I have read all I can possibly read and have talked to 2 DVC members. It sounds like a no brainer. We really want to do this and like the point system's flexability and the time is right with FnF. So where else can we go if we decide not to choose a DVC resort? Can we go to MAine??? and how do I find the list.

we really want to do this

Thanks

The are 450 other resorts through Interval International or II as you'll see hear. Maine has 4 resorts that you can use points for. If you got your DVD and points catalog from your guide you will see some of the II available resorts. Point stays at these resorts vary by time of year. I was the same way...we go to Maine every summer and it would have been nice to use some points but we tend to stay in southern Maine and the 4 resorts are Bangor north. All in all you still have to do the math and see if its right for you. Most will say if you are not going to use the DVC resorts don't buy in. But if you are going to primarily use the DVC and venture off every now and again it will work. With F&F you can't go wrong, $83.30 a point is a great price. Good Luck...any other questions just ask

IMHO I would not buy DVC to exchange. If you want to exchange you can buy a lot cheaper resort that exchnages well with lower MFs. If you want to primarily go to Disney and stay onsite, then but DVC. You can always bank or rent out points.

Thanks for the help. We intend on going to Disney the Majority of the time but was interested in other option in the event we want to break it up a bit.

I would buy just enough points to cover your Disney trip requirements as it's not that great a deal to stay at non-Disney properties. On the off-years that you don't use the points yourself, you can easily rent them to someone else and use the proceeds to stay elsewhere.

You have all been a great help. I am awaiting the info package from DVC. In my original conversation with the advisor I came up with 160pts. I have already booked the CBR and figured why not roll those $$ into the dvc and be a year ahead. We vacay yearly for a week spending 1-2k so why not buy in. I believe we will make WDW our yearly spot and if we back/borrow we can get there for Christmas in the near future. I just don't want to waste $$ by buying more than I can use or rent.

Again thanks and keep your opinions coming.

you are right on with the 160 points. That is the exact amount for high season exchanges for a one bedroom. 270 is for a 2 bedroom, so you can always go to one of those every other year with some points left over if to use elsewhere.

Goodluck and PM me if you want to ask me any questions.
Roger

Thanks 160 seems to be enough. I am sitting by the mailbox waiting for the info DVC. Anticipation!!!!!!!1 :teeth:
