I always travel with some vitamin C (helps stop sinus congestion during the flight) as well as a couple of other things, like Vitamin E, that I take every day.

Do I understand correctly that I can't take these items in my carry-on luggage unless they're either in their original container or I have a prescription for them?

TIA for all help. I haven't flown since the new restrictions came out and I find that everytime I think about them, I have another question!

If they are capsules or pills, there is no need to carry a scrip (vitamins are usually OTC anyway) on a domestic flight. They also do not need to be in original packaging, and IME, are likely to draw less scrutiny if you just put enough for the trip in a plastic pillbox in your purse or carryon.

The only time you need a scrip domestically is for liquid or spray meds, and only if they are in quantities in excess of 3 oz. and will not fit in your "baggie rule" allowance.
