Well, I've finally decided to take the plunge - many thanks to those who have answered my inquiries! I have one more question (surely not the last, though!):

I thought I read on here that TSS doesn't take personal checks nor credit cards. If I pay cash, I'd have to have a Cashier's or Certified check, correct?

I'm waiting to hear back from them about a DVC listing, but thought I'd check in here while I wait. Thanks!

you are correct, they do not take personal checks or c/c's, however, they will take a Visa Check but will put a 10 day hold on it. Certified or Cashiers is the best and fastest. I just finished the process myself.

Good luck and Congrats :dance3:

Thanks so much! Good to know ahead.

Jason told me if I wrote a personal check they'd put a 10 day hold on it. When I got the closing documents, the material said "no personal checks" which was a little different.... regardless, I got a certified check and the closing went through in days.

I know you can use a personal check for the initial deposit. After that they said no personal checks. Maybe they have a very strong preference against them? I can't see why someone able to write a negotiable personal check would have any problem sending a certified bank check anyway.
