TSM standby-less test Oct. 6-9

Wasn't it that if you wanted the A&E FP+ as a 4th, you had to get it from a kiosk? If this sticks and you want to FP+ RnR & ride TSM, it seems like we would be back to rushing to a kiosk at RD.

I did not follow the A&E test. Were you allowed to get 4th before the first 3 were used?

Ugh, not this again, and during my trip! I thought they'd learned that these tests are infuriating and stupid from the Soarin mess.

TP is showing a 65 minute posted wait and a 53 minute expected wait at TSMM. Does this mean that the FP line is posted at 65 minutes, or is the TP lines app simply using prior data to estimate that at this point the TSMM stand-by wait would be posted at 65 minutes? In addition to knowing whether to expect an hour long "FP" wait should one of these tests crop up during my upcoming trip, I'm trying to understand how accurate and real-time the TP lines app is. Thanks!

That doesn't solve the complaints, that just shifts them to complain about something else. Not being able to experience an attraction is not a solution to long lines. The only true solutions to long lines are 1.) cap park attendance much lower than what it is at or 2.) build more attractions. Option 1 is bad for both Disney and guests, option 2 is a win/win situation. I think Disney is recognizing the need for more rides, at least in Hollywood Studios, if the recent closures are, in fact, due to major expansions. Epcot though...ugh.

The way I understood it, if you went to a kiosk in the park, you were able to add the A&E as a 4th before you used your 3. If you didn't from the app, you had to replace one of your FP+s if you hadn't used all 3 yet.

What I wonder is if you had a TSM FP+ pre-booked, could you go to a kiosk this morning and get another one as a 4th.

I think the geniuses at WDW are simply trying to figure out what happens when you've reduced the number of rides in a park to 5, those 5 rides only have a daily capacity of X, and N number of people in the park want to ride them.

"Gee, Phil, do ya think this math is right? 40,000 ride opportunities is less than 80,000 requests?"

"Dunno, Bob. Let's use FP+ to control the flow and see if it works out that way".

What are you complaining about? That's still 2 1/2 times the number of rides DHS opened with.(2 at opening 5 now) What other park has more than doubled it's ride offering since it opened? Not, Disney's Animal Kingdom (4 at opening 7 now). Lost boats, gained Kali, Everest, Primeval Whirl, Triceratop Spin)

Looking at the 4 theme parks, Magic Kingdom was built as a ride park. EPCOT Future World was built as an all "omnimover" E-Ticket Animatronic ride/ and show park. Disney MGM Studios was built as a show park with a couple of rides as was Disney's Animal Kingdom.

That and if you had RnRC booked if you could add TSM. Seriously....I wish they would allow you to prebook 1 and then go back to FP- for the rest. This way folks that love FP+ b/c they finally get to ride TSM or Soarin' can still ride it and those of us that loved the old system can have it back. Although I guess I have to admit that FP- may not work as well now as it did before due to increased # of users.

I think the run to the kiosk will be worse for this. For A/E most people were happy to just switch one of their 3 over then take their chances later on finding another decent 4th, or just wait standby.

At DHS the tiering and lack of rides makes this different. Most would not be willing to give up a tier 1 (or are already scheduled for TSMM) so the option of lining up at a kiosk to get a true 4th FP would be more appealing.

It's 11:40 a.m. and there are still FP+ available for TSMM (4 people). Time is 7:30-8:30, so all passes are almost gone.

Well, that sounds like they are putting everyone in the same line and it sounds like they stuck with the FP+ line. Seems like if they were going to putting everyone in the same line and there was no SB line, they would have used that side because is able to hold more guest.
