TTA vs. People Mover

The People Mover is my favorite ride at WDW. I actually think it's better than the DL version, although I loved that one too and rode it many, many, many times in the 90s.

It will be refurbished for my trip next month also. I wonder what they will be doing to it other than maybe some track maintenance. It's a great way to relax ones feet and have some great nostalgia along with a great aerial view of so many great rides.

I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun. It won't be the same, but on the plus side it should be a smoother ride than the one at DL. Heck, since the one at DL is long gone, I'm just grateful there is still a people mover at WDW. (Now if only we could get them to bring back the skyway! Or, I'd settle for having access to a time travel machine. I'd go back and try out the flying saucers, which my wife rode but which were gone by the time I first went to DL.) Anyway. :) Thanks again for easing my worry about my favorite ride.

We always rode the People Mover at DL and the only difference that I notice, and miss, when riding TTA is the Tron segment.

For a flying saucer effect, the next time you are at DL, ride Luigi's Tires in Carsland... the same premise as the Flying Saucers!:)

Everyone in the family loves it (kids are 9 and 7). We ride it multiple times each trip, basically every trip we make into Tomorrowland. It's a great way to rest tired feet and we've been known to stay on it for two trips if we're especially tired.

It is especially beautiful at night.

I think in October when we were there, we rode it five, maybe six times.

We love Carousel of Progress as well. Both are proof that attractions don't have to be 'thrill' rides in order to be enjoyed.

I could not agree with you more. It harkens back to the day when I went as a little kid some 35 years ago. Nostalgia is a great thing and hence my bringing this thread back to life after being dormant for far too long.

I only with that Mr. Toads Wild Ride could return to Florida.

Does anyone know why DL got rid of the People Mover when WDW still has theirs? The track is still there and so many people loved it - I wonder why they didn't just bring it back after Rocket Rods failed??
