Let me start off by saying that Member Services did a wonderful job of taking care of the issues that I had! Thanks!
Background: I have two contracts, one bought directly from Disney and one bought resale. After booking our three trips for this year, I have a few points left in one contract (SSR) and even fewer points left in the contract (OKW) used to reserve our November trip, originally reserved at OKW. So in order to make a switch at the 7 month mark to BLT, I transfered points from our SSR contract to our OKW contract.
LESSON ONE: For use of transferred points, you can't book online, you have to call Member Services. (Not a problem)
LESSON TWO If you make a waitlist, like we did, you need to specifically have them note to use those transferred points. (I had okayed the borrowing of points to make up the difference, but assumed since they had used the transferred points for the original reservation that the waitlist replaced that they would use the transferred points. Needless, to say, they borrowed more points than we expected to fullfill the waitlist.
One long call to Member Services, and being put on hold, problem was solved and taken care of. Again, thank you Member Services.
Hope this will help others, who might be using transferred points of one type or another.
