Infrequent flier here. I'm trying not to panic. In place of panic I'm trying to be proactive, in the event TS Danny becomes something stronger. I feel like if I can do something, I'm more under control. The scary thing is, I'm the calmest flyer of the three of us, so my mom and DD will be looking to me to be the leader. I'd like to feel like I'm prepared for whatever may come my way.

We're scheduled to fly from NJ to FL on Sunday morning. What do I need to do in advance of Sunday to be prepared for whatever may happen and what should I expect? Do I need to have copies of both my Disney and airline insurance we purchased? Should I get to the airport on time for my 8 a.m. flight, even if they say it's been pushed back? If they cancel my flight, what are my options? Any advice from our all star list of frequent travelers here on the TB would be much appreciated. :flower3:

What airport are you flying out of and what airline?

Did you book your flights yourself or through a package?

Thanks! :flower3: Hopefully it tracks further east or moves along more quickly.

shh, I'm not really here.... I wouldn't be actually doing something helpful or kind for someone (well, perhaps for a fellow cranky person I might!) There is zero pixie dust in this post!

I wouldn't panic since the weather in CT says rain from Danny on Sat. and better on Sun. I think you will be in even better shape than us since it will clear out of NJ before CT.

This morning's forecast for NJ showed rain, heavy at times, and gusty winds on Saturday and Saturday night. I would go, but be prepared for delays.

Thank you B. Glad you re-posted this. In my panic over the weather (and trying to not let my panic show to my mom and daughter), I forgot I had printed that out and put in on my carryon in case I needed it. :rotfl: BTW, I started packing my carryon about 2 months ago (so I wouldn't forget anything) and my suitcase about 3 weeks ago. Apparently, I did forget something -- the important information I already had. :lmao: Thanks again to all. Nice to have people who will save you from yourself. :thumbsup2

I guess I was just worried that the flights that are cancelled and/or delayed on Saturday will impact my flight on Sunday morning. Only thing I can do is to keep checking with the airlines and wait it out at the airport, if need be. I guess I'm more fortunate than most, I'm only about 15 minutes from Newark Airport.

Definitely show up on time or even early on Sunday if there were flights cancelled on Saturday. You want to make sure you get your seats confirmed (even if you check in online) so they don't give them away to people who couldn't fly on Saturday.

Also, get there a bit early as there may be unusually long lines. You may want to use the curbside check in if offered to avoid the inside lines. Security lines as a result may also be longer than normal. Good luck and don't worry you should be fine.
