True Life Miracle

I am sorry, but is anyone else's "hinky" alarm going off? Girl is missing for 5 days and suddenly a man she knows from church miraculously knows where to find her?

I would love, absolutely love, for this to be a true miracle. But, more often than not, there is a logical explanation rather than a miraculous one.

I hate to admit I was thinking this same thing!
I hope it ends up that this man's story is true.

Yes, mine is! But there is no one who would ever call me religious. So take that FWIW.

That said, I live about 3 miles from Nadia, also on Lake Jesup. Every night I've gone to bed listening to the helicopters and on Friday and Saturday the air boats.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy that she just wandered off and wasn't abducted. There is a registered sex offender living very close to where she was located.

I've been glued to the internet since Friday and am so glad she is alive.

These 'woods' are nasty places. I'd call it a swamp, personally.

Moreover, I am glad that the man decided to "listen" to his dream. How many of us may have ignored a dream like that? Seriously, I probably would have dismissed it, I won't lie.

Actually, I probably would have dismissed it too ONLY because mine are never good. Somehow mine always involve someone dying, so I've learned to mostly just shut anything that is remotely bizarre, unusual dreams out if death is remotely involved. I only did this after about the 3rd time of waking up -- that was totally bizarre dream/fleeting thought only to get a phone call a later telling me that someone died. Now, if they would be GOOD things, then I might not be so paranoid.

First of all, all this Praise the Lord & Bible verses stuff, I thought religion was not allowed on this board. :confused3

Yes, my thought went in the hmmmmm direction about the guy.

For now, I'll just go with some people have psychic dreams or predictions. Glad she's ok.

I am sorry, but is anyone else's "hinky" alarm going off?.

Mine does a little bit but then again, I've lived so many "truth is stranger than fiction" things in my life that until any other facts come out, I have to go by what is being told is how it happened.

Although, personally, it wasn't very smart on the guy's part to go into that area alone! Seems to me he should have told someone something along the lines of I just want to look in this area because I feel this is where I'm being lead to look or something along those lines, since it sounds like it is dangerous place to be out in general.

Well that article doesn't make it sound like he had a dream and led police to the little girl.

I've been watching the news all morning and they never mentioned any dreams, neither have any of the articles I've seen.

Call me cynical but I don't believe for a second that a "dream" led King to her.
I think he either put her there or knows who did.

That said, I'm very happy that she was found alive & well.

Well you can go with it if you want but that's not what's being reported or what the man who found her claims to have happened. :confused3

Exactly. Searchers know not to create being a second lost person to search for. ;)

Where is everyone getting the information that the man had a dream and then led rescuers to the little girl I wonder?

I think just the OP. Maybe the OP probably heard it mentioned on the news she watched.

Nadia's Dad: 'Give The Glory To God'

Missing 11-Year-Old Autistic Girl Found Alive In Woods

POSTED: 8:59 am EDT April 13, 2010
UPDATED: 12:51 pm EDT April 13, 2010
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- The father of a missing girl was overcome with emotion Tuesday when his daughter emerged from woods alive and well.
"Give the glory to God," a shaking Jeff Bloom said minutes after he saw his daughter for the first time since she went missing last Friday.

The Metro Faith Church confirmed Tuesday at about 9 a.m that one of their members, James King, found the 11-year-old autistic girl in a swampy area near Lake Jesup in Winter Springs. The church said Nadia is in good shape, just tired, hungry, dehydrated and covered in mosquito bites. Nadia's family spokesperson also confirmed that the girl has been found alive and well.
A 911 call from a house near where Nadia was found turned the intense search into an emotional rescue effort.

Nadia, who was hooked up to an IV, was carried out of dense woods on a hammock-style stretcher by rescuers. She will be taken to South Seminole Hospital for a checkup.

Winter Springs officials had not been soliciting help from volunteers in the search, but King was conducting his own search.
Church pastor Dan Holland said, "Obviously, we are ecstatic. Unbelievable good news."

Holland said a search team of about 35 to 40 men worked through the night Monday. He said the searchers prayed, asking the Lord to lead them to Nadia, then walked straight into the swamp and found her. She was responsive.

"..the hand of God," Holland said. "However someone is found alive, I don't care. We are just ecstatic."
From Chopper 2, WESH 2's Pat Gribbin said he could see command posts, law enforcement and ambulances near the interchange of state Road 417 and state Road 434 near Lake Jesup.

Dr. Todd Husty said although Nadia is covered in bug bites, that is not life-threatening. It seems the girl will be OK.

Police had exhausted every possible tip during an all-out search that began last Friday when Nadia disappeared from her Winter Springs neighborhood.

During the search, dive teams have been looking in six bodies of water near Nadia's home, but they said they're facing difficult conditions in water as deep as 15 feet. They said the water is very murky and sonar is being used to search for clues. Monday, a new tip from Nadia's sister suggested the young girl may be on an adventure because of the book about science and nature that she is reading.

"A bicycle at the end of a cul-de-sac (was found) with one home off to the right-hand side and nothing but dense woods in front of you, on its kickstand, helmet taken off and placed on the handle bars, just like somebody got off the bike to take a walk or to go into a house or anything like that. That's the scene that we have right now," Brunelle said in a news conference Monday.

Metro Faith Church members said they have been praying for the young girl since she disappeared.

Over the past five days, authorities have kept hope that they were searching for an alive Nadia.

I've been with this locally all day (I'm not even dressed!) there was an interview this am with the Pastor of the church where both Mr King and the Blooms attend. He stated that King prayed on a certain bible verse and when he woke up before dawn he just "knew" where Nadia was and walked into the woods directly towards her. He called 911 about 830 am. It took police about an hour to get to her and then about 2.5 hours to get her out.

It sounds hinky to me but I don't know anything. I just don't believe in that kind of stuff.

I will say that when police took him in for questioning he was VERY resistant to go.

However, there was just a presser and the police chief said that Nadia is talking and she has given them no indication of any foul play.

Church Member Finds Missing Girl In Swamp
11-Year-Old Nadia Bloom Was Missing Since Friday
POSTED: Tuesday, April 13, 2010

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- A missing 11-year-old Seminole County child was found alive Tuesday morning by a church member conducting his own search for the girl.

Metro Church member James King found the missing fifth-grader Tuesday morning in a wooded, swampy area in Seminole County.
Paramedics said Nadia made two comments to them, "Glad you guys found me," and, "Can't believe you rescued me."
In a news conference Tuesday afternoon, police said King used toilet paper wrapped on top of a tree to tell police where he had found Nadia.

"Nadia is in good condition, she has insect bites from head to toe," Winter Springs police Chief Kevin Brunelle said. "The paramedic noted that her feet were very water logged as if she had been standing in water for a while."

Brunelle said the area was searched last because police did not believe she could have gotten that far. "He (King) woke up this morning and prayed and asked the Lord to lead him," Dan Holland, the senior pastor at Metro Church in Winter Springs, said. "He went into the swamp and found her. He's a guy who's determined, like any man would be, determined to find this girl and do whatever it takes."

King's wife, Diana King, said she received a text message from her husband just after 9 a.m., telling her that he had found Nadia and she was safe in his arms. She said although he had only met Nadia once or twice, he was a devoted father and dedicated to helping find the girl.
Nadia, who has Asperger's syndrome, was found in ankle- to knee-deep muck just south of alligator-infested Lake Jesup and northwest of her Barrington Estates home in Seminole County.

"She was able to speak. This is a time for celebration," said Holland, who added that Nadia was covered in mosquito bites but appeared to be OK otherwise.

Nadia was removed from the wooded area on a stretcher more than two hours after being found by King, and she was taken to South Seminole Hospital for an evaluation.
Nadia's parents watched authorities place her into an ambulance, and her father thanked everyone involved in the search for his daughter.

"It shows the compassion of the human spirit," Jeff Bloom said.
"Thank you," said Tonya Bloom, Nadia's mother.
"Our daughter's a nature lover and she went on a bike ride and she just stopped to take some pictures," said Jeff Bloom, explaining how his daughter disappeared.
Brunelle said Nadia is dehydrated but is "doing well."

Dr. Tim Hendrix said the weather over the last five days was favorable for someone in Nadia's situation.
"The thing in her favor is the mild weather -- not too cold, not too hot," Hendrix said.
Patricia Guobadia, a spokeswoman for the Bloom family, said she was notified of the news via a text message from a friend.
"Our prayers have been answered," Guobadia said.

Rick Carver, the principal at Lawton Elementary School in Oviedo where Nadia attends, issued a statement on Tuesday after receiving news about the discovery.

"On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of Lawton Elementary, we are relieved and happy to hear that Nadia Bloom has been found. We look forward to her return to her family and friends, and share their joy at her safe recovery."
Meanwhile, authorities on Tuesday released the 911 call made by Nadia's mother on Friday to report her daughter missing.
"Hi, um, my daughter is missing. She took a bike ride and we have a little pond by our subdivision, Barrington Estates, and I can't find her," Tonya Bloom, said.

Tanya Bloom tearfully told the dispatcher of her daughter's disappearance before a neighbor took the phone and provided more details.
Earlier on Tuesday, authorities began a fifth day of searching for Nadia, who vanished while riding her bike on Friday in the gated subdivision, which is located near state Roads 434 and 417.
Nadia's bike -- with her helmet attached to it -- was found on Friday near a wooded area that backs up to the subdivision, prompting a massive search of the area.

Before Nadia disappeared, police said she read a book entitled "Lanie," about an adventurous girl who camps in her back yard. The book does not encourage irresponsibility, according to Local 6 News reporter Jessica D'Onforio, who has read the book.
"I've been told she read the book very quickly and she's also a nature lover," Brunelle said.
Nadia's sister told police earlier that Nadia could have been in the woods with the intention of making a nature video.

Local 6 News obtained a map of the two-mile search area used by investigators. The area stretched from Lake Jesup to the north to Lawton Elementary School to the south.
Every grid on the map was identified by a number, and areas shaded in yellow represented an area searched thoroughly by K-9s and others. Red dots on the map showed areas of water that were searched by divers.
An Amber Alert was not issued in the disappearance because there was no evidence that Nadia was abducted.

I saw this on GMA this morning. At that point, they had not found her yet. I'm so glad they found her! I'm with you...this is God at work! God is GREAT!!

the way he acted with police is bugging me, saying the seat was too small, wanted to talk to his wife first...odd, why wouldn't he just go with them?

Miracles can happen---

and as much as I want to believe his story (stranger things have happened and do so legimately)....

It smells fishy to me.

But if Nadia in her condition can be trusted as a witness, I don't think that we shouldn't be convinced that it was nothing short of a miracle.
