True or False-MYW Tix Can Be Used @ DL

Hi, trying once again to visit where it all began next summer (fell thru this year ); I AM determined

Read on allears site that MYW tix can be used @ DL...

Can anyone verify? If so, will add some extra days on tix I'm getting ready to purchase.

When you arrive, go to the main ticket booths in the Espanlande area between the two parks and they will scan your tickets to see how many days left etc. Naturally this only works with non expiring tickets, the new MYW ones or the old hoppers that never expired. Be aware the reverse is false however. You cannot use Disnyland tickets at WDW since they are cheaper.

Your welcome! Just check the pricing carefully, the MYW non expiry tickets are expensive and it may be that just buying separate tickets for DL could be cheaper. Especially if you are going during the "everybody plays for the kids price" promotion. Good luck!

No, unfortunately, AP's are only good at one park. It sure would be nice if they were interchangeable however!

Wow, this is great news. I have some left over hoppers from WDW, not the MYW tickets. If I use them at Disneyland will they be hoppers so I can visit both parks on the same day?

if you do go to the allears tix faq page, there's a comment posted where you cannot hop from park to park; but a reader commented that he was permitted ; perhaps it depends on the CM?

Is it safe to assume DL won't offer any great tix promo end of June/July; will have to price it out; but think using the MYW non-expire would work out to our benefit.

If your MYW tickets have park hopper then you will get park hopper tickets.

10-day MYM, with hopper and no-expiration $409 (no expire option cost $155)
7-day MYM with hopper and regular expiration $248 plus 3 day DL tickets $159 total $408. So basically its the same either way.

I have always heard that if the original tickets were park hoppers than they would convert to Disneyland Hoppers as well. But Allears is a knowledgeable Disney site so that makes me wonder. I do also wonder if the people who could not hop had base, non hopping WDW tickets. You might call guest services at Disneyland directly and ask them.

We're doing a cruise & Universal this year out of FL; so we don't need APs; just 4 days @ WDW.

samkj - thanx for posting the $ figures. I use:

Undercovertourist; the cheapest i've found for a 10 day non-expiring PH, including tax/s&h = $411.95

We'd probably just go with non-expiring 7 day PH @ 338.95 (or even a base 7 day ) good enough to get us 4 days @ WDW & 3 @ DL. Unless I'm missing something...the $338.95 would be a good bargin; based on DL tix costing $159; resulting in 4 days @ WDW for $180.

Could even drop the PH & go with 7 day non-expir MYW tix @ $294.95 (would drop the price of 4 days @ WDW to $136!

Assume 3 days @ DL is sufficient (2 @ origin & 1 @ Calif.); we're not much for PH anyway.

Almost sounds too good to be true, I've got to be missing something. guess i need to determine if they accept the MYW base tix before I do proceed.

i'm back just called DL ticketing phone #; CM 1st said either MYW non-expiring base OR PH could be used.

I asked her to double check with supervisor & was told that ONLY PH MYW tix may be used @ DL

Guess I better go that route; just wanted to post the info I was given

I had the same question as we have 10 day non expiring hoppers with 7 days remaining. I am only going to DL for one day (day-tripping from San Diego) so a one-day hopper for me would be $83. Not a bad exchange for one day off of my WDW MYW hopper. In any case, here are the official responses from the Disneyland Guest Communications - 1st response was whether or not the tickets could be exchanged and the second response is regarding the hopper option. Hope this helps.

This is true! We used ours for three days last May and had no problems at all, park hopped and everything. I'd suggest you go early to the parks though because you will need to proceed directly to the entrance gate and that CM will give it to another CM and you will have to stand off to the side and watch everyone else go past into the park while they go and call to verify your days and give you an exchanged hopper ticket for the day. Also one other thing I'm not sure I read here is that you will need to do this every day you wish to use the WDW tix. You can't transfer multiple days at once, they only do them day by day.

Only thing CM mentioned was that with non-expiring tickets; they had to be used within the original expiration period.

I called 714-781-4400 for the info today (direct ticket line @ DL); only had to wait a few minutes.

KimD - okay, guess they can't make it too easy for you. Can I assume they open the guest relations (if that's what they call them @ DL) prior to park opening as they do @ WDW? (i hope lol).

Thanks for this info even though it throws a wrench in the whole works. I don't mind standing around waiting on two days I'm visiting but don't want to do this the morning of the POTC premiere. I'll have to work out the prices and see if it's worth using 2 days of old hoppers and buying a one day ticket for the 19th. I guess it's no big deal since I make it to WDW every year. They'll get used eventually. I was just excited to be saving a little on what is becoming a very expensive pilgrimage.

On that note I guess I should get myself to work so I can pay for it.

keishashadow - You actually have to exchange them at the official entrance gate to the park. I was told we had to go to guest relations too when I called to verify this could be done but when we went to exchange them early they told us that they couldn't do it there (at Guest Relations) that we had to just go to the gate and tell them what we were doing and it was fine all three days. BUT they do start letting people inside the park before it actually opens to walk out onto Main Street and wait at the rope for the official opening, so technically if you got there early enough you could still make rope drop!

CarolynNC - You're welcome! Ya it is a nice advantage but it does put a kink in things if you don't want to wait. As I said above though they do open up and start letting people in earlier than the actual park opening so if you were oh like the first people there, bright AND REALLY SUPER EARLY you could still be in fairly quickly.
