truth about garden grill re-hitching

okay, i just got back 2 days ago from a week at disney. when we went to go on the land ride, i had to go up and speak to someone at the garden grill to find out about the re-hitching ceremony.

the cm that i spoke to said that he found it to be odd too. He said that one morning, as they were setting up, they got a call telling them that they were no longer to do the ceremony. They said that it "came from someone very high up".

He said they still do the cake, and the waiter can make an announcement to everyone in the restaurant that it is your anniversary or your honeymoon, but they don't want them doing the whole ceremony anymore, or passing out the certificates. He said that technically it is up to the discretion of your waiter as to what they announce when it is your anniversary. So, it is possible that if you ask them to do it, they may still do it.

We were at Garden Grill last month and spoke to our server "Art" who told us the re-hitching ceremony is no more as I guess there were complaints about a certain rehitching that was for 2 men. My dh and I had the rehitching ceremony about 3 yrs. ago. It was alot of fun and it is sad that they have done away with it. I dont know any other details except what Art had told us that I have repeated here.

I thought it was along those lines too. I don't know about all AppleBee's but the ones here wont' sing happy birthday anymore because a customer complained because they asked their server to do it, but another server got everyone together for another table first. The table that complained still got it done but they weren't first. They actually filed a discrimination suit from what I was told, but I believe it was thrown out.
