The last time i went there was more than 10 years ago and I didn't spend too much time there. I don't remember much except that huge iconic tree. How does it compare to Bronx Zoo?

Havent been to the Bronx but its not a zoo.

Its has a safari ride and a walk by lion and tigers and such but that is a very small piece of the park.

The larger park has a roller coast, a water raft ride, some shows, a going back in time dark ride, a carnival type area, a dinosaur play area for kids, and finally the BEST counter service in all of Disney.

PS- Some people don't like it and others think its the best park. Usually you could hop parks after this since it closes earlier than any other park.

AK I think is something you would want to do if you haven't been in 10 years, you likely didn't even go on Expedition Everest previously? Not sure when it opened.

I understand that it has some thrill rides but I was interested particularly in the types of animals they have. I was mainly interested in the safari but was wondering if it's worth using one day of our tickets to go there, since we don't have park hopper option.

It's a must do for us. The safari ride is amazing. Last time we went, our truck had to stop for animals crossing the road and a zebra came up to check us out. He was so close, I could have touched him. The habitats on the walking trails are extremely well done, and there are animals there that we don't have at our closest zoo (the LA Zoo), like hippos and large bats. The stage shows are pretty awesome as well. AK is way more than just a zoo.

AK is at the top our list. I would skip going to HS before I would give up a day at AK.

We love AK and have no problem spending a whole day as two adults. We've spent many days at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio which is amazing and still enjoy AK, it's a whole different experience.

We have one of the top zoos in the country 15 minutes away and we are zoo members, we go several times a year. We wouldn't miss Animal Kingdom. It is a great park and much more than a zoo. If you are worried about it closing earlier than the other parks you could to DTD after since it doesn't require admission.

I love AK. It is never questionable for us - we don't skip this park regardless. FOTLK & FNTM are both awesome and worth the trip into the park.

We go to the Bronx Zoo regularly :) As a whole, AK is so much more than the Bronx Zoo. Specifically speaking to the safari, it TOTALLY blows away the monorail they have in Africa/Asia @ the zoo!!!! You are up close with the animals instead of above them or just far away. There are also more animals on the safari in AK than on the monorail ride at the zoo. Finally, the safari is more immersive - you "feel" like you're actually on a safari, as opposed to being in a closed off area of the Bronx ( I love the part of the zoo monorail where you can see the apt. buildings on the outside lol) Flights of Wonder bird show is awesome too, and I don't think the zoo has anything like that??
