Just wanted to share our experience during our vacation and the use of TSA approved luggage locks. We arrived at the airport and went through the usual security screening (no gels or liquids over 3 oz., their 3-1-1 program). After receving our boarding passes, we handed our luggage over to the screeners. The guy who took our luggage saw the TSA luggage locks and said "these will be perfect" and they were.
Our luggage (both ways) arrived in great condition with the locks still affixed to our luggage. If TSA had to open our luggage, they relocked the luggage and nothing was disturbed or missing.
Each TSA lock has a master number on it so the TSA officials can open the locks with a master key. Being able to lock our luggage was peace of mind. The fact that our clothes didn't arrive separately from our luggage (in the past zippers on our luggage have easily moved during transport) can save much embarassment in airports.
