Woo hoo! Just booked our tickets for the concert to be held in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium at the end of the month. :Pinkbounc

I know the object of the exercise is to raise money for the Relief Fund, but I'm also really excited to get the chance to see the concert in the flesh - being only 30-40 miles away from us makes it much more do-able than anything in the London area. Only slight drawback was the ticket limit of 4 as we wanted 7, so had to make two bookings and have ended up with two sets of seats at opposite sides of the stadium (although DDs and their mate will probably be highly delighted ;) ).

The line-up so far includes Eric Clapton, Jools Holland, Aled Jones, Lemar, Katherine Jenkins and Feeder, with more acts to be signed up in the next couple of weeks.

I'm looking forward to a good day out in aid of a worthwhile cause :) Any other DISers going to this?

What a good idea, and for the best cause too. Have a brilliant time - the line up sounds great!

Hi Guys
The concert will be held on January 22nd, tickets went on sale today at £30
£22.50 and £15.00.

I can see the stadium from my front door, so it will only be a 5 minute walk there and back for me.

....... excellent - hope it raises LOTS and LOTS of money for the disaster fund... and that you have a great time too :) !

Even happier today since they've announced the addition of Badly Drawn Boy and Manic Street Preachers to the line-up, with still more bands to be added :teeth:

Off to Cardiff later this morning (and getting the thermal undies out in preparation LOL ;) ) :cheer2:

It's going to be a long afternoon / evening and we keep hearing announcements about taking warm clothing, etc. because the stadium is unheated (although they will close the retractable roof), but I'm really looking forward to it! :Pinkbounc

If any of you are watching the television coverage, look out for the oldie wrapped up in ski gear with a flask of soup :teeth: Should I wear my lime green bum bag, do you think?

:rockband:

For any of you that have sky, S4C digitol is showing the whole concert live this afternoon and evening, just watched Keane and they were supberb, did have tickets to go but passed them to my daughter and friends, thought I would stay in and watch it in the warm. The commentry on S4C is all in welsh but should'nt make much difference.

Sue

Kaylee- me neither, and I'm welsh :D lol, press 888 for the english translation.

Thanks SUe :)

I think I spotted Hilary in her ski mask LOL!! She will be on Crime Watch next ;)

LOL Kaylee! There was a LOT of ski gear in evidence, but it wasn't me in a ski mask! ;)

Sue, I think your idea of watching it at home in the WARM was inspirational! It was snowing when we came out last night, but I've thawed out now :)

All the acts were soooooo good (although I missed seeing Lemar and Craig David because it took me that long in the coffee queue  ) but my favourites were Keane, Heather Small and Jules Holland. Jules was just the bees knees :worship: Everyone had sounded totally professional but when Jules took the stage he was on a different level of performance (IMHO ;) ). Oh, and Eric Clapton was pretty good too! ;)

Brilliant day out, fantastic atmosphere, lots of money raised - what more can I say?

Glad you enjoyed it Hilary, at one stage I was stood on my front door listining to Jules Holland and his band as the wind was blowing the sound stright across, I thought Keane were brillant.

Did you have seats or were you standing, I cant believe a lot of those people were standing for over 7 hours. What a brillant atmosphere it must have been.

You sound as if you had a wonderful time :) !! GOOD!!!

I only had about 5 minutes to see any of the highlights and saw the Craig David set on TV - he was extremely good... but I understand that a girl needs her coffee on a cold night :teeth:

Hilary :) Glad you had a fab time.

I missed Keane on the TV, but saw Feeder and Embrace. Heather Small was good - she has a great voice!

Did you stand all that time ?

It sounds like you had a great time, Hilary :)
