TSA relaxing security. I won't let this pass away quietly

I wonder when I'l be able to get my lighter privileges back!?!?!

So, am not a smoker but this one has me baffled. What are you supposed to do when you fly? Do you have to buy a new lighter at each end of your flight? Soon after 9/11, I was sick with a disease which required me to carry injectible medication with me. I was never asked about it and in fact it was barely glanced at even on the first flight when I made a point of showing it to the attendant. Let me tell, you the legal medication that was in there, could have taken someone down--it burned like the dickens and immoblized that area for like half an hour--and I could have easily had some horrible chemical in there. Obviously they have to allow people to travel with meds, but it is just as big of a danger as scissors.

Ahhh no lighters, but you can have matches. I don't smoke, so I am not affected by this, but come on. I could cause as many problems with a match as I could with a lighter.

A nebulizer is probably not something they encounter on a regular basis.

Well I didn't know that but shouldn't they be informed about what it is? Whenever it was screened, they had no clue what it was and when I explained it was for my asthma, they looked so confused. I was just surprised they aren't informed about what a nebulizer is since so many people have asthma or that they had never seen one.

Sorry - I cannot sign your petition because because I do not believe in it. Your hands can be used as a weapon, a pencil can be used as a weapon.

I think you are wasting a lot of energy on something that has no benefit.

A pencil or ball-point pen is not nearly as dangerous as screwdrivers or scissors. I agree that TSA needs to get tough on guns and bombs, but why give the terrorists an advantage? Just because there were air marshalls on that flight where the guy said bomb doesn't mean they will be on every flight.

I bet it involved a phone call to Washington. Nearly everything that is "unknown" to them requires a phone call to Washington. Oh and how many other screeners had to come over a take a look? I am guessing the minimum was four (this is in addition to the manager that had to look as well ).

Yep, I think it was about four other screeners that came over. They were still all confused as to what it was.
