And then the west coast wakes up.....Everyone and their mother is signing in at the same time. It’s slammed. Give it a bit. People will be starting their days and it will eventually lighten up.
Not that I'm being an apologist but I really don't understand why so many people are freaking out because they couldn't watch The Mandalorian at 5 AM. People got up to watch The Mandalorian at 5 AM! I mean, I'm a nerd, but.... People are kinda losing their minds over this thing - which is probably a good thing for Disney in the long run, assuming the issues get ironed out.
First don’t go through ruku or anything like that if your having problems. Go straight from your smart tv if you can. I have gig internet. I never seen the slow circle loading thing until today since I had gig internet. Goes through for me but not instant. Had trouble with the ruku going straight with the smart tv now.
I am on the West Coast. My kids were able to stream, I keep getting kicked over to “try again” and it’s MY account. And then the west coast wakes up.....
This makes no sense. If it’s delayed, then that’s latency. And it doesn’t matter if you use a ROKU or your TV. Your ROKU most likely has better WiFi antennas than your TV.
Consumer hardware can’t handle gig speed right now. The hardware isn’t fast enough. It’s a waste of money. And streaming 4K only requires 25 Mbs. Most households are fine with around 60 Mbs if they want to stream 4K to more than one TV. And most shows aren’t 4K anyway.
The service seems to be settling in nicely here on the bitter east coast. I can even get to the main page now.I am on the West Coast. My kids were able to stream, I keep getting kicked over to “try again” and it’s MY account. My oldest couldn’t get the App Store to show the app and had to download it from my purchases. My Apple TV kept crashing. None of it unusual for Day 1.
Disney+ is aware of slowness and unresponsiveness. This is happening on apps, the website, etc. It's not specific to a technology. They just weren't prepared for the demand.
I came here after reading the featured article on Dis, following the link here and wanted to add my 2 cents if anyone is still having trouble with the fire stick. I don't see a general area to report issues and possible fixes, but this was my experience on 11/14 when I couldn't get on with my firestick:Anybody else having trouble accessing it with FireStick? It won't connect to the service
It still works fine, however I have to turn off my VPN everytime I go on Disney+, which is kind of a pain.I just wanted to put a quick note out about watching Disney+ streaming using the Fire stick 4k: You can put the app on just fine, however... if you're using a VPN Disney+ may not work. I kept getting the message "Error 73- Disney+ is not available in all areas" when launching the app and I tried to get chat help on their site. The wait time was over 30 minutes so I searched the error message myself on the site and found that if you are using a VPN the app may not work with it. I turned off my VPN and it worked just fine.
