TTC thread take 2

wow, Tinytreasures, what a testimony! You've done a wonderful thing for so many children. I almost cried when you said they didn't need to do the hysterectomy too!! That's wonderful and I pray you a beautiful future, but I see that your present is filled with joy as well.

I just felt the need to say...I TRIED to knit once. That is, someone tried to teach me. I just couldn't hold those darn needles right and I gave up. Then again I was only a teenager. BUT I can't see myself even trying again because there's so many other things I'd rather learn right now.

I am nearly finished a cross-stitching project that I have been working on for a couple YEARS now (it's rather large, but still shouldn't have taken quite so long...but I would pick it up and put it down every now and then)

After that's done, I need to learn how to use my sewing machine. :rotfl:

A sweater- wow! I hope to learn sweaters and more complex patterns eventually. Right now I just make simple baby beanies and scarves (no scarves for babies though, haha). I really want to learn to crochet and everyone keeps telling me it's even easier than knitting. I bought a crochet book a while back, but so far I haven't gotten very good at that!

thanks everyone for the welcomes
I don't really belong here but knew you guys would "get" it.

I love to knit
I taught myself by watching knitting help dot com

Tinytreasures,

Beautiful story, thanks for sharing. It made me warm and fuzzy :)

Back to lurking and hoping for BFPs!

:wizard:OMG! I can't believe I am posting here but I am joining your group!

So background for those of you who don't know me... DH and I are highschool sweeties and DD was a surprise when we were very young (she is now 11) we have both worked hard in our lives and I am preparing to finish my masters in May 2011.

We just took ur first ever trip alone together this past week to celebrate our 5th anniversary (in Disney of course, no feeling bad for DD she has been many times!!!) and we had a blast the whole trip was great. We are finally DVC members as well :cool1::cool1:

One night we were lying together in bed soaking it all up and I talked about if we really thought we were done having kids, I mean DD is grown and into her own things now and we bascially could be free but we are just crazy about eachother and we know that another baby would only add to our perfect family (not to mention my mom would be thrilled beyond belief as I am an only) and DH romantically looked into my eyes and said he would love to have another baby with me :lovestruc.

We started actively talking about it and have decided that I will stop the pill this fall and we will start actively trying next spring right before or right after I graduate.

I am nervous but also ironically super excited and DD would be thrilled to have a little sibling after all this time! I am basically just coming here for support and advice as I have literally been on the pill since she was born 11 years ago! I was such a scared naive kid back then that I really had no clue what I was doing and I just sort of learned everything as I went through it with help of course! So... advice is welcome! :wizard:

Goobergal,

My daughters are 12, 3.5 years, and 3.5 months. Two marriages. I am 43 years old.
Trust me you do not want to be 43 and pregnant....new VH1 show...LOL

The ages do not matter. The 12 y/o and the 3 y/o are the best of frenamies. They scrap but my 12 y/o dotes on her sister.

My husband's sister is 10 years younger than him and they are the best of friends. His brother is 13 years younger. My MIL lost a few babies before having SIL.

Good luck to you and don't worry about the ages of the kids.

D&DDisney,

Oh I know what you are saying :) I wish it for you so much. I was talking about all the scary stuff that goes along with "advanced maternal age". ugh

Did any of you see that Today Show segment yesterday about the women in India going to the IVF clinic in their 60's and 70's? (I think it was India, could have been somewhere else I can't remember).

They were talking about the want to be a parent vs. the want of physically having a child. It made me sad that the doctors would agree to do that, I am sure they just want the money. They were showing some new moms and pregnant women in their 70's and most of the babies did not look healthy. Sad.

Sorry, it was slightly off topic, but interesting. I also watched a whole marathon of 16 and Pregnant last week. It was hard to sit through the commercials that MTV plays, but it was an interesting show!

Oh and WELCOME Goobergal! Yeah, don't worry about the age difference I know plenty of families with big age gaps and they all turned out fine :)- Best of luck when you start trying!

I did see that show and I really felt for those women. I know they are much older than normal, but the desire to have a baby never goes away. And then I thought of men who become fathers in their 70s (Tony Randall) and I thought that was such a crummy double standard!!!! Why do women have to lose their fertility so early and why is it okay for girls in their teens to become moms???? The doc on the show said it was part of "God's plan" but does God realize that 10-13yr old girls are NOWHERE near ready to be moms??? Then, when women are financially and mentally ready, they lose their fertility. Makes me sooooo MAD!

Thanks soo much! Yea... I can attest that DH is closest to his 8 year old brother then his other three siblings. My MIL had a surprise when she remarried and our DD was already two! It turned out to be the best thing ever, as DD as always had a brother in her "uncle" :rotfl2:

I am actually really excited, DD was up late last night watching gilmore girls in her room and chatting with a girlfriend on the phone (tweens) and DH and I were lying together discussing things on the couch, we were both saying how exciting it will be, DD was the best blessing we ever could have asked for but we were very young and very scared. We are soo much more aware now. I can't even believe we are planning to have another baby after all this time. If it weren't for the clinical I have to teach as a requirement for my masters (nursing education) we would be trying sooner! But this is something I really want for my career as well so I know it's best to wait...however we are thinking of trying a little sooner maybe early winter 2011 ;)

Thanks, Yea I think so DD is low maintence and super helpful although secretly knowing that she is DH's lil princess: I am hoping for a lil mommas boy :rotfl2: But happy and healthy is enough for me

I too watched 16 and pregnant, but I have to tell you I was very embarassed to be a teen mom after watching that show.... It took me a long time to feel proud of the person I had grown into but those girls made me realize why I was as judgemental as I was before I was in that boat!

Huh....my ma called me goober when I was a kid. (My anmes Gabbie)

Scary situation this weekend: I started bleeding this weekend without warning. I thought at first it was implantation bleeding, but it was heavier than that should be and it made me veeeerryyy tired. My AF isn't due for a few weeks yet. (It was my own fault. I forgot to take my pill for a few days and I think it brought on bleeding. That's why they tell you not to quit taking it abruptly) It's stopped now and I feel better, but I was scared for a bit! :scared1:

I'm going to make an appointment to see the dx and see what's going on.

One thing: I'm not cramping now when I have AF. I do have hot flashes like the dickens and mood swings, but I feel better now. I am thinking of getting another ultrasound to see if my fibroids have changed.

Gabbie

Oh, by the way, I have red hair now.

I just wanted to pop in and say Happy 4th of July to everyone! I hope you are all able to enjoy a fun 3 day weekend. We have had a wonderful time and we already did the fireworks thing last night, so now we can relax.

So far so good with round 2 of the clomid too. Hopefully it works this time :yay:

welcome to you, Goobergal!!! Sounds like you have a great plan, indeed. Since you have been on the pill for so long, had you thought about stopping a few months before you are ready, and using another form of protection until you're ready to TTC?

I know it's not the same for everyone, but I was on the pill for 7 years and I had cycles that were 2 months long when I stopped. I am not sure when my cycles would have finally shortened on their own because I ended up getting meds. Hopefully you won't have this issue, but just a heads up :thumbsup2

Gabbie I've been thinking about going red too!

Let's see a pic! :goodvibes

And so sorry about the bleeding episode. Sounds like you may need an alarm for your meds hehe
