Hi, I'm trying to put together a surprise trip for my 5yr son for the star wars weekend. I have a few concerns/questions for my husband usually handles this. Any advice would be much appreciated. Does anyone know how the crowds are affected by the annual gay/lesbien weekend? Is it really busy Jun.1-6 or would Jun8-Jun12 be better. I am afraid that Jun 8 to Jun 12 would be more kids out of school? I am hopind to get something at the bwv or bcv so that we will be in walking distance. Also if anyone knows of any other events that occur during this time? Sorry for all the questions just trying to make the right choice. Thanks again for your time.

School crowds start to pick up after the second week of June. If we were going in June it would be mid-month (our anniversary :) ). Otherwise we would try to go early in the month to beat the school crowds.

We went last year at the end of May into the first week of June. The crowds were very do-able and I'm sure much better than they would be the second week of June when so many more schools are out. For the most part the whole G-L meet was not an issue. Make sure you get to MGM for the opening--they do a great pre-opening show with storm troopers and stuff. The Millionaire show is all Star-Wars as well. They also have special stuff for kids. Be prepared to buy a light saber...all 3 of mine wanted one (ages 4-16)!

What an awesome surprise! We leave in 1 hour for the airport for our 1st trip. It is a surprise for our kids and they have no idea. We are going to tell them during our layover. Have fun.
