Only 4 days til I book my FP+ and I'm working on my last strategies!!

So we are going in February (President's Week, so pretty busy, but the end of the week so hopefully not horrible). For our DHS day, I would love to ride TSMM standby followed by RnR standby so that I can save our FP+s for when we hop to MK later that afternoon. Doable?

Here's what I'd LOVE to do, all without FP+. Am I nuts for thinking I could pull this off??

Be at DHS before rope drop (of course!) - go straight to TSMM
Go straight to RnR
Ride Star Tours
Ride Great Movie Ride
Squeeze in Muppet Vision if I can convince the family and/or squeeze in a 2nd ride on RnR
Lunch at Mama Melrose at 1:25pm
Hop to MK

TSMM and RnR are the two "must do's," but I don't want to wait in line forever to accomplish that without FP+s.

What do you think???

I believe it's doable - if:

1. You do get in at RD
2. You do TSMM first
3. You do get over to RnRC as fast as you can

By the time you walk off of RnRC at this point you may be at the 60-90 minute mark. Not too bad. Star Tours is still a relatively short wait in even the most crowded conditions, same with Great Movie Ride. I think by that time, though, a second ride on RnRC will take 75-90 minutes.

You should be able to get this accomplished in time for Mama. Keeping your FP's for later in the day or evening and at another park is definitely the way to do it.

Is there any chance you'll be at DHS in the evening? The very best time to hit the main attractions with minimal wait is while Fantasmic is in progress.

This summer, we were able to ride Midway Mania 4 times in about an hour starting at 9 pm. The posted wait was 75 minutes but the actual wait was 15 or less each time.

Another evening, we rode RnR 3 times in about the same time period. The posted wait was 60 minutes with an actual wait time of 15-20.

On our final evening, we rode ToT 13 times in just over 2 hours just because there was absolutely no waiting. (I sat a few of those trips out).

I find this to be a more relaxing and efficient use of time than waiting outside a closed gate early in the morning for a hope of one ride on each.

We prefer using our Fast Passes in the afternoons when the parks are really crowded, then going for multiple rerides with little to no wait in the evenings after the crowds get tired and leave early.

Mardi Gras is the day after President's Day and all south Louisiana has the entire week off for school. It is equivalent of Jersey Week. Horribly packed and crowded.

You won't have any issues getting all that done if you are there early enough. If you are at the park at 8 am you should be first at one of the Mickey Readers. As a suggestion, if more than one is open line your family at the ones that are open, not all at one. This way when the park opens you are all scanning at the same time (or as many of you that can).

The only thing I would do is change the order a little bit so you are not back and forth all day long.

TSM
RnR (standby or single rider)
RnR a second time (standby or single rider)
Great Movie Ride
Star Tours
Muppets

The end of that week will be very crowded because it is Princess Half Marathon Weekend. You may be able to accomplish everything on the list, but be prepared for crowds.

You would want to be at the front of the rope drop crowd for TSM. I don't know if it still is, but a few months ago, the park was opening about 15 minutes before the posted time.

Also, be aware that Disney can throw a kink in your plan at any time. Our week at WDW in October they decided to test TSM as a FP+ only ride. No FP+, no riding TSM at all. Don't know if they will try that again. I can tell you that from our DHS day, I do not believe it was well received by guests. We saw, and heard, several upset people.

I would do Great Movie Ride before Star Tours. The lines build up there faster now, with FP+.

That week is also a school vacation week for most of New England. Gonna be crowded!

Should not be a problem even using the very conservative time estimates below. GMR and Star Tours waits can surprise you these days with FP+ and so many things closed pushing more folks to these rides.

TSMM - 9:00-9:30
RnR - 9:40-10:20
GMR - 10:30-11:15
Star Tours - 11:20-12:10
Muppets - 12:15-1:00

The OP might have a breeze getting that stuff done, then again.....it doesn't take much to blow up the most well intentioned plan. The time estimates you gave I wouldn't consider conservative. In my experience those are actually optimistic/best case.

If they are at the turnstiles at least 45 minutes prior to opening, and get in the park first, and ahead of the masses.....yes, 30 minutes or less to knock off TSMM (wait and ride) is possible. Then again, if they arrive at the turnstiles a little later than intended (it happens), and they aren't at the front of the crowd for TSMM, what could have been a 10 minute line is now 45. We are only talking about being 5 or 10 minutes behind the front of the TSMM pack, and what could have been less than 30 minutes to knock off the ride turns into 60.

Be at the front of the pack and knock off TSMM in 30 and they have a great shot of the line at RnR being only 30 minutes, done in 45. Then again......if things don't go perfectly at TSMM then you won't be at RnR until an hour after opening, and the time it takes to knock off RnR goes from 45 to an hour and 15 or more.

Nowadays, GMR can easily have a 30 minute wait or more by 10:30, especially a holiday period. Agree with whoever said do GMR before Star Tours. Star Tours is another ride that can now have a 20 to 40 minute wait by 11:00.

In other words, they better nail opening! If they do the plan is doable, although I don't think a second ride on RnR is likely. Worst case, no muppets and no second ride on RnR and they still make lunch.

Fairly easy plan if you are at the very front of the Rope Drop. The only thing I would add is that there is no way you will be able to "squeeze in" a second ride on RnR. By the time you get back to it, the wait will be over an hour, and likely closer to 75-90 minutes. Not sure what your definition of "squeezing in a ride" is, but that does not comport with mine.

Single rider line for RnR not much better than regular lines. In fact, when we finally got to the doors after waiting just as long as the SB line, we saw a sign that reminded us it could take as long as SB. I was disappointed, thought it would be faster.

It might work. But you'll have to stay flexible. Last time we were there hoping to do TSMM at RD, it was down for the first half hour.

If you have a FP and a ride goes down, they offer you options. If you plan it for RD and it's down, you are on your own.
