If I am tyring to obtain a "difficult" to get ADR, should I call WDW dining OR should I book through the My Disney Experience webpage?

What do you recommend?

MDE is quicker and you can check it more often. We did this with BOG. Tried for 3 weeks and finally one night at about 830 something opened up for us in July.

My experience is that the folks on the phone have more options than I see on-line.

Of course, they deny this.

Do both until you get what you're looking for.

Try on the phone and web simultaneously!

I was able to get all the reservations I wanted by phone even though they were not posted online. I kept trying online while the rep booked each of my reservations. I know they are able to access more times, etc. than it shows when you look online.

For example, I wanted a Chef Mickey's dinner at 5:30. Times online were for much later. Phone rep booked it for me no problem.

What reservation is difficult to obtain? I live very close to MK and almost every restaurant we choose to go to I'm able to make the ADR the day before if not that same day. Only restaurant maybe being V&A or one of a select few buffet/character menus

Chef Mickey's
Victoria and Alberts'
Cinderella's Royal Table
Dessert Parties

^Those are generally always difficult.
ADR's open A LOT now thanks to the cancellation credit policy, but when it's your annual or longer trip, a lot don't want to hope on that day before adr

I tried for weeks to change an ADR for afternoon Tea at the GF from 1 to 3 and there were never any openings. Called and they were able to find a table for 2 so I went with that. I'm still looking every day to try to up it to 3 but even the table for 2 was not showing on line when I called.

I wonder if they keep a few reservations from going online so those who wait for the phones to open have a fairer chance at getting one...

I've been trying for CRT for weeks now, by phone, app and computer and still no luck. I am told to just keep trying.

If all else fails, day before is the best time to get something, given Disney's policy of charging credit card if not cancelled 24 hours before. I got several last minute reservations on our last trip that way. Also, there are frequently differences in reservations available online and by phone. I was calling for a same day, last minute next available breakfast at Kona Cafe and the times available by phone were completely different from what was online.

No I have heard it works for most. I'm trying to figure out which one to try for CRT, Akershus or 1900 Park Fare? We don't have a dining plan. Which two would you pick?
