In October, we will be checking out of VB and checking in to BLT where we will begin our Deluxe Dining Plan. I need an idea for lunch that day. I want TS and would prefer it be close to BLT or DTD, but not in a park. Thanks!

Kona would be my first choice, if it is open for lunch. There will be construction over at the Poly. The Grand Floridean Cafe was really good, and not very crowded. They had a wedding party in for lunch, but the place was still mostly empty. The Wave was probably my least favorite for lunch, but the beer flights were good and it will be the most convenient.

We ate at Kona while staying at Poly. Pretty good...my husband and son got some amazing looking sushi. ;)

Whispering Canyon, Capt Jack's, WP cafe and T Rex would be my top choices. CJ & Olivia's along with T rex and Rainforest are locations that have the dinner and lunch menu the same so a more extensive menu for lunch than most. Chef Mickey's for lunch would also be on my list. Of the other options (Kona Cafe, Wave, GF cafe and the like) all are reasonable.

Depending on the makeup of your party, I would also suggest Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary (for little kids), or Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge (for big kids and adults). All the fave characters for the little guys at CM and WC is a hoot!

One of the nice things about Whispering Canyon is the way the tables are set up and how completely stocked they are. If your table doesn't have any ketchup, just let your server know. pirate:

It will just be my DH and me. We love WCC, so might do that. I've been wanting to try Olivia's but figured it would be inconvenient. I guess we could drive over to OKW, then on to DTD. I'm saving Chef Mickey's for when we have grandkids.

If you go the back way by Golden Oaks, OKW is right on your way. IMO that's the best way to go from the MK area to DD anyway.

I am another vote for T-Rex when one Dlx Dining Plan. You will have plenty of leftovers! Last time I went while on Dlx plan I had wings as my appetizer, a steak/chicken combo as the entree, and a yummy dessert. I actually find it difficult sometimes finding a restaurant with both an appetizer AND a dessert that I am interested in. T-Rex had plenty of options.

Olivia's is one of my go-to places for lunch. I stop in there on about half my trips---even if I am not staying there.

TRex or RFC at DTD. We generally liked WCC, but went there in March and thought it had went downhill some.

I recommend the Wave at CR, Kona at the Poly, or Ragland Road at DTD.

Whispering Canyon has a limited menu and the Grand Floridian Cafe is just that a hotel cafe.
