I used to be a Disney vacation pro but we haven't been to WDW for 6 years ! So I have the week of 8/2 off. I was hoping to stay onsite, either POP for Port Orleans for 5 nights, 2 adults & 1 child (DS 7). Any idea as to any codes for deals coming around that time ? Or what can I expect to pay for the hotel ? I was hoping if free dining comes in it would be a better deal but I am so confused I don't know where to start :surfweb:

We are Fl residents so I don't know if I should see if a free dining plan comes out & I get a vacation package or just get the tickets & room seperately. I know that off site we'll probably save but I want DS to get that 24/7 Disney experience & I love the idea of the EMH.

Any suggestions on where to start ? What are hotels going for now. I remember last time we went POP was $49 a night & another trip we got the Poly for $179  That will give you an idea how out of touch I am :scared1:

First, on the WDW web site and price out a few packages, or room only, esp as a FL resident. (Which may or may not help. But definitely something to do.)
I have read posts here where people have saved trips, but not booked them, and soon got an e-mail offer.
That would be a good start and give you an idea.
Also consider free dining will probably mean paying rack rate on the room.

OK, THANK YOU. I was just sitting here so overwhelmed reading all the different forums, dining plan, code, resort etc.. Thank you for the suggestion !

I also wouldn't plan on free dining being available when we are going either.

It looks like from the PIN codes out there and the UK specials, August 15th would be the earliest date it would start.

General codes for us may be out in March.

But if you are making ADRs, get those lined up first and call them or book on line on February 3rd.

Have fun planning!

OK, ran it through Disney & it seemed a little pricey. 5 nights, 5 park hopper tickets, no water parks, POP, 2 adults, 1 child, added the quick meal plan
( the 2 CS + 2 snacks) & the price was around $1900 ! I did some quick math & getting FL resident tickets & paying full price for the POP & bringing our snacks & eating CS out of pocket would be cheaper ! So I'll wait to see if any codes come up for hotel rates & keep budgeting. :surfweb:
