Hi All,

I have booked a 1-Bedroom Suite on Dream. I really would like a Starboard side room for CC views. Currently we are booked in 12524 - Starboard. But, I see that 12012 on Port Side with the bump out is available.

Would you rather the Castaway View with no bump out, or a port side bump out???

Also, if you have sailed in a bumped out cabin, does the extended deck make the room seem darker?

Also, if anyone has verandah photos of either room 12524 or 12012, I would love to see them.

I was in concierge on the Magic and while it didn't have a bump out, I'd rather the bigger space inside the room. I'ave also stayed on both sides of the ship at CC and I actually prefer the side that faces the ocean (which I assume is always the port side). But...one of those times the ship from Pirates of the Caribbean was anchored in CC and it was so cool to look at (that was on the port/ocean facing side).

Thanks for the pictures. I always get the confused. The ship backs in the opposite of what I always think. It is the starboard side I prefer. Next week I have an inside so I don't have to worry about that :(

I don't know what they did with the Pirate OTC ship (obviously removed it), it was so cool to see there.

Thought I might clarify...
We have sailed DCL 7 times and this is our 7th stop at CC. So we know the better view at CC is Starboard. But, my real question is if the view of CC really is worth the shallower balcony that the non-CC view with large port side balcony. Hope that makes sense.

While the Flying Dutchman was there, it was cool.

But it was just a movie prop, and time and weather caused so much deterioration that it was removed.

@FigmentSpark Thank you!!! This is what I was looking for. DH and I had a gorgoeus huge fwd facing balcony on Regal Princess. Wanted to see if this would be similar. I just switched to this one. BTW, @PoopDeckPappy We saw the Flying Dutchman on our honeymoon on Wonder 2000. Very Cool!

I'd grab 12012 as quickly as I could: it won't last long. All the suites are nice, but the verandahs of the 4 bump-outs are exceptional. We stayed in 12012 on the Fantasy last November. There are lots of pictures of this suite and its balcony online if you do a simple search. The view is not dark or shaded at all: everything about 12012 is gorgeous and you have the lounge right across the hallway.

good choice!
i was going to suggest you take 12012 because of the location, not the bump..
we were in 12512...so exactly the same room, but on the other side..
we LOVED the location....right across from the concierge lounge....it was great...
the bit of extra space on the bump was fine....i don't think i cared one way or the other about the bump space, but i really LOVED the location of the room!!
so good choice...i'm sure 12012 is just as nice in terms of location!!!!

We loved 12524, but I also would have picked the bump out. Another advantage to that cabin will be that your muster station should be in the theater. Station J, which is 12524, is outsids.
