I am just wondering if anyone has ever stayed at Tropical Palms and what your opinion of the resort is. Ft Wilderness is getting hard to reserve and I am always looking for another good place to camp.

We stayed at Tropical Palms over New Years. Had a great time. It is Not FW but still a good time. I did miss the charging privileges while at the parks so we alway had to have cash with us. and I did miss walking the loops at night.
Everyone was nice just like FW.

TP is no FW Tina, but it is a nice clean park and there are a lot of places around there to shop and eat. We stayed there in June last year with some family from south FL and it was really convenient. Old Town is close and there's lots to do there too. It's a real straight shot up 192 to get to all the Disney parks. Believe it or not it's almost as pricey as FW. We're staying at Turkey Lake this weekend. It's not FW either but it's only $15 a night. The only problem is that it's being found out of course and it's tough to get a spot during the winter months because they're setting sites aside for the snowbirds. If you know what days you're going to need Turkey Lake in advance I'd suggest booking it.

I am gonna check out Turkey Lake. I have never heard of it..Thanks Stack

Do they have a shuttle to WDW? Yes the cost is 4$ per person for Disney and
16$ per person for Sea World or Universal.

Tinah..you should expand your delivery and set up service to those CGs too....might be able to fill your calendar up solid. Not that it appears that your having any trouble doing that now...I was impressed with how many dates are already reserved. It got my wheels to turning.

It is filling up fast. What started as something for me to try, has quickly become a business. Before I would include Trpoical Palms, I need to go stay there and check it out. Any reason for me to get to Orlando!

We stayed at TP 5 years ago when I was down at a conference. It's much cheaper than FW. But I would stay at FW if you can get reservations when you need them. The transport, atmosphere, not having to ride/drive in is worth the extra $$.

TP was a nice place to stay, but it's not FW.

Tropical Palms is an Encore/Equity Lifestlye Resort. They are a publically traded corporation. They have parks all over the country. Many of them are in Florida. We are seasonal in a park in upstate NY..near the real "Saratoga Springs". Our resort(Alpine Lake) is owned by the same company. They took over two years ago. At first we were a bit apprehensive, but the new management seems to be working out. They finally have a local person doing the day to day management, and that has made a huge difference. We're very happy. I'm not sure when Encore purchased Tropical Palms but I don't think it was that long ago either. I know at our resort they do advertise Tropical Palms and push the reservation system for our members to rent all over the country..from the brochure I've seen it appears very nice. They seem to have a good amount of "cottage" type rentals there. Much the way FW has the cabins.
I realize this information isn't specific to the park..but to me the corporation seems to have the capital to keep our park in good shape, and I'd hope it would be the same for Tropical Palms. Being huge Disney fan, FW would be my first pick, but I wouldn't mind checking out some other Encore/EquityLifestyle resorts either.

We reserved at Tropical Palms for T'giving week 2007 because we couldn't get into FW. Ultimately we did string together the nights we needed at FW and cancelled the TP reservation. Tropical Palms wasn't "almost" as pricey as FW - it was actually MORE for the week than a preferred site at the Fort. There were nights when FW was more, but overall Tropical Palms was more, at least during Thanksgiving week. I was shocked at that.

Yeah, we paid around $50-55 a night when we stayed. The annual Old Car Show was going on down at Old Town and we had some relatives staying at that hotel right by the OT sign. It was all about convenience over there for that trip. I remember the guy telling me they were trying to get some of the FW overflow and I was thinking not with that rate you're not.
