Hi,

I am trying to rent some points for 12/28-12/30 at BWV. According to the points calendar, I would need anywhere from 92 (Studio) to 262 (2 BR) for these 3 nights. Are these #'s correct? And, is there a chance that I could get these nights, if I can get the points?

Sorry to ask such an elementary ?? I'm hoping if we can stay in one of the nicer rooms that DH would be tempted to take the DVC tour and maybe we'll start 2002 as DVC members!

Thanks for any input!!

I'll give you the rundown for Preferred View. Standard View would be slightly less but much harder to come by.

Friday Dec. 28
Studio - 38 points
1 Bed - 75 points
2 Bed - 103 points

Sat. Dec. 29
Studio - 38 points
1 Bed - 75 points
2 Bed - 103 points

Sun. Dec. 30
Studio - 16 points
1 Bed - 32 points
2 Bed - 44 points

Totals would be
Studio - 92
1 Bed - 182
2 Bed - 250

With people changing their minds about travel, it might be possible to snag someone's cancellation. This time of year is usually impossible, but with the way things are this year you might get lucky.

Another thought, if you want to try out the resort, is to see what Disney is offering. They may have some discounts available for this time. It would be worth asking. Most renters want $10 per point and you are staying over the high point weekend period. The 2 bedroom would be running you about $800 a night. You may find Disney offering something a lot cheaper (and you'll get daily maid service too). ;)

THanks Pam!

You are right; it seems kind of pricey. The only way to get the AP Discount is to include the 25th in your reservation. We were going to do 12/25 &26 at WL (Disc. available), 12/27 at HRH, and 12/28-30 at BW or BC (Disc not available). I guess we'll have to readjust again! But, who cares? We're going to DISNEY!

Cathy,
I have ressies 12/29- 1/3 and most of my wait lists cleared after many months of waiting. I did call yesterday to change to a 1 or 2 br from a studio for 12/29 and nothing was available. While resort ressies may be available, DVC rooms seem to be pretty booked up. If you find a renter, you could have them put you on the wait list, but I think Pam's idea of looking for a better deal from Disney is the way to go. Check out the thread on the resorts board to mousesavers, I believe they may even have a code for that time. Good Luck!

It's too expensive to rent just for a weekend including Fri and Sat nights. I'd do cash and try to get a discount. A better chance of getting the days you need and likely much cheaper as well. As noted, trying to get a cheap reservation from someone that's renting last minute might be helpful also.
