So here is the story. Yesterday My friend stopped by with her son who is 1. Well my daughter got jealous that my son eric who is 17 was reading to my friends son jeff who is 1, so she climbs on the chair and grabs jeffs bottle and throws it so jeff starts crying. So after that I took her from the chair and made her brother timmy who is 9 take her outside and play with her till they left. Then last night me and my husband both had a talk to her about being jealous and what to do and not to do and asked her if she understood and she said yeah, but i don't hink she does what can i do to teacher her not to be jealous, we never went through this with our boys.

How old is your dd??

Oh - sounds totally normal for a two year old. I remember a friend's son would run to her and say "I hold you, Momma!" whenever she'd hold another baby. My dd is almost 2 and gets much more clingy whenever I hold another child.

At two, she probably *won't* understand everything that you tell her about not being jealous. Just deal with the behavior - it's NOT ok to throw the bottle or hit another kid, etc. Tell her no and redirect her. Watch her when she's in a situation where she might be jealous, and be ready to run interference if she shows signs of acting out.

She sounds like a totally normal toddler to me! Just a little sister who didn't really want to share her big brother at that moment. :)

she is close to her brother because he is really good with her, well better then her 9 year old brother any way. She loves her older brothers and is close with both of them, but closer with the old one who is 17. What am I going to do when he goes to college next year. She always wants him to play, hold and be with her.

She's two.....that says it all. We watched my DGD remove her beloved Pa's finger off her little cousin and continue as though the little one did not exist. Brought back memories of my DS at 2, wrangling for position on DH knee when DH little cousin had the nerve to sit there. :goodvibes Your little one will outgrow it, she is just a littel territorial now.
