12) and my largest follicle was 13mm. Went back today (CD14), largest was 15mm. I have to go back in tomorrow for another ultrasound. I'm starting to get worried... should I be? I know that they need to get to ~20mm to O, but does it matter how long it takes you to get there? Is there a cutoff point to where the follicles aren't going to fully mature for this cycle? ANY insight you have would be appreciated as I'm starting to get nervous! :scared1:

okay I hope I am not too late answering for ya. What dose are you on? (I'm guessing 50 mg at this point) My dr always wanted the follies to be at least 14 mm. Did your doctor specifically say at least 20 mm?

A few things:
  • Most doctors say it doesn't matter how long it takes to get to Ovulation, as long as your hormones look normal throughout
  • If you are triggering, your follicle can still grow a couple mm by the time you ovulate
  • If you ARE doing the trigger, you have an even better chance for anything above 14 mm or so, to release. :)

Try not to worry too much -- I know, easier said than done!!

So it looks like you were going in for another u/s yesterday anyway...I hope that one showed some growth!

Icky day here.

Cramps like a you know what. I got a call from the RE saying that it would be covered....up till the diagnosis of infertility if there is one. Then, we're on our own. :headache:

And now, the laptop I wanted is gone!!!!!:mad:

I wanna go back to bed. I just feel like laying down and crying myself to sleep sometimes.

Gabbie

I went back today and my biggest follicle had matured to 20mm (Saturday it was 16mm so it really blossomed over the weekend!) I was just concerned that it had taken a little longer to grow and worried that it might mess up the cycle somehow. Glad that everything is ok. I had my Hcg trigger today and start Prometrium on Wednesday.

I was happy today that my follie had matured and that I was getting my trigger shot today. And of course, what happens? My office mate tells me she's preggo! :headache: I share my office with 2 other women- and now BOTH of them are pregnant. I was expecting it because I've had a feeling for about a week she was pregnant. I actually had a dream last night where I told her "I know that you're pregnant!" So weird! :upsidedow
I think I have about every emotion going thru me right now. Excited/scared/nervous about my cycle and jealous/happy/angry/excited for her preg.
It will happen when it's meant to happen..... I'm just gonna keep repeating that to myself until I believe it! :confused3

Morning! Congrats on the good follicle Joanne- I really hope this works for you!! And welcome to the newbies on this thread.

We have been super busy with our new dog, but I am loving every minute of it! The family that brought her to us from the rescue organization was on their way back from a trip to Disneyland, and she was found as a stray down near Disneyland- haha- it was meant to be!

I have to read back and catch up, but I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying the beginning of the Christmas season (or Hannukah...or whatever you celebrate!). Wishing us all the best of luck in our last chance to get pregnant in 2010 :wizard:

I'm SOOO ready for another trip. It's been over a year now, I can't believe it!! After going 3 years in a row in September, having not been this past September (and not even all year) feels weird. It makes me miss it so bad...but maybe things will turn out perfect with this next IVF and maybe we can afford a little babymoon next year!! I wouldn't be able to ride the thrill rides but it would be worth it.

So how do you feel after the surgery?

I haven't had the surgery yet I was doing one of those "I did this and I'm going to D-World things." Lol.

I may not need surgery after all. They did an u/s today which showed the fibroids (I have two, thought I had one) are near my tubes. They are outside of my uterus and may just go away on their own. I am also going to be tested for hormonal issues. (Testosterone and such.)

ah I was seriously wondering there because I thought I had missed something! LOL

hope they go away on their own. Then you can still have your celebration Disney trip

what's going on with you chickadee?

Not much. Just a game of hurry up and wait. We did find out that since my insurance year runs out at the end of January, when I though it was the end of March, that of course means we will have to pay again for some things. I gave the RN coordinator the go ahead to order what ever meds we will bot need in January though so that at least the bulk of that will be taken care of before January. That kinda hurts the pocket book and there go our savings for our WDW trip in March.:upsidedow Even with insurance this whole process is is VERY expensive. I'm supposed to start BCPs on this cycle to regulate and then we both go onto Lupron at some point. That was a great conversation too: Me: I thought that because of my age I needed to go on another drug and not Lupron? RN: Your old, what we are using the Lupron for won't effect you. Me: Hmm thanks for clearing that up for me.:upsidedow Really now. . .

So I'm ok, just worried bout money and whether or not this is going to ever work. March is quickly approaching and so is the big 4-0.

Sorry i'm having a pity party today:guilty::rolleyes:

The good news is that my house is decorated and we are ready for Christmas! I'm looking foward to spending a little time this weekend doing some more stuff. Also, I'm kinda crampy which means AF is on the way which means i can start the BCPs which will help this process along a bit timing wise.

Take care my ladies!

umm wow that nurse has some nerve!!

my house is not decorated yet. WTG on doing yours. Last year we didn't decorate until less than 2 weeks before Christmas. I was too depressed and didn't want to even put up the tree, but my DH insisted that it would make him WAY too depressed to NOT have the tree up.

Esbrick - that is so exciting!

I don't have my house decorated yet either. I'm really not into either.

AF came this week. I really don't know what we are going to do going forward. DH has mentioned IVF, but I don't really know if I can handle the heart break if it doesn't work. I am looking forward to a month without any ultrasounds or injections.

I'm sorry, maybe just take a month off from the meds and see how you feel. IVF is definitely a big deal and I'm glad to see that your DH is open to it. Many times the men are timid about it. (even though its not THEM that is going through it!)
