Just had to write and say that my husband looked at a Disney book last night and didn't shoot the idea down of us maybe making a trip there!!! He is so not a traveler but has agreed we can take a trip later this summer or early fall, and I'm really pushing for Disney!! Wish me luck in convincing him this would be the best place to go. :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully he'll get a real kick out of it and really enjoy himself. Good luck. :sunny:

I'll keep my fingers crossed also .Have you thought about entising him a little more with the WDW Vacation Planning DVD? :thumbsup2

I think my best bet in getting him there is to show him all the wonderful food options.....he loves a good meal!! :) Which leads me to another question, how many people have done the dining plan and liked it?

It's additive, I'm telling you it is just something that can't be helped. Get some WDW guide books, order the DVD from Disney and watch it while he is around. It's the pixiedust so I am sending some your way. :tink: pixiedust:

You've told him about the FREE dining plan this fall, haven't you?

If not, that should seal the deal.
Cuz it's FREEEEEE
(did it last year, LOVED it)

Then tell him you guys have to book posthaste in order to get the FREEEEE deal.
I think you have to reserve by June 4th (???---confirm that on the mousesavers website)

The WDW Official site has a PDF of all the restaurants you can eat at for FREEEE while you're there. And allearsnet has the menus.

Go into hard sale mode, my friend.
This is an offer that cannot be passed over

Good luck!!!

Yes sdy is right the date is June4th and what man resists free food! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the advice! I have already printed out the Disney Dining Locations menu and plan to present this to DH sometime over the week-end. I'm still trying to figure if it's a good deal for only two people??? I also plan on printing out some information on places I think he'd really enjoy, like Epcot and the shows at MGM. He's NOT a ride person, but probably wouldn't mind people watching while I take a spin on ToT and RR.....the two rides I want to try the most!! :goodvibes
Keep any advice coming, I appreciate all of it.

Eeyore, try and push him to book the trip before June- this way you will get free dining. Also if you go after Labor day, tell him that most kids are back in school so its less crowded. hhmmmm what else can I think of ....
Tell him that there is so much food to eat on the Dining Plan that the two of you, you wont have to spend a dollar (but you will/ a little white lie doesnt hurt).

Just wanted to say I hope you get your trip to Disney.
If you don't book your trip for a time during the free dining then make sure you get a package with the dining plan. My DW and myself used last year on our trip and it was more than worth every penny of it. :cool1: One example of this was when we ate at Cap'n Jack's in DTD. Our meal ended up costing over 100.00. With the dining plan it was already paid for plus the amount for the plan does not cost that much per person per day.
Good luck :sunny: :sunny:

I'm glad to hear the free dining has been a good deal for most...this will go a long way in helping me convince him to go. Maybe if I just keep bringing it up night after night, he'll get tired of listeing to me and cave!!! LOL! I really think he'd enjoy it once we were there, but it's getting him there that's the problem. I am going to work on him over the week-end, I'll post and let ya know how it goes!!

All my DW has to say is let's go and I will book ASAP.

Will a little whining help? Oh heck would ALOT of whining help? You gotta come up with all the counter arguements to the why's you shouldn't go, so that you are prepared.

I'm sending you lots of Pixie Dust....

Please let us know when he say's yes. And don't forget you only have 16 days to book and get the free dining.

Just had to write an update. We were watching America's Funniest Videos last night and guess where they were at????? DISNEY!! I told my DH it was a sign. ;) I also told him that if we book by the 4th it is FREE dining....I kept repeating the word FREE so I hope it sunk it. I'm hoping we can go out tonight for supper so I can talk to him more. Have a great week-end everyone I'll post Monday. Thanks for all the Pixie Dust you've been sending my way!! :goodvibes

Just watched that last night and it just got me more pumped for our August trip!

Good luck!!! :thumbsup2

Good luck!!!

We are finishing off paying off some debts then I am free to plan :woohoo:

I hope he agrees.

Lori

Good Luck! I had to do some pretty good whining and convincing to get DH to agree to our first trip. Now he says we can go every year. Sending you pixie dust pixiedust:

Oh, and the dining plan is great. You eat so much my DH says as long as they have the DP we will take advantage of it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. pixiedust:

Show him those menus - no man can resist the food!!!

If he's a meat and potatoes man - show him the menus for places like Whispering Canyon's, O'Hana, LTT, etc. Great food.

If he likes to experiment - try Mexico, Marrakesh, or any Epcot restaurant! I'm not as familiar with the restaurants in the Beach Club or Boardwalk areas but I've heard great things from those.

Really - loads of food - all FREE

BTW, we went from 9/11 through 9/18 last year and the lines in the parks were practically non-existant (most times they didn't even uncover the fast pass units)!

Okay, just wanted to post on how the week-end went. I didn't get a def. "yes we can go", :guilty: , but I did get a "I'll check into vacation time at work" :) , so I'm taking that as a good sign. I also reminded him that we have to book by the 4th of June to get FREE dining. I'm taking it as a good sign that he's at least going to check into vacation time.

So, my next question is, I'm thinking if we get to go we should stay at Coronado Springs. It just seems like the best one for us. Has anyone stayed there? Also, I did a rough price check and for 4 nights right after Labor Day it came out to$1350.00 without air, is this a good deal? Oh 3 day park hopper passes and the free dining.

TIA for all your advice!!

I just plugged in arrival of 9/5 depart on 9/9 with 3 day hoppers and I was quoted 1093.04 at csr. Also if you belong to AAA you can get a discount on the room portion of your package and still get free dining.

Would your dh like downtown disney? POR is a nice boat ride away and is a moderate resort too.

:wizard: for you.
