Trying to book for next weekend

We already have 2 rooms reserved with the AP discount at POR for Dec 15th - Dec 17th. My FIL recently decided to join us and is flying in on Dec 14th. When I tried to add Friday night to the ressie, I was told there was no availability. However, if you go to the website and type in 12/14-12/21, there is availability. It doesn't pop in if I put the 12/14-12/17 dates but does if I extend the stay. I know others have had this issue before and have booked the longer stay then altered the ressie later. Does this still work? I was scolded sternly by a rep over the phone last time we visited and were having issues booking the nights I wanted. I am just surprised that they would rather have the room empty on the hopes that some one would book a week out.

Any ideas? Should I try with extended the ressie? And change later?

I would call Disney directly and tell them what you found on the website. I had something similar to that happen to me before and, after holding a bit and some juggling, they were able to get a reservation for me.

Now, that being said, I'd be surprised if anything were available but....who knows....you might luck up!

Thanks so much for the advice. If I didn't see the resort available for 12/14-12/21 I wouldn't even consider the possibility that the Friday might be available, but since it is avail for the longer stay, I know there are rooms. I hate when I have to play the ressie game. I have already called 3 times to try and make the change. UGH! But I will be persistant and try to get my room.

This is a last minute trip for us. I was not able to get a room at first, but I kept checking the web site very frequently. We will arrive on the 14th. My advice is keep checking. Good Luck!!!
