I'm a little confused about TTC.

When does it open in the morning?

If I park there early in the AM can I walk to the Contemporary? How far is it and are there signs?

If I can't walk to Contemporary, is there an early morning monorail? I gather I would need to take the 'resort monorail'. How long does it take?

How far is it away from MK? Can you walk or do you have to take a shuttle?

Thanks

No, you can't walk to the Contemporary from the TTC. If the monorail isn't open, you can take the ferry to MK and then walk to the Contemporary from there. It takes about 5-10 minutes. There's no "resort monorail" from the TTC. Only to MK and to Epcot. I'm gathering that you're not staying on property. Are you trying to get to the Contemporary early in the morning because of an ADR?

TTC is across the LAKE from MK.
TTC is open very early in the morning.
You take MK Express monorail or Ferryboat to get to MK from TTC.
Contemporary is nearly as far as MK away.
TTC is very near Poly.
It is open very early in the AM, but you can drive directly to the Contemopary 24 hours a day (if that's where you're going.)
Contemporary is the "last stop" (full loop) on the Resort monorail from TTC and can take up to 20 minutes to get there, depending on the time of day.
The resort monorial starts running very early in the AM.
But again, if you need to get to Compemporary and you're driving, drive directly there.
Now, if you are taking a Disney BUS from a RESORT, you don't get out at TTC (busses don't stop there). You are taken directly to MK (which IS within walking distance of the Conpemporary.)
The only busses that come and go to TTC for MK are the ones from DAK and MGM (and few others like "Shades of Green" Resort.)

That's INCORRECT.

The resort monorails that run to Poly, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary (the Resort monorails stop at MK, as well) run from TTC.

And the monorails are running long before and long after the Ferryboats.

Just wanted to add....TTC opens about 1hr or so before park opening.

Also you can consider walking to the Magic Kingdom at busy times. The monorail can get quite full, and makes stops at the TTC, Polynesian and Grand Floridian before reaching the Magic Kingdom.

We are having breakast at Chef Mickeys and then on to MK. I have heard I could possibly get towed if I valet parked and went to MK after eating, so I am trying to figure out the best parking senario.

If you VALET park, its not a problem going to MK for the day (you're paying to park with Valet). Same goes for Valet Parking at Yacht & Beach Club, and going to Epcot and/or Studios.
Its the folks trying to "skip out" on paying to park at a resort, then going to a theme-park that can get into trouble.

BUT, if you don't want to valet at Contemporary...

TTC/Monorail will be open before Chef Mickey's is operating (its a very popular breakfast).

Just park in the MK lot (TTC) and ride the resort monorail to the Contemporary.
That early, the trip should take 15 minutes or less.

I have no problems paying to valet. I had just heard I could still get towed if I stayed past that 3 hour limit. I'm thinking valet is the way to go. Everyone from the forums who has done it seems to never have had problems and we are just going for a few hours.

And to be totally honest I can never get my kids on a monorail or boat as they don't want to take the time. So I was also figuring this is a great way to get my monorail ride in. Gosh.....we have to ride the monorail or take a boat from the Contemporary to MK. I won't tell them it would be quicker to walk.

Yes, if you want to RIDE from Contemporary to MK,
the Resort Monorail is the only "one-mode" transport from Contemporary.

The boat trip from the Contemporary dock requires riding one boat to Wilderness lodge or Ft. Wilderness, then disembarking and getting on another boat to the MK from there.

The Ferryboats only run between TTC and MK.

So, you could take the Resort Monorail from Contemporary to TTC (very short, next-stop hop) then leave the monorail and walk to Ferryboat dock and take boat to MK.

Another route is to stay on the Resort Monorail to the next stop past TTC, which is the Polynesian Resort. Walk down to the Poly's boat dock and take a "Jungle Criuse" style boat directly to MK from there.

All of these modes are free to anyone to use.
If its VERY EARLY in the morning, not ALL of these modes will be operating, but if its near MK opening, they will all be running.

We take as many modes of transport as Disney offers over the course of a trip (including the nice slow boat trip from Port Orleans Resort to/from Downtown Disney).
And no, we don't stay at Port Orleans, we just like the boat ride.

The Resort monorail starts at 7AM. If MK is not having morning EMH, the reosrt monorail will be the only transportation operating that early.

If your ADR is before 7:15, park at the CR.

Yesterday when I used the valet at the Polynesian to go in for breakfast, the attendant automatically put down that it was an all day pass. At that time I wasn't sure what we were doing after breakfast, and we wound up not going into MK as the entrance area looked way to crowded for me! I wasn't paying for it either as I have the DDE card which offers complimentary valet. With an AP I don't pay for parking at the TTC either, so it's not a matter of me trying to "skip" out on the parking fee.
